Er ist so ein genialer Drummer. Habe kürzlich eine DVD gesehen...Thin Lizzy mit Michael Lee...Hammer!

Exile in Ontario
Since leaving the Tea Party, and effectively dissolving the band in the process, Jeff Martin has taken up residence in Ireland, recorded his first solo album, "Exile and the Kingdom," and commenced a Canadian tour that, early reports indicate, is being extremely well-received by our neighbors to the north.
Martin tapped Buffalo multi-instrumentalist/vocalist Nelson Starr for the keyboard slot in his touring band, which also includes former Robert Plant and Jimmy Page drummer Michael Lee, in addition to Martin's estimable guitar presence and soul-stirring singing. On record, Martin's new songs are mighty, grandiose, larger-than-life pastiches of wide-angle rock; in concert, the songs are said to pretty much explode with a force akin to Led Zeppelin.
Martin and his band play the Moose & Goose, just over the bridge in Thorold, Ont., at 54 Front St. South, at 8 p.m. Saturday. Call the club at (905) 227-6969 for ticket information.
Turn, turn, turn
One of my favorite new bands is Chicago's Russian Circles, an instrumental trio given to bone-crushing sonic exploration boasting a flair for serious dynamic manipulation and the unerring ability to tell a story in song, sans the benefit of lyrics or vocals.
The group's just-released "Enter" blends the progressive crush of latter-period Tool with a sense of "the song as event" heard in the work of outfits such as the Flaming Lips and Mercury Rev. Russian Circles is that rare band able to at once massage your brain and kick you in the stomach, hard.
The group shares a bill with hip-hop mavericks Dalek and space-rockers Isis and Zombi, inside the Showplace Theatre, 1063 Grant St., beginning at 8 p.m. Saturday.

The "Take Action Tour," featuring Matchbook Romance, Amber Pacific, Chiodos, Roses Are Red, and the Early November, visits the Buffalo Icon, 391 Ellicott St., tonight beginning at 7.
