Post Post subject: Are you officially Fed Up with the Official SR.com Boards! Reply with quote

Maybe this is not the place to vent my frustration, but I'm really sick of the official SR.com boards. I'm so tired of adding topics only to have them removed. My "Come to USA" topic got deleted once again and only after 10 days on inactivity. I thought they gave all topics up to 30 days???. I still see topics still on there that haven't been respond to for weeks! I've been busy the past two weeks & didn't get much of a chance to post but I was going to today! I wanted everyone to know I have a petition to get SR to come to the USA on the web. I'll add it back and make sure I post to it everyday even if no one else does. That place will never be the same! I long for the forum that was around before the big crash in 2005. Sorry to complain! Does anyone else feel this way?

Hey Di,
Not been here myself in a while, sorry for the delay.

As far as my opinion of the Mindfield...

The magic we had in '05 is gone. The fandom is well and truly divided now. The band don't post like they used to. People seem to have moved on and found other priorities.

I will say that the atmosphere on the Mindfield has improved somewhat since last year, some people seem to be talking again, and occasionally some topics discussing the MUSIC get some love.

But is it somewhere I want to be? No.

A few who lurk here are aware that I wrote Admin (Elaine/Linda/Byron/Mystery Meat) last year and asked for my user account to be removed from the forum, 'cause I was oh so tired of the fandom bull$#it. I also aired my grievances upon request after they removed me.

I was told at that time that if anyone had any issues with the forum, that they should come to Admin with their concerns so they can address those issues. So I would recommend you write in and talk with them about things.

I'll remain blissfully anonymous there, have had no social drama since leaving the Mindfield and sealing up my MySpace, and I hope for that trend to continue. Mind you, I didn't let the bassist's birthday go unacknowledged.... Winken Rock!: Since the brothers don't have a MySpace yet, I didn't have a choice. Everyone else I can just message privately now, and I actually prefer it that way. No one can compare notes and get up in my business then.

Well, anyway, I'd suggest giving Admin a poke over e-mail and see what they say. In the meantime, maybe try doing some legwork with your local radio stations and venues to drum up support. WNUA in Chicago has been hitting 'Stay' pretty heavily lately, so I'm holding out hope for a stop on that 18-month tour they're talking 'bout...

...after all, if Chicago is good enough for the likes of Stevie Wonder and Herbie Hancock... Winken

Take it easy, Di, chat soon.

Hey Shannon,

I know we talked about this on the phone but I still feel a bit upset about it all. However, I've decided to just add another topic back & not bother the Admin over there as to what happened since it won't bring back the old topic that has been deleted.

I'll just have to make sure to keep my new 'North American Support Team" topic updated every couple of days to avoid this issue. I'm just disappointed with how things turned out on SR.COM forums and wish we still had the good old days. They were great form the Home Release in 2003-till the 2005 web site crash. Most likely that great feeling will not happen again but all we can do is try.

You don't need to keep bumping your topic...you've done the one thing that will save it from deletion. Winken Smile!

It is sad that we've lost that cool vibe...but hey, it was great when it lasted...and some friendships have survived the loss. So there's something to be thankful for!! Sehr glücklich
