Nice to see you!  Hope you're OK! Yes, talking about me, I try to watch this place on a regular basis, not sure whether others still visit this forum.
Yep, you're right, it has become pretty silent all around our fave band since the gigs in May. But hey, there's that small red fire we all keep on burning until Mick & Co finally return from parental leave!

Hey Michi,
Good to see you too. I've been OK, things are actually pretty good at the moment. Been thinking about why I've been gone...had something happen recently that really got me thinking...will waffle about it a bit over in Song For You...as it's mostly music-focused. |

Hi, I still check here every now and then but ashamed to admit not so often as I used to. It's been fairly quiet on Planet Red since the RAH gigs but I've been keeping up to date with the official news and keeping the red flame burning by passing on news of events to my circle of friends.

I WOULDN'T CALL IT LURKING.... JUST CURIOUS.

Yeah, I think a few people are still checking. Wondering how many people are just plain fed up though, the official forums are a ghost town, and we don't seem to have people venting here like they've done in the past.
Wonder if the October announcement had anything to do with it all? |

Sas, you might be correct, they're either fed up or the folks that have been around the longest are older and are drifting away from the 'avid fan' lifestyle they used to have.
I'm not quite sure what to expect from Mick's announcement of 'a change of musical direction' recordings/live gigs wise but I've had a few thoughts, possibly completely wrong. I'm looking forward to the forthcoming news we've been told to expect.

Happy New Year to you as well, hope it's going well for you and yours.
I hadn't thought about the "going off the fan lifestyle" angle, that's a good point. And it's kind of funny that it wouldn't occur to me, given how much I've backed off and moved on to other priorities. I guess it's cause I've witnessed a lot of the discussion going off-forum and staying within smaller groups...taking the Internet element out of it.
If you want to share your thoughts on Mick's announcement, by all means, feel free. Either on here, or privately if you wish. Free speech is still quite welcome here. |

Many thanks for the reply. As there are no tour/album annoucements at the moment it is a quiet time in 'redland' - it usually is during the extended breaks. The forum is pretty quiet too and none of the longer term members who used to post appear to do so any longer, or not so frequently but I think that's because they got more than a little fed up with the problems and squabbles on the previous site and have decided to stay away. Personally, when I joined SRIS in 1997, I joined to learn more about Mick and the band and so my quest for info continued with the change to the website. I prefer it as it is now, fewer posts and sticking mainly to sharing information on SR recordings, appearances etc and doing it in a friendly manner. I'm not opposed to the fun and games section but I very rarely look at it.
I have SR friends but I'm not quite so involved in discussions as I used to be but still passing on the info as I've always done, so not quite sure what the current topics of discussion are away from the internet.
As Martha Jean also says, things with SR appear to have changed so much recently perhaps there is nothing to say at the moment. Hopefully, when we learn more from Mick about his change of musical direction and performance, appearance, recording (if any) plans from 2010 onwards there may be a little more activity.
