    Favorite Poe adaptations?
I was just wondering, since nobody's made a topic on this, what everybody's favorite adaptations based on any of Poe's work are.

Mine is this really neat 1953 cartoon based on The Tell-Tale Heart:

It captures the mood from the original story perfectly, plus the narration is excellent, but I was rather disappointed to see the part where the main character chops up the old man's corpse omitted due to whatever the television standards and regulations may say about that kind of stuff back then....heh, it's either that I think that part is essential in adding to the story's atmosphere, or maybe I really am a sick, perverted, little snot...

I have seen Vincent Price on " An Evening of Edgar Allan Poe" and I can say that really pulled it off... jaw-dropping that was, I tell you

    HIS STORIES
The best and most scary adaptation of a Poe story to me is "La Chûte de la maison Usher", a French silent movie by Jean Epstein. In this movie there are two stories of Poe beautifully blended: "The Fall of the House of Usher" and "The Oval Portrait". It is a gem of expressionistic filming. The atmosphere, the startling mimic work of the actors, and the sometimes medieval, sometimes disturbing music, are truly unforgettable.
