    Hi Paul.
Alot of the parts that I have recovered off the beach on the PB that i am researching start off like your part ,but after using a small hammer and screwdriver and weeks of chipping away you will be suprised what you end up with.
    Regards Martin

@ Nils, yes that what I thought too !
@ Martin, as it was covered by shells and other organisms I threw it in the garbagecontainer at the station yesterday.....but on second thoughts I'll transport it home today, knowing the lady won't be happy with it ! ;)

    Regards,

    Paul

    Hi Paul.
Good for you.........so when you get bored i think you will find it relaxing just to keep chipping away at that part.We will all be sat here waiting for you to post an updated picture of the finished cleaned part.If and when you have cleaned the part and you are happy with result spray with clear laquer to prevent any further deteriation.
    Regards
    Martin

    Martin,

Well for this part things have changed as my partner was touched by it when she first saw it, all covered ! She asked me to keep it in this state, like a piece of art, out of respect to all fallen crew either Allied or German....So it will be !

    Regards,

    Paul

Attached some more pics of this part. Visible is a hole with rubber in it, probably for wiring/cable. Also a cable drum can be seen.

    Hi Paul.
Have you started to clean this part yet as I know you are keeping it as a peice of art,you could start looking at the wire drum for part numbers.
