If this news hasn't reached you yet: Thomen Stauch split with BG. For me not too unexpected but yet suprising. You're right, Piet while saying 'For me not too unexpected but yet suprising'. I don't know exactly what has been happening to the BG for the last time, but I know that Thomen couldn't wright & record drums so fast (by time - and nor by tempo) and in so kind of expressing as the band needed. I suppose the conflict isn't for 100% based on some different musical views for the future of the band or on the music whitch they've been planning to play for the last time (I see 'A nite at the opera as the beginning of this)... But he left the band, founded own band... Live goes on for us all.

Wow! It's a great news! This new 'all-stars band' Savage Circus gives me something that I didn't wait from such projects (as the latest project from powerheaded musicians I can remember... well... Zillion - awful (but very professional. For melomans) :) ).
I'm glad to know that our favourites don't go away in shadows on unknown. They sometime give such fresh and not standart things.
Well, I hear the sound on thomen.de while writing this words. The recordings let me say only the one - it'll be a good work. Unfortinatelly, I can't hear who is the singer, and there's no info on dockyard1.com and the other links, whicth Piet has published to the moment.
I have some questions:
who are the members of the new band?
How Thomen wrote his material? :) He's a drummer, but maybe he plays the guitar or anything else?
When will it all be released??!! :)
Will Thomas help BG with drums as Thomen did several years ago for Iron Savior?

OK.. so far the line-up goes like this:
drums - thomen
vocals - jens carlsson (persuader, sweden)
guitars - emil norberg (persuader, sweden)
guitars - Piet
bass - tba
Thomen plays a little guitar and some keyboard but also he sung some riffs and melodies to his friend gonzalo in madrid, who is a guitarrist. besides that he works with a sequencer programm (logic audio) where he also would catch his ideas with. when he played the stuff in spain to me, it was raw but nevertheless the song was there. some finalizing and arranging when we all met the first time in hamburg and evil eyes was done...
The release is planned for September 2005
In general I would say yes (if BG would ask for it), but at the moment I don't see him playing the upcoming BG album. I think, the seperation needs to be lived for a time before things like this may happen.

Hi Piet! Nice to read again from you on the board, we missed ya boy! :wink: Yep, I already read on metallus.it about Thomen leaving BG and I was very surprised. To be honest BG has never been my absolute fave band and I didn't check often their site or the news about them, that's why all this took me by surprise. Btw, I do like Thomen, he's a lovely funny guy and I'm happy to see that you're working on a project together. I'm listening to the SC sound right now, cool stuff, I really like it! Now you just have to tell me that you'll tour to Italy sooner or later, that the other guys of the band are kind as you and Thomen are and that you'll have Piesel as a guitar tech and I will instantly elect you my all time fave band! :wink: :lol: :lol: :lol: Just kidding, but I really hope to have the chance to see you around supporting some bands (try to understand, the last and only band I saw after Saxon was Europe... not very exciting... :roll: and lately I was too busy to move to other towns for shows... I NEED SOME GOOD OLD METAL! :lol: )

Hi Piet,
Just listened to the samples of the Savage Circus tracks and they sound pretty good to me. I was enjoying the intros and waiting to hear what the vocals sounded like, always a crucial point, and I was impressed. I particularly liked the first Demo, Evil Eyes, it had a little bit of everything about metal that I like. Are you having any writing input into this album?
Good luck with this project and thanks for giving me Iron Savior.

BG's split is sad...but Thomen's new band "SAVAGE CIRCUS" is great news. 2 demos are pretty good.
I also have some questions for Piet. The debut album that will be released in Sept, how many tracks does it have? Who is the composer? Did you compose some for it?
anyhow we are looking forward to hearing the album :D

..And I don't know what to say... Thomen tries to show his ex-collegaues what kind of music must play BG? Or he is sure in commercial success of his new band?

I have just heard Thomen got some problems on tour and SC decided to replace drummer by... Thomas Nack! Isn't it unbelievebale?:))))
Sorry for evil humour, but what's wrong with Thomen? He broke his compressor? Hoh... Shame on me :( :oops: Really I think it's something reasonable but not serious!
SC come to Russia on 1-2 of Sep. 2006. Of course, I'll be there! I love Piet, I love SC, and I do love Thomas, just let us know it isn't wrong such news?:)

I´ve heard that, too. But Thomas is such a great drummer. So why not?!
Only problem is that so many ppl just want to see Thomen play. :?
I´ve heard that they even had to cancel concerts because so many ppl wanted their money back. Such a shame. :(

There's nothing amazing: this is Thomens group! How can he miss consert show? From the other side: SC might be in Russia in April, and that must be their 3-5 consert :D, but they had to cancel.
But...
I don't mind - I love Thomass style of playing then Thomens... :cry: :oops:
