    A lot of people complain that Yari Samurai is overpowered, he's an undestroyable tank and so on.

    I don't agree with most of those statements, but I think that one thing about him could be changed.

    His whirling yari skill. In AoM for example, such spells can be evaded, dodged. Here, it can't be. It's probably because this spell has 0 sec casting time.

    I think that it should be able to be evaded. The damage could be increased, but imo it shouldn't always hit. Omnimoy's freezing breath is easier to dodge than this.

    Yari is fine. His lack of useable skills counter his 2k hp and 100+ damage (without items).

    I've found that two heros should hav eno problem taking him down if they're trying to hero kill with him, however, if they're using a tank build (most likely the "pimp" build I'm so well known for. -_^), it'll take all six enemy players. Regardless, he's not going to get a single kill in that build, but won't get a single death either. So really, he's just running around pushing and killing creeps. That's not imba to me, nor do I think it should be considered imbalance.



    I've written out an equation for all heros, and actually, according to the equation, Yari should have 50 less HP at level 20 than he does. That's not much of a problem, nor is it hard to fix/balance. However, if we're to talk about heros needing a re-working... Did you know... Onmyoji is actually the weakest hero? He is!


    Ugh crap, I havn't gotten to finish my statement, but I must go join this SL that Gir is hosting.... I'll come bcak and edit this later.

    You can't possibly have "an equation for all heroes". You would have to assume that all heroes should have the same average end stats, but there is no reason why this should be the case.

    1)I agree with Knot on the fact there is nothing wrong with Yari

    2)In a fair fight,if yari decides to back out when he needs to no way 2 heros can take him down.

    You're actually wrong, there, tegeus. All heros, based on how m uch damage they do, how much hp, attack speed, move speed, and everything else that matters, have a certain equation. Mathmatics are teh win.

    I was talking about a change which wouldn't nerf him. It would make playing him a bit more difficult.

    I've seen games where some newbie chose Yari and some other newbie chose Ronin(or maybe this one which splits) which is more difficult to play. He got disheartened, because of being pawned by Yari. He complained that it's imba and left.

    In a game with skilled players only there are no such problems, but this Yari really does frighten off new potential fans of SL.

    Simply explain to them how Yari is a tank, and requires multiple people to kill (usually). Set up a gank with your ally. Don't nerf a hero (or alter him) simply because some players are playing for their first time.

    So you don't think that making whirling yari stronger, but dodgeable, like for example pirate's skill when he throws enemy above himself or tauren's spinning skill from AoM, would be good?

    Personaly i always thought itd be a good idea for Yaris ability to be dodgable,but its such a litle deal,i gave it litle thought...eather way wat can we do.

    Whirling Yari takes enough skill to use correctly as is. You have to get around them and possition it to push them where you wish. It's his ONLY nuke, his ONLY damage skill (sha technique isn't exactly a damage skill, hell, it's fucking useless.)

    Explain to the whiny bitch Yari players that they're a tank, and one that NEEDS a ganking in order to die. It's THAT simple. Much like I'm explaining to you to explain, you explain to them that Yari needs a gank, and in a 1v1 he's pretty hard to kill. (Though I feel certain heros would win a 1v1 with him, Shinobi being a major one.)


    Yari is the "Tank" char in Samurai Legends. Anyone who picks him accepts the fact that they're going to be ganked. That's their own game, and own choice. Tell them to, in the future, never play Samurai Legends game again. Because... it's a team game. You work together for kills. And you HAVE to if you're going to attack a Yari.

    Sha technique(the one when strenght increases) is mainly usefull when pawning towers, but there are only a few other situations when it's useful.

    I came up with a thought for one way of adding some skill to the Whirling Yari:

    Would it be possible to add triggers or whatever to change the amount of damage depending on where it hits from? My idea was this:

    Lower the base damage to just 20+str/40+str/60+str/80+str/100+str, but make it cause multiplied damage if hit from the side or the back of the target. For example if you hit the target from the front it causes only 1x damage. If hit from the left- or right side it would cause 2x damage, and finally if it hits the back it causes 3x damage. Considering the Yaris slow move speed it wouldn't make it an imba chase skill.

    You can dodge yari whirl w/ Flying Ddeath, Way of Death , Old man's friend, abstraction, shdaow, Flying Daggers, omnyoji's anti-magic, Raising Dragon, I think Order of the Dragon, there may be more I dunno. Also, yari is fine, he's hard to kill, and hard to kill with.

    Like the idea forbidden... though... that'd be a nasty trigger I'd bet.

    And Andri or whatever... Sha Tech is actually the passive that does minor aoe damage. The str with each hit is ACTUALLY BattleRage. That skill is very useful because it increases the damage of Whirling, AND is great for getting the shit out of combat when you're near death. It's backfall is when it wears off... you instantly lose a ton of str... Meaning instantly losing a ton of HP.

    I've, for the longest time, wanted to see whirling go, sha go, and give him a total workover on just being a TANK. We don't have someone who is 100% a tank yet... And Yari is the closest thing. I personally love a tank. Someone with no offensives, just defensives... It's fun to play, and really fun to annoy enemys with it. And ALWAYS a good choice for beginning players. I've wanted to replace whirling and sha with some sort of defensive ability for ages now... But chances of that happening are slim to none.

    It's the same equation we have when balancing guns in Tank Wars Evolution. Only... modified to work with Samurai Legends.
