    0.87 Changes + Wishlist
    Done so far:

    Code: v 0.87:

    - Some optic changes to the scoreboard
    - You can now combine/create items even with full inventory
    - Reduced damage of Ronin and Onmyoji by 5
    - "Kaze" no longer goes through magic immunity
    - "Fujin`s Breath" now deals reduced damage to buildings

    - Reduced gold cost of Scroll of Negation to 150
    - Ring of Life now also gives +5 armor (1000 gold now)

    - Smoothened some rough edges of the terrain
    - Shops are now shown on the minimap

Also I´m currently working on a new ranged caster hero, theme thunder:

Some may be surprised that he`s ranged but we still need more ranged heroes, imo.
Some ability ideas would be nice, especially support abilities.

Also I´m working on a new shop in the bottom lane, the 2 honor armors of the smith will be moved there to make some place for some basic attribute items (+3 str/agi/int). And of course there will be new items in too.

Any other changes you want to see? Balance? Items?

Ah, this should be fun. I love casters! IIRC, you've been thinking about a thunder-themed mage for a while now, right? What sort of direction do you have in mind? I assume Chain Lightning is not quite it. :P

Basic attribute items are very welcome, but how about a medium attribute item for Int as well? Str and Agi can currently buy Helmets of the Dragon for a relatively cheap and substantial boost, but Int has to get an honour cost item.

    Re: 0.87 Changes + Wishlist

    Forbidden - 26.11.2006, 13:29

So you were thinking of role to be support?

    Re: 0.87 Changes + Wishlist

    nooK - 27.11.2006, 18:12

    For the basic item:

Code: A magical amulet which increases the wearer`s primary attribute by 3.
    Costs 400 gold.

    Is this ok?

Hero: No real concept yet, so suggest skill please or a whole hero ;)

    Re: 0.87 Changes + Wishlist

    tegeus-Cromis - 28.11.2006, 07:06

Sounds good, but do you mean heroes can only buy this thing for their primary attribute? I would think having three versions that any hero can buy would make more sense, since it is not always your primary attribute you wish to boost.

Ha, if this were a few months back, I would have a whole hero written out and posted within a half hour of reading that. Sadly I am in the middle of finals. :P

You`re right, pushing int sometimes makes sense, damn all the good code for nothing ;)

Good luck and if you are tired from learning, write some hero ;)

can you give some more details on what kind of skills you are considering for this hero? im very interested.

i just started playing, but im not so great because hardly any games get hosted.

btw im the 100 registered user. do i get a cookie?

Maybe they'll throw a pie at your face. Or you get a free 1€ shopping spree, too bad there's nothing we can offer to sell :) . By the way...if you're registered, why post as a quest?

So, the new version is coming soon? Say in 2 or 3 weeks?

    Re: 0.87 Changes + Wishlist

    nooK - 03.12.2006, 12:16

Probably I send KoNL a beta soon, then they shall test for balancing. No new heroes in the next version as the balance things seem to be more important.

    Re: 0.87 Changes + Wishlist

    Anonymous - 06.12.2006, 05:27

hmm.. well I got some suggestion
How about adding some better items? what I mean, like make items that gives better stats
and for starters, probably add a cgheap item that gives +3 to all stats, and +3 extra for one Stats, idk the name of that item in DotA sorry xD

and Heros are so slow imo, you should make them faster
and how about giving more money? coz it's only 300 something at the start isn't?
    it's kinda hard then

Towers are quite hard to destroy.. idk if they have a lot of hp, or what

More characters huh? Can't think of a job, but I could think of some elements though

how about um... Like a Big Native Tribesman like that?
if you have played Dynasty Warriors 4, or basically Dynasty Warrios, why not get a similar hero like the Nanman tribe in DW 4?
this should be easier, why not just get some ideas for character from Dynasty Warrios, or even Samurai Warriors if you got it xD

A Pirate would be good, and some Magic caster, My say is to have more Strength hero, coz not many right now I think
a Thief? doesn't relate to Japanese at all really :(

    Re: 0.87 Changes + Wishlist

Sorry for the double post, I couldn't edit :(

    Got more Ideas :D
how about some Shama? Spearman's and some Bombadier?
as for the name, You gotta think by yoursel,f because I'm not good at making the names sorry :(

How about some new hero like an Alchemist? or an Witch/Sorcerer or what? :D or how about an Cannoneer?(sorry if I wrong wrote it )
ok so, how about u make a new recipe shop for the newest version?????
i'll hope-ing if u make sum magic caster

You may have not realized, but this game doesn't want to be anywhere near what DotA is. We dislike DotA. We value skill greatly over item abilities. Thats why we will not add mass stat raising items. So we would appreciate it if you didn't try to add in elements from DotA into this game. This is NOT DotA, and it will NEVER be DotA.

