This last Saturday (3/11), the Chicago area saw beautiful temps and sun (60 degrees Fahrenheit). Took advantage of it and went to Gillson Park Beach in Wilmette, just 10 minutes' walk north of my door...took some pics...
On the way...local tourist attraction...beautiful building...
Families out for play...
The Lake Michigan shore awakening from its winter slumber...
Gillson Park's breakwater...
Yours truly and a few other folk hanging out on the breakwater (it was really windy!!)...
Two guys hanging out in a nook on the breakwater, playing some acoustic guitar...
Two kites taking advantage of the wind...
I took many more, but this should get all the Northern Hemisphere folks in a spring mood. :-D It certainly was a relaxing day...

Thanks a lot for sharing these wonderful springtime pictures! Here in Germany the sun is shining too, but it still feels like Winter! It's just too cold. I really can't remember a Winter as long as this one :?
Yeah, but next week I'll have some days off work and I really hope it'll feel more springlike here then too. 8)

You're welcome, Su and Michi! Had fun taking the pics...wish we still had the weather...still have the sun but have the same cold as you, Michi...possibly even colder.

Great pics Shannon~ just wish spring would come for real and stop teasing us!!!! We had lovely weather yesterday and today got dumped on with freezing rain and snow. Mother Nature certainly must be having some serious PMS :D
