Hey, today, I have just learned that a Hungarian tv will show the Smoke Signals this weekend :) imagine that I almost screamed. That is fantastic!!! I was waiting for this :) ok, the bad thing in it that they will show it very late at night, after midnight, 2 AM, so it is so sad, but at least they show it at last!!! :)
And today, I have realised that I saw the film The Edge of America from Chris Eyre years ago in a Hungarian tv. :) I liked that film, I remembered that Wes Studi was in it, and of the story, but I did not know what was the title and the director, and today I recognised it :)
That was a good film, and as I read the Smoke Signals is a good one too.
Any of you saw it before? And if yes, how did you like that?

Smoke Signal is great! I hope you will get to see it in English !!! Do you have subtitles or dubbed versions on TV?
It´s full of that great typical Indian humor - I hope you´ll get it!

Edge of America premiered on Hungarian TV March 6th, 2006 ... are you sure you´ve seen it years ago?

They will show a dubbed version of Smoke Signals, so maybe the Indian humor will lost :(
But I hope not. Maybe they will get the dvd version once and we could buy it in out shops and see it in english.
But I am glad with the dubbed version too at least, because they show it, and it is a good step forward. And in this way more people will watch, okay not when they show it after midnight, but they got it and will show it again I hope.
Edge of America: I remember that I saw it in my old home in Budapest and I moved to the countryside two years ago, so... I do not know now...
my memory got confused, but you are right. But it was almost two years ago :) you know time flies... :)
I just remember for the bus with which the team was picked and that Wes Studi was in the film.

uhm - now this is strange, cause I have the info that it was in March 2006 ... oh well, this is almost 2 years ago ... it´s 2008 now

I saw Smoke Signals :) that is a great movie!!! :D
I was very funny, I loved that :D
They dubbed it, but I think they did not hurt the indian humor with it, I laughed so much :D
But a sad movie too, especially at the end, the Forgiving Our Fathers scene, monologue, that was very heart touching for me, because of some reasons.
They ate Fry bread, yeah? Because they just translated it, and it lost in translation, because we have no word for fry bread, as I know. Are there any german word for fry bread?
There was so many funny scenes and things in this film.
That song, John Wayne's teeth was very LOL :)
Anne, maybe you know who was that guy who reported about the weather, I think his name was Ben in the film, or something like that, but I did not found him on the cast list. But that man was so familiar to me. He was the same as who reported about the traffic?

The "main" radio host was played by the amazing John Trudell, he was also in Thunderheart - his IMDB page. I believe that it is John's character (Randy Peone) who does the weather.
The guy (Lester Fallsapart) doing the traffic reports was portrayed by Chief Leonard George.