Adding new heroes is being worked on. We already have sufficient ideas for new heroes and your heroes don't really fit into the feudal era japan theme. We must take note of the filesize when adding new heroes. We will add them only after thorough work. So try not to shoot at us with incomplete ideas, prepare the hero idea thoroughly yourself and then post it.

If he cares for information about those 2 games he could simply ask me instead of getting the games somewhere himself. I have played both and own DW5.

Dynasty Warriors is not a good source for info, because it takes place in China, in short wrong country.

Samurai Warriors instead, well that's an excellent source of info and ideas:
    1. It happens in feudal Japan era.
    2. It has people who really existed according to history and folktales in it.

In other words the characters you play with have really existed during that time-period.

I agree with your post in the main, but this Quote: You may have not realized, but this game doesn't want to be anywhere near what DotA is. We dislike DotA. We value skill greatly over item abilities. Thats why we will not add mass stat raising items. So we would appreciate it if you didn't try to add in elements from DotA into this game. This is NOT DotA, and it will NEVER be DotA. I have to take issue with. Say what you like about not wanting DotA-scale items in SL--that is fair, and right--but the idea that DotA is all about farming for 1 hour and then basically attack-moving with GG items is an idea born out of -em pubs. DotA as played at high levels is every bit as skill-based as SL, and there is much of value in its gameplay.

I hope I don't sound like a broken gramophone here, but I am really tired of this kneejerk DotA-hatred. Ideas are so often shot down on the basis that they are 'Ugh, like something from DotA'; very often they do deserve to be shot down, but not for this reason. Let's have a little more critical thought, please.

I know that DW is China, but still you could get Jobs from it :D
so.. not like DotA huh?? well.. It could have been very good imo, I will definitely play this game if this is like DotA, but now it makes it very hard to play, this game actually took me longer to play than DotA, because well.. I guess DotA is still the best....

The fact that you're not good at this game being a newbie to it is HOW IT SHOULD BE! You shouldnt be able to walk into a SKILL based game and pwn hard straight away.

    Enough said.

    RedDragoon - 08.12.2006, 17:24

How about he can summon? I think it would be kinda cool to have a hero summon some creeps :)

A horsemen charge could be cool for an ult. It could have a thunder theme to it, and it would be kinda like the Beastmasters stamepede.

Also maybe he could have a skill that increases his attack with the power of lighting?

I don't know though I am just throwing out ideas.

    Re: 0.87 Changes + Wishlist

    PhiniX - 20.12.2006, 15:07

I must agree with forb and shadow , every AoS base styled map has his own style and should NEVER compared with an other AoS! There are so many different things between ToB, DotA , SL , LoL2 , AoM and so on and so on , can you compare them ? No you can't , btw if you like DotA more play it , but don't post something like 'i would like to see some things that DotA have in it' , i must repeat myself , every AoS map has his own style , and if you steal or just copy things from other AoS maps the map will never get his own style.

Also i must say something to this :

Quote: I know that DW is China, but still you could get Jobs from it
so.. not like DotA huh?? well.. It could have been very good imo, I will definitely play this game if this is like DotA, but now it makes it very hard to play, this game actually took me longer to play than DotA, because well.. I guess DotA is still the best....

Quote: not like DotA huh?? ... what do you mean ? Don't try to add things from DotA into this map , it would destroy it -_-

Quote: I will definitely play this game if this is like DotA, but now it makes it very hard to play, this game actually took me longer to play than DotA read the posts ... as forb said this map will never be the same as DotA , and btw , this game is based on high quality skill teamwork , so how long it takes is not the thing to say if it takes you 2 hours i will never play it because i can play 3 DotA's in that time.

    think of it .. PhiniX

    Viziroth - 21.12.2006, 03:15

Tegeus your right. True pro DotA does take some skill, I know my friend and I were gonna make a clan but I lost intrest when DotA started getting like 50 updates daily...

