    Char Bio Lythnia Roylin
    Name:: Lythnia Roylin
    Position:: Novice
    Age:: 16
    Sex:: Female
    Origin:: Arad Doman
    Height:: 5’ 3’’
    Hair:: Reddish-Brown
    Eyes:: green
    Skin:: coppery

    I am the first born child of a Domani blacksmith and his wife. My life was generally uneventful until my mother gave birth to her third child: a baby boy. That day, my life changed forever. when my mother called me to her bedside, I read the worry in her face.

    "Yes, mother; what is it?"
    "Nia, you are a good girl, a strong girl. You must raise your brothers well, and to be a comfort to your father."
    "Hush mother don't speak so - all will be well," I said. Her words and manner frightened me.
    "Nia, I haven't much time. Promise made you will always be your father's support and pride - you must try and fill my place, for his and your siblings’ stakes."
    Tears sprang to my eyes, but I held them back. I threw myself into her arms, and then embraced her fondly, stroking her hair back from her face.
    "I will fetch father at once if it is not too late."
    "Go; go with my love and blessing."

    I ran through the town streets to my father's smithy as fast as I could. When he folded his strong arms around me, the damn holding back my feelings broke loose and I told him everything. I never saw my father run faster than he did that day. Rushing into the bedroom and kneeling by my mother's deathbed, he gathered her in his arms. She looked at him with eyes full of love and pity; I will never forget that look.

    "Farewell my love - farewell."

    He kissed her passionately as if hoping to give her some of his strength, hoping to hold in her dying breath - but she was gone. I had never seen my father cry before, but at that moment he broke down and wept inconsolably. I lay my head on his chest and cried with him. We held onto each other so tightly, as if to keep from being swept away by our emotions. And so, at ten years old, I had a woman's work unceremoniously thrust on my shoulders.

    I threw myself into my duties, as much as I could, and I had my aunt to help me. She was the one that truly raised me as a Domani woman. After this, though, I grew much closer to my father. And despite the fact that I was a woman, I did love his work. I would often help him in the smithy when he stayed there late, and he taught me some of the more delicate aspects of his work, such as the making of fine blades and chains. I learned enough to make my own set of throwing knives, and he taught me to use them well.

    Then just a few months before I came to the tower, I was returning from my friend’s house late at night, when I realized someone was following me. I turned in time to see a man coming towards me from the shadows. It had been her birthday, so the more formal Domani dress I was wearing was too tight for me to conceal my knives in, and I had no cloak. Desperate for some form of self defense I did... something, and a ball of fire appeared from nowhere and struck him. He stood dumbstruck for a few moments, and then ran off, clutching his burning shoulder. Several days later, I became violently ill for no apparent reason, sweating and shivering alternately and in terrible pain. Then, I was suddenly well again, as if nothing had happened. Determined to find out what I had done, by one through many books at libraries and made many inquiries. At long last, I discovered that I had the ability to channel.
    When I told my father, he was torn between joy and sorrow, but he knew that I must go - channeling, unguided, could and would kill. So after a long, tearful goodbye to my aunt, father, and brothers, I set off for the tower at Manetheren and hopefully, someday, Aes Sedai-hood
