    Re: favorite tracks

    Re: favorite tracks

    atlantis - 02.07.2004, 17:27

Why am I always the last one to hear them? But I HAVE to be super-happy knowing I can hear it the same year of release!!! :P

    Re: favorite tracks

    Cryogenix - 16.07.2004, 09:10

"Tyranny of Steel, Wings of Deliverance" and "Riding Free." Machine World is also really cool and sounds like something that was cut from Judas Priest's Defenders of the Faith album. It just has a certain feel that screams that album.

Atlantis, Tyranny of Steel reminds me of "No Heros" and "Firing the Guns", only way more insane with a lot more drive and energy. It's faster paced and the guitar solo is somewhat short but keeps the energy flowing...I wish they'd taken it to an even higher level because there's a lot more they could've done with it. No band seems to go beyond what they have to do for guitar solos. Heavenly is an exception; they kept building their solos to near-perfection. Still, Iron Savior is only one of maybe five bands whose guitaring I really enjoy...

Wow! I downloaded and heard all the samples from the downloads section, they're amazing! :d I definately love the full "Time Will Tell", "Tyranny of Steel" and ofcourse, "Stand Against the King". WOW! They're all great! Lyrically, I think it's got a lot of sense and feeling. It literally takes me to a different world :) Excellent work! :P

    Re: favorite tracks

    Danbo Daxter - 22.08.2004, 00:29

No-one's mentioned "Starchaser"! I suppose I shall have to now.

Well, my personal favourites are Tyranny Of Steel, Riding Free, Starchaser, Stand Against The King and HM Powered Man (Which, to be true, reminded me of the 6-million dollar man =D )

    Re: favorite tracks

    origin - 07.10.2004, 16:17

    Certainly "Stand against the king"
    it just suits me

i mean i live in a "king-dom" and he is not that popular either
i also "stand against the king"

    the riffs are extremely powerful
    "men standing side by side"
    "ready to fight"
    "rebellion will begin"
    "burn the crown"
i just love to sing along the track

Everyone, let's welcome origin on to the IS forums!! :D

He's a friend of mine (classmate as well... no wait, busmate too!) lol ;) He's just getting to powermetal so let's all make him feel warm and cozy :D

Anyway, we've been doing a lot of literary analyses and you can see the effect... quoting to support an arguement :D lol

    Welcome, Origin! :D

    Re: favorite tracks

    rob - 29.10.2004, 19:52

Well, i would say that my favorite ones are "Battering ram", "Wings of deliverance" (Good lead section!), "Break the curse" (The outro of this song reminds me of "You'v got another thin' coming" of Priest!!!), "Starchaser" (Pure heavy metal!) and "H.M powered man. :D

    Re: Battering Ram
Of all the songs... I'd have to say Stand Against the King is my favorite. So hard to choose, though...

All-time favorite song? Probably off the "Condition Red" CD... But there are so many. Titans of Our Time, Protector, Ironbound, and Paradise all come to me at once...

    Re: favorite tracks

    atlantis - 29.12.2004, 15:55

Have I said lately that absolutely love Wings of Deliverance? :O No? Well, I do lol.

    Re: favorite tracks

    Hells_Unicorn - 04.04.2005, 05:01

    Favorite Battering Ram tracks.
It's a toss up between the title track and Star Chaser, I particularly liked the former because of Piets high toned vocal howls that precede the chorus, hense the word "Rise". The latter because of the very memorable riffs, and also the haunting chorus section right after the solo when the guitars drop out.

There isn't a bad track on this album, all the others get high marks from me. :)

    Re: favorite tracks

    atlantis - 01.11.2005, 04:36

Got the full album and it's excellent! Great composition! Excellent mixing and overall a joy to listen to. With Iron Savior (and Gamma Ray), it's usually not a question of whether I like it or not. It's more of which style they're doing.

So, for Battering Ram, I sing along more to "Starchaser", "Machine World", "Riding Free", "Tyranny of Steel" and of course, "Battering Ram.

    It's awesome! :P

    Re: favorite tracks

    metalamazon - 03.11.2005, 22:35

Considering the music, I love all songs of Battering Ram. Considering the lyrics I love "Break the Curse" "HM Powered Man" and "The Call" best. :)

    Re: favorite tracks

    atlantis - 04.11.2005, 16:54

IS lyrics seem to reflect what I try to say and believe. I especially like 'Machine World' ('Mind Over Matter' is similar).

"What is reality, and what defines to be?"

We adopt something we define as "normal" - fixed values. You have to go to school, you have to do this and that - a huge chunk of our lives we don't know who we are. We just follow a reality fixed by someone else.

We can't fly, they say... the stars are far away - what if it isn't? How many times do we actually question what we take as obvious.

Why are we alive? Is to to go to school, study some more, work, retire and die? Who advances - we or society? Is there "more to life"?

I believe there is, we're just scared to explore it because we can't think of an alternate reality. It isn't easy to say "I can walk through a wall", when ten billion people are damn sure you can't.

    Ugh... I'm ranting again :P

Anyway, IS lyrics seem to reflect my own thoughs, and so I like! :D

    Re: favorite tracks

    metalamazon - 04.11.2005, 22:52

I really like the Iron Savior story...even if it was a bit confusing sometimes. I mean, I started when the very first IS CD was released, and tried to read all the stuff in the booklets...sometimes it seemed to make time jumps backwards or forwards, and sometimes I seemed too dumb to follow the thread of the story, but I think it is really a fascinating SF-story.

I mean, I´ve been a Metalhead almost all my life (I started with Judas Priest when I was 14, lol) and I´ve been an SF-fan almost all my life (I started with StarWars when I was 11, lol) so a band who connect both is something like a dream come true for me.

    :)

Not been into metal and Sci-Fi as long as you have, but those two combinations work for me as well ;)

Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy was what really got me into the SciFi thing, although it's not really SciFi.

lol I think nobody has been a metalhead for as long as I have...I mean, ok...a few ppl, but when I count correctely, its 27 years of metal for me this year. :)
And my doc says my hearing is excellent, lol... 8)

Hitchhiker´s guide is cool, but somehow it´s not real SciFi for me, after all, its not serious, or what would you say? :?

Battering Ram album is a great work!
I think anything fast is better... so... only "Time Will Tell" the "Tyranny of Steel" !

    What I like.
I'm sensitive kinda... Or I think I am...
I like it when the lyrics or music move me.
I like Battering Ram, for it gives me a powerful feeling, and I like Starchaser because the lyrics mean a lot to me.

I also like Machine World, the force in that "deep down below the desert`s sand"... is very cool.
For me it reflects impotence. I've felt it sometimes, when you think you know enough, but still it seems you can't make things out.
All that knowledge... All that wisdom...
    Ans still things fail.