How ever, the reason people dis items or features because they'd be "too much like DotA" it isn't actually that they are DotA-ish but because their concept of DotA is overly powerful items and the ilk so thus it's basically a phrase that means imba or rigged or broken.

We deffinately chould keep this game skill based and limit the items' power which I havn't seen problems w/ but I havn't tested .87 yet.

Item suggestion(short so posting it here): a blade that increases your AS but lowers your dmg(small or light blade) and armor that raises MS but lowers armor(light cloth,m obviously would be cheaper than boots b/c of armor loss) or armor that raises speed over all at the cost of armor. Just saying this b/c somewhere someone said we need another attack speed boost item

Also, I too would enjoy a summoner...altho I don't know how well ballencing would go on a summoning focus hero.

And one finally thing, I would like consumeables to stack. If they do already sorry for mentioning this. ^.^'

Sometimes when you look at it one way or another,DotA sucks sometimes with the lack of events and triggers, only 3 lanes, and just kill the Ancient.DDay is one of my favourites, those that had the map should know, and Samurai Legends to me is MASSACRE,especially when i use the Ninja's flying daggers...Or the No-Dachi Samurai's Order of the Six.Although sometimes it may be a little disappointing that the stats ain't that good.I can always just slowly take my time to make 3 Zanbatos(Uh mainly for all 3 stats, not reincarnate),1 Nine Headed Dragons(for Lifesteal XD),and the +10 agility sword.(forgot it's name, for the stat, not silence)

    Shadow Phoenix - 24.12.2006, 03:15

That sounds really good nooK, awesome.

One thing i'd like to see changed. The ring giving +4 regen and +5 armour? While the concept of it having some armour on the regen ring is a good one.

5 armour is alot, you give a Yari 4 regen rings and its already insane. You give him +20 armour on top of that then..

    Enough said.

    Re: 0.87 Changes + Wishlist

    nooK - 24.12.2006, 12:23

    Thanks =)

I go for +3 or +2 armor then I guess.

Also spawned elite archers need some kind of nerf I guess, maybe lowering damage by 5 or 10...

I suggest you reduce their attack speed. Even if they are pretty close to the enemy when looking at the game screen, it's not like they shoot that rapidly in reality.

    Re: 0.87 Changes + Wishlist

    Lyncor - 25.12.2006, 04:19

Or better yet, make it spawn normal archers - or perhaps, only slightly buffed ones :)

After all, the Strength shrine only spawns normal Yari Cavalry.

Great idea with the legendary and honor from the order. But why'd you havta increase cost of anit-magic =(

    Re: 0.87 Changes + Wishlist

    Skirn - 31.12.2006, 06:51

    Because it's so abusable.

Even if you bring Scrolls of Negation or use the sword Dispell magic, it's still something that can get someone out of any gank almost untouched. And with Net/Kaze no longer going through AMS, it had to have some kind of drawback.

So, it just makes sense that it'd cost more now that you HAVE to negate it to hit them with anything.

    Re: 0.87 Changes + Wishlist

    nooK - 31.12.2006, 12:06

Yes AM is so strong especially against pubs...It still makes sense to buy it for certain situations but it shall not be used all the time.

    Re: 0.87 Changes + Wishlist

    Lyncor - 01.01.2007, 05:59

The extra cost on AM is definitely a worthwhile deterrent. Personally, I no longer spam it any more like I used to - the cost makes it so that you can't. It's good. Yet, it's not so expensive that it's not worth carrying one for emergencies when you -know- you need it.

    Good move.

    Hero Skill
Mr. nooK, how about a new hero with a skill similar to blink? i think its kinda cool to watch a samurai, a ninja, or a ronin-like hero to 2 blink.. just like in some anime, most characters blink.. its just a suggestion though..

Is there a tentative date of the release of 0.87?

How do i play with Hamachi?

    Re: 0.87 Changes + Wishlist

    Stiffleg - 08.01.2007, 20:59

I don't know, still, what the standing is on the new Hero, as for abilities and stats. However, I feel he should be a strength-based character with a variety of buffs.

