Hello everyone
I am SymphonicX - I live in the UK, London to be exact and I LOVE power metal....!!
Iron Savior really changed the way I listened to power metal...providing a stark contrast between heavier moments and melodic moments, with a unique vocalist in Piet. MY favourite IS song is Solar Wings, which we all know Kai sings, but to be completely honest I am not a big fan of Kai even though I love this song...Its very difficult being this divided! Either way though - Iron Savior kicks ass...!!!
anyway - here is my question, its probably been answered SOOO many times already but I have done a search and couldn't find anything.
Why is there a Masterplan song that is EXACTLY the same as After the War from Dark Assault? Everything is there, except the lyrics and the classical interlude. I don't really like Masterplan and someone gave me a copy of their album, and after hearing the first few bars of this song I nearly went crazy! I played my girlfriend the Iron Savior version (which I believe is superior) and we jsut couldn't believe it!
We are theorising that there was some sort of joint writing effort from the boys in both bands - but what's the story behind it? Has it ever been discussed?
I see Piet posts here - maybe he's given an insight into it?
Anyway - IS rules!!!! Love the Seal cover too...very original!

After the War was written by the former bass player of Iron Savior (cannot remember his name... ack... alzheimers!), and when he left the band to play in Masterplan, he took the song and remade it a little bit.

Yeah, Crazy is great. I first time I heard the song (that I remember) was on David Copperfield's "Illusion" DVD. I liked the song but never bothered to find out who was behind it. Imagine my surprise when I hear something familiar in my first listening of Condition Red!
Yeah, I love the atmosphere in Iron Savior songs. You know? That IS world I'm sure Piet spends half his life in ;)

I bet it's "After this war" from second Masterplan album "Aeronautics".
About Jan - S. in his name is shortened "Soren" - if somebody wondering what means "S.":)
