Starting off the English section of the forum, I propose a collective web log, where users may write down their motto of the day, oppinions on current news issues, or report what they had for breakfast this morning - it doesn't matter, as long as it's in English!

I only see a pink icon, which contains changing words which are a little bit senseless - like this for example: "if (uid==o)"

Those are linux commands... and english words. If you don't get it, forget it.

Why always English? English is so boring. Everybody is forced to speak or read English - so why have I use it in my leisure time, too??
What about Latin, Greek, Sindarin, Esperanto, Klingon...?
There are so much nice languages out there but all of them are surpressed by English.
Okay, I'm not a total enemy to English. Some weeks ago I discovered Lewis Carroll's "Alice's Adventure in wonderland" and it's so nice and cute. At first you think that it is a child book but than you see all the "Anspielungen" and you love to see all these wonders in this book. And you smile all the time.

I only knew the disney movie... (naturally ) - not the book. But someone told me, that another one had compared it with a story full of drugs... and if you look at it with this defaults, you find a many allusions if you like - very funny

@Martin: You're welcome to start an Esperanto thread... I just doubt that you'll get any replies (at least not in the same language).
Can you believe I got up at 8am today, even though I didn't even have any lectures? I'm so proud of myself!
Furthermore, I have decided that personal statements suck. You write about how great you are, using ridiculously grandiose words, but without exagerating too much... *sigh* Oh well, I guess that's just how this society works nowadays.