    Reason being:
    You have an Int-based Warlord.
You have a ranged (agility?) based unit.
Now you're adding a new ranged unit, (mounted I believe, as the picture looked) and would likely attack faster the higher it's agility got.

    Str: Highest,
    Agility: Lowest
    Int: Middle.

For abilities, I think they should be complete buff's, to where you could only use 1 buff -at a time-.

    "Bullseye"
Increases Critical hit-rate, yet decreasing the damage dealt (Half % of critical-hit rate for damage dealt by criticals. Such as 50 hit-rate/ 25 damage dealt reduction) for all allies nearby.

    "Retreat"
Increases Evasion, yet decreases armor by (1 or 2?) for all allies nearby.

    "Elemental"
Shields target with thunder to improve armor for (15 seconds +5? per level) while dealing damage over time. (10 hp per second , -1 hp per level?)

As for the Ultimate: I have three Ideas

    "Raining Bolts"
Similar to WC3's Blizzard, yet with electric graphical effects. May already be implemented, so it may not be a great idea.

    "Imbued Thunder"
Imbues the user's weapon with electricity, causing a Damage over time chance on hit (5+5 per level, 10% + 10% per level). This may be imba, though.

    "ReVamp"
User vanishes as a bolt of thunder strikes (dealing no damage) and allowing the character to disappear and reappear elsewhere. (In other words, it is a blink. Though, as blink can be abused, my thought is to have it as an Ultimate, requiring a hefty amount of MP, -or- decent amount of cooldown. Or both.)

OK, it's good that at least someone (else than me) is interested in getting the new hero out.

Me and Omerta have worked on an idea for this hero as well. I believe nooK knows this already. Omerta sould post the idea tomorrow (if he finds the time - he'd better or I'll have his head :D ). It's not like what Stiffleg suggested, but it is however unlike the existing heroes. After Omerta posts our idea, I think nooK will then decide what to do with the new hero. Of course if he feels like it, he could just make the hero Stiff suggested. We're all at his mercy after all :) .

    Anyway, tomorrow...or else Omer...

Umm... so you've never seen Yumi do Rain of Arrows, then?

If you've never seen that, you obviously haven't played SL much.. and if that's true.. should you really be suggesting a new hero? o.O

    Re: 0.87 Changes + Wishlist

    Stiffleg - 09.01.2007, 19:09

Yumi's ability is ice based, Lyncor. My thought was having something similar yet thunder/bolt based. I apologize for not being very creative, but that's no reason to be offensive.

    Re: 0.87 Changes + Wishlist

    Shadow Phoenix - 10.01.2007, 03:08

I apologise on behalf of my friend Lyncor if you have been offended. Its just that we've had alot of times when new people who have hardly played the map post a whole lot of stuff like..

"This would be awesome, and there should be there is!" Etc etc..

And half the time theres something already like that in the game or it so totally wouldnt fit in with the genre of SL that its just painful to read an deal with over and over.

I do not believe Rain of Arrows is ice based, i think they are merely shiney sparkly blue magic arrows. But what Lyncor means is that having two abilities that pretty much do the same thing but just look different is a bit redundant.

I actually like your idea for a teleportation ultimate, it would mean that the hero while not having a large damage nuke would be extremely versatile as they could teleport anywhere without need of a teleport scroll which takes up a valuable slot. To make up for the lack of a powerful ultimate i think their other skills would need to at least have one damage based to make up for it and not make them a straight attack hero and have a skill which requires just that, some skill.

Your ideas are good, what Lyncor was trying to get across, if a bit blunt.. was play the game more, get to know all aspects of it, and then you could make some really good suggestions once you have a good understanding of the map and know what there is, and what you think there should be.

Keep up the good work :D

Yeah... sorry about my bluntness. I was tired, groggy and a little grumpy at the time of posting :)

    Shadow's correct on my intentions.

    Re: 0.87 Changes + Wishlist

    Stiffleg - 11.01.2007, 02:20

Then my apologies for two reasons: I had not looked at the suggestions board to see examples of other suggestions, and I had been groggy from little sleep as well to take offense. ^_^
So, let's keep this thread going with wish-lists.

My wish-list for .87 or any future new version, and this is far-fetched, would be a set-aside "1 on 1 dueling arena" built within the map. It would feature a small, closed-off area for a duel of skill and strength, with both duelists consenting.

I know this -may- seem like turning a good AoS into an Arena map, but it serves two-fold in my eyes.
1: You've got a reason to hate or challenge someone (Ally and enemy, not just enemy) and can't do much due to being on the same team or major interference from mobs (the spawns) and interference.

2: It adds a fun feature that (yes, is seen in feudal era japan video-games) resembles two hot-heads going at it for pride or hatred.

Personally, I think Honor, gold, and experience should not be gained from this, due to possible abuse.

"So, what's the point" you might ask?

1.5 x normal death-wait. You've just been defeated in a head-on challenge. You need to recover both your body -and- morale.

    Anyways, that's my wishlist idea.

    Re: 0.87 Changes + Wishlist

    Lyncor - 11.01.2007, 03:25

Okay, this idea I like rather a lot. Often in a game, I'll want to challenge an enemy hero to a 1v1 duel - but creep get in the way, or another hero comes and messes it up. Having a specific arena area where you can have a battle of honour and fully duke it out against another player sounds extremely cool.

It would also be really great for those pubs who act like complete asshats and keep saying that they are better than everyone - but really aren't. I'd love to just slaughter them in a controlled, fair, 1v1 environment and make them realise that hey, if they're going to talk trash, they better at least be able to back up what they claim :)

I know Reaper would love this for Yari vs Yari duels... and I get the feeling I'd duel Skirn all the time with Ronin vs Ronin.

Some suggestions, if this is put in:

-Challenges can only be made and accepted if both heroes are already on full health and mana. This prevents abuse such as using it to escape from a situation.

-The system doesn't get in the way of playing the game, such that 'challenging someone' would be akin to popping a window in front of them that messes up what they're doing in the game. It needs to be a discreet system, that can't be used offensively as a 'ha, made you miss your FD' tool.

-It's already been mentioned, but there should be -no- gold, honour, experience or -anything- awarded for winning or losing one of these duels. They should be purely for player vs player purposes, not to make an impact in the actual AoS.

    Re: 0.87 Changes + Wishlist

    Viziroth - 11.01.2007, 03:37

you can have a sytem that says like with hero kills XXXX has challenged YYY to a duel, and then the challenger would have to actually type Yes or I accept. Then it'd say whether they accepted or not. This way if they decline people can rag them on it lol. And since it's just text it won't interfer.

    Re: 0.87 Changes + Wishlist

    Forbidden - 11.01.2007, 09:48

The duel idea is most interesting. As long as it's optional it will be fine. A Yari vs a Yumi will be ugly if the Yumi has no chance to decline the challenge.

I think you could implement something small to it. Whoever kills a hero in the game gets 100 gold and 6 honor, so why not get maybe only 1-2 honor points if he wins in the duel? Put some limit to it: like, everyone can only duel each enemy once. Then it couldn't be abused.

Also, It's a huge disgrace to decline someones challenge in Japanese culture. It means you are afraid, you are a coward ; and that's a big shame. So I thought that it would be ok to have some kind of backfire effect on it if you declined a duel. Something like, if you decline the duel, your forces all have their attack dmg reduced by X% for X%seconds, as if their moral dropped because 1 of their warriors is a coward, you know? This is something that was a part of Dynasty Warriors 4, the duel system, accepting/declining increases/decreases army moral. I think it wouldn't be too bad at all.

However I agree that it must have some limit, definitely, or then it is too easy to be abused.

I had an idea for the method of acsepting and chalanging someone to a duel to the death. It may be inpractical but i thowt it was a cool idea.
on the screan text apears saying you hav been chalanged to a duel then a item apears on the ground infront of you this item is glove or guntlet and you have to pick this item up to acsept the chalange. Also to chalnge some one maby you buy a glove from one of the shops and u righ click it then a window apares that gives you a choice off who to chalange...Just an idea and as i said i thought it could be cool but it may not work.... :D

    Re: 0.87 Changes + Wishlist

    Lyncor - 12.01.2007, 02:58

I stand by my view that the duels have to have no gold/honour/xp impact upon the actual AoS. Duelling the same person again and again is FUN, why put in things that make you need to limit that?

There's honour in the game... and then there's honour between the players, outside of the game, while they're playing. This dueling system needs to appeal to that second kind of honour - the honour between players. As such, it should have no impact on the AoS beyond character death.

    Re: 0.87 Changes + Wishlist

    nooK - 12.01.2007, 03:08

Quote: Is this the official website of Samurai Legends? I thought this is just the forum section.. What i mean is the site where you can find Hero and item infos, etc..
Yes there is no real page at the moment, only this forum.

The duel idea is nice, I never wanted something like dueling but if it only works when both heroes are at full health & mana so it can`t be abused it sounds good to me.

    Re: 0.87 Changes + Wishlist

    Anonymous - 12.01.2007, 18:00

I have to say I'm also against the idea of things like penalties for declining a duel. This would totally screw over weak 1v1 heroes or heroes who for whatever reason have been having a bad game, as a powerful enemy could just challenge them over and over again. It would also become a cheap way of stopping a push (I think this is self-explanatory).

Here's how I see it working:

The challenger types a command (-challenge, for example). A menu pops up giving him a choice of who to challenge. When he makes a choice, two extra skill buttons appear on the challengee's skillset for, say, 5 seconds:

    1) Accept and teleport to arena 2
    2) Decline

These buttons would have no associated hotkeys, to prevent an accidental response.

If the challengee accepts, both heroes are immediately teleported to the arena and their HP and mana set to full. Upon the death of either player, the winner is returned to the point from which he was teleported, with the same HP and mana that he had when he was teleported from it.

I don't know how practical (i.e. how much of a bitch) this would be to implement, but this is the best solution I can think of from a gameflow perspective.

Lyncor: Quote: It's already been mentioned, but there should be -no- gold, honour, experience or -anything- awarded for winning or losing one of these duels. They should be purely for player vs player purposes, not to make an impact in the actual AoS.

Do you mean no bonus gold etc or simply no gold etc.? I agree with the former, disagree with the latter. Why shouldn't you get your normal bounty and XP for winning a duel?

    Re: 0.87 Changes + Wishlist

    Vladhslavh - 12.01.2007, 19:12

errr... will the duel winner gain the normal experience for a hero killing? becouse if not, then there is no reason at all to duel since you will lost some time dueling (if both heroes have pots "almost certain") you are going to lose some amouth of exp/gold for pushing. souds like a punishment for a yari. ^^

again sry for the poor english. =P

dont need for a duel, this map is so big its easy to have a fight 1vs1 with no creeps! and if u chose a bad 1vs1 hero and dont want duel the other player will call u pussy etc and flame war will begin u will see BTW sorry for my bad english :) cool map ;)

    Re: 0.87 Changes + Wishlist

    Lyncor - 15.01.2007, 02:31

The lack of gold/xp was intended to prevent abuse of the system.

People here are nice ^.^. Btw was wondering what will the fire shrine nerf be? And maybe there can be a shrine of numbers or swarm that'll produce 2 ashigaru.

    Re: 0.87 Changes + Wishlist

    Lyncor - 17.01.2007, 05:46

I'd like to see the fire shrine spawn regular archers that do 5 more damage and have a flaming arrow animation on their attack.

Veteran Archer, you could call it. Then you'd have the regular ones, the veteran ones and the elite archers that you can buy at the shop. Which, unless they get a nerf too, need to cost as much as Yari Cavalry (700).

    Re: 0.87 Changes + Wishlist

    Yari cavalry costs 500.

It costs 500 now? Man, mercs are spammable these days.. well, elite archer is at the moment the 'best' unit... so it should still cost 700.

    Re: 0.87 Changes + Wishlist

    nooK - 18.01.2007, 16:46

Spammable? Only 5 of them cost 2500 and are blown away like nothing by dragon souls or flying daggers..

I was just wondering, can you estimate when the new version will be out?
Because I've been playing version 0.85 for Quite long, and I think you should release the newer version now, or soon probably :)
This game is very good, I know you're not going to release AI, could have been great though, but I guess it's fine ^^
so, could you estimate? thanks btw, and Gj!

I'm sure others want AI too.. What is really the reason why nook won't make AI on this game? Is it really not possible even in the future? just answer my questions guys and I won't bother you again with this AI stuff. ^_^x

    Re: 0.87 Changes + Wishlist

    wizard.dark - 01.02.2007, 16:26

Il be just repeating Lyncor but heres why.
In most games skills are point click. You click the skill u click the hero/unit and u damage it kill it heal it.This game has many skills like flying death. Those skills are pure ground target. As an you dont target the enemy u want to use the skill on at all.
So lets say a ronin computer wants to use flying death on you...he targets the ground where you are standing and u run back a bit.Thats it you dodged it.An expirienced player will use flying death behind you so when u run hel land right on top of you.Therefor skills like that wouldnt teach u anything when u play against the computer. If you play against the computer for hours having him target you like that and then you play against a real enemy 1 time youl be like "wtf just happened i thought i was pro at this?"and so on.
That is why AI is just not happening.

    Re: 0.87 Changes + Wishlist

    Forbidden - 01.02.2007, 20:22

AI is not happening because it takes alot of work. And that work is unnecessary. And if it takes 3 times to make it clear then I repeat what Lyncor and wizard have said before me: skills are not point and click, it's not that simple to make a challenging AI. An AI can never think exactly like us humans do. It can only play 1 style: the style it's been programmed to play.

You say you stop bothering us once we answer you. Well I say we stop bothering all of you "AI version plz" people once you answer us this: Why can't you practice like all us others do - vs other players on battle.net? Why must nooK put extra effort into making an AI version - he is already busy making balance changes, adding new stuff and finetuning the map - for you to practice on, when you can just practice on b.net vs. real live people, like everyone else does :?:

    Re: 0.87 Changes + Wishlist

    wizard.dark - 01.02.2007, 21:37

Well said.I agree NooK really has no time to make some AI version that will obviously not even work very well because it will play in 1 style of game and will probably be very easy to handle. You will NOT gain any skills from playing computer heros and you will be horrible against real players because they do not think like a program.

    Re: 0.87 Changes + Wishlist

    nooK - 02.02.2007, 20:40

I`m waiting for two days for someone of KoNL to show up at battle net, but it seems I`m always online the false times.

Only one thing, i just read your post saying X.0 and X.5 have new heros and content where ones in between have bug fixes.. but this 9.0 doesnt have anything new, just balances.. just wondering if that was intentional.

Otherwise wicked new version w00t w00t! :D Good job nooK

    Re: 0.87 Changes + Wishlist

    Vulkarus - 12.02.2007, 05:28

    The new hero
    Lightning based... hmm...

    --------------------------
an interesting skill would be a ball of lightning that will move in random directions (not very very random, if you have ever played d2 as a druid and seen twister, kinda like that) not VERY hard to do, but no simple task either.
Whenever these hit an enemy they split into 1-3 (maybe randomly) other orbs (which also move in kinda random directions) that do some low % of damage, such as 50% of previous damage, and they only split twice.
--- this would be a decent spell for killing a large mass of units
    --------------------------
another interesting (but sooo much simpler) spell -- lightning strikes at a caster picked spot and moves in a wave ( V shaped, or shockwave type if you prefer) toward the caster damaging all enemies on its path.
    --------------------------

ohh and nooK, i love your map

this post should be in the ideas section under the hero that it is for. also i believe that a spell like the second suggestion already is in SL :frost lance.

if you where meaning something different then please specify. also this hero just needs a workable ulit that fits with his other skills.

    Re: 0.87 Changes + Wishlist

    Vulkarus - 13.02.2007, 15:58

    hmm
thanks, i didn't know there was one...

and no this would be the opposite of frost lance, it would start at the user defined point and move toward the caster... also i suggested a cone shaped form, not the shockwave.

    Re: 0.87 Changes + Wishlist

    Anton - 14.02.2007, 01:05

would it just damage or stun or slow or what? this could be a awsum/imba finisher cos u just target the hero and instant damage no way to doge unless you suck at aiming the skill.
this could be interesting but what skill would it replace? all his normal skills are great in my opinion. you could make this his ulti but i think his first ulti was fine it just needs balancing.

    Re: 0.87 Changes + Wishlist

    Vulkarus - 14.02.2007, 04:41

probably just damage, maybe slow attack speed too. it would be very hard to dodge, might make a good ulti
