No, to be serious, I was quiet nervous, but not because of the fact that I was going to talk to him directly, but because I was hoping to understand everything. Iīm always nervous when I make phonecalls to the States or to Canada. Writing is sometimes more easy than speaking ... but it went well.

You are allowed to dream - I have to be realistic for business reasons - lol! Of course, I wish they would stop by, but at the same time I donīt think that they ever will. Men are not that nosy and maybe they do think that message boards are a bit childish ... they donīt like woman giggle that much (men in general) and thatīs what boards do mean to them (just my idea of it) ... they might think "oh, leave these woman alone ... I donīt want to know what they think about my backside or how sexy I looked in "Black Cloud". I donīt want to read about their dreams of me and stuff ..." lol It happens to them so many times and they may be so tired of it - donīt you think so?

No, they are not tired of the fans ... itīs just that I can imagine that if you get asked to stop by at fan boards and fan sites, after some time itīs just getting too much!!! Iīm sure Iīm not the only one and so I just donīt expect them to stop by. If they do so - hey, thatīs great - I just stay realistic and understand, if they donīt have the time to do so. Just imagine whatīs going on in their lives? They also do have to work to have a sure income and there income isnīt even for sure, cause they never know when the next job will be ... Michael isnīt doing as much movies as Eddie is doing, but he is busy travelling doing all his speaking engagements and working for his father - so there is only little time left to be on the internet and then they still do have a private life and want to meet up with friends - so if you would be in their shoes and would have to decide between spending time with friends you havenīt seen for a long time or stopping by at a board on the internet which will most likely be the same like the once youīve already seen, what would you decide to do? I know that I would like to spend time with friends after weeks of working hard ... Iīm sure they do care about their fans, but give them a break! Itīs hard enough to be in the spotlight all the time ... so if they are at home and have the chance to escape all that I really donīt expect them to think of me and my board - lol. I know how Nathaniel felt when weīve been at a PowWow and ALL THE GIRLS wanted a picture together with him and an autograph - heīs had not a single moment to take a deep breath !!! It was scary !!! Now, I hope you understand what I was trying to say in my earlier post ...

yeah, it was a kinda strange dream. I was working in some kind of building and in my dream I knew it was a hospital allthough it never looked like one. Eddie was working there and some other people. I had a job there, too, but I can't tell you what kind of job. Suddenly there came a group of killer whose job was it to kill everyone working in that hospital. Eddie was killed (I wont tell how, just that it was very bloody) and a lot of other people were killed, too. Somehow I knew that those killers were actually hunting me and that they came for me and I could escape through a window together with that one white guy from CSI, don't know if you know him. I can show you a picture. Together we jumped into a car and looked for a friend (the black guy from CSI) to run away together with him, but he didn't show up. So we drove away and saw him later in another car. And we met a few girls that were working together with us in that hospital and told them what happened. And then I woke up.

Yes, thatīs true. But they do get a bigger lobby now and thatīs the good thing about it.
And this Award event didnīt take place for the first time (First Americans in Arts was founded in 1991). Zahn already got a First American in Arts Award and Nathaniel already did attend the event a few years ago. Nakotah was performing the Hoop Dance once (I guess, that was last year). So we can be looking forward to next year.

I know it's just the movies but still it was hard to watch - too all of the "shootings" were extremely painful - Standing Rock, Waschata, Wounded Knee. It was like I could feel each bullit myself - if that makes sense.
Eddie only died once in Into the West - that I know of.

Yea, i think he buffed up to look older for that episode. Yes it is hard to watch eddie's character die. I'm nervous about the crying scenes he has in bury my heart at wounded knee, it's all too real. I could see from the preview of the movie, he does a very good job of acting.

I agree with you, Idril. It broke my heart when Boromir and Gandalf died in LOTR, and that wasn't based on real events. It all has to do with the raw emotion of the scene and the way the actors portray them.

I cry at Hallmark commercials- so you all could just guess how emotional I get when people (that I like) die in movies. I cried when Lassie "drowned" in the movie- and then again five minutes later when she showed up again. Guess for me, it depends on the time of the month ( :wink: ) that I watch the movie. But BMHAWK was some of Eddie's finest work to date- I can really see his art improving.

Let's just say I cried during Bury My Heart. It was an awsome movie and Sean, Tokala and Eddie never looked better. Course this is the first time I've seen Sean in a "bad character" role. Wish Tokala had a larger part but he didn't. Adam was great as well.

because there are some special occasions on school and I wasn't willing to go. (It's a tradition that the people who just graduated disturb the lessons and party through the school). And because you can't learn then at all me and some others decided to stay at home. Some teachers gave us things to do at home, but it wasn't that much. So I had a very chilling day :wink: :D

Well, not to give too much away, but that part of his character isn't really expanded on at all. While there are some faults with the film, imho Eddie does an outstanding job.
An interview with him regarding his character on BMHAWK would be quite interesting, as Adam mentioned it was Eddie's reactions that helped him. I'd love to get his side of his story.
I'm patiently waiting for Commache Moon to be aired - hoping there are some interviews and such at that time - but that isn't until November.

On Eddie's & Michael's IMDB pages there is a listing that you can only read if you have a pro account - as I do - I thought I'd share the news.
At this time the movie is in early development (script) and Eddie & Michael are just rumoured to be cast. Joanne Shenandoah is also rumoured as actress. The film's name is Maid of the Mist - anyone who lives near Niagara Falls knows there are two boats called Maid of the Mist, so for me reading that I instantly thought "it's gotta be about Niagara Falls" - sure enough it is.
The premise of the film is: In 1670 the chief's beautiful daughter, Lelawala, becomes the last virgin to be sacrificed over the Niagara Falls.
The locations mentioned at this time are:
Buffalo, New York, USA
Niagara Falls, New York, USA
North Tonawanda, New York, USA
All about an hours drive from Toronto. Mmmm....road trip?
The production company behind this film is Captures Entertainment and they are located in North Tonawanda (which is near Buffalo). Nothing has be mentioned on their website just yet. They also do distribution, world wide so that could be a good thing.
The project was optioned in April 2007 and, I'm guessing, the script is in works as of July 11 2007 (or is complete as of July - not really sure what it means). So it doesn't say when shooting will begin but I'm thinking not until next summer - winters here can be brutal. I guess it depends on the time of season of the story.
Here's what they have listed as crew (so far):
Directed by - Bill Cowell (owner of Captures Entertainment)
Writers - Gerald Schoenewolf
Producers - Bill Cowell ... producer
Cast:
Michael Spears ... (rumored)
Eddie Spears ... (rumored)

Gotta say the more I read about it, I'm thinking small budget, indie film, may end up on TV (I know the Buffalo stations would air it) or (as it seems from reading Captures website) direct to DVD (oh the horror).
As this is just in development, anything can change, nothing is written in stone.
Did some surfing and came across a folk story about the Maid of the Mist - it's a lovely story but doesn't quite match the "sacrifice" story that this movie is supposedly about. IMHO I think the folklore story is much better:

I have photos of Maid of the Mist. Our youth went up there last year and my daughter went too. She said it's beautiful but didn't say anything about any stories.'

Well it looks like I'm going to have to replace my Into the West for the 2nd time. Seems like one of the disk will not play anymore on my DVD player I'm going to put it in the big one and see if it will play but it looks like it's going to have to be replaced. :cry:

yes I cleaned it. :cry: I'm really not looking forward to replacing the whole thing for 1 DVD. The first time I had to replace it was because Cheddar got ahold of one of them - I guess he thought it was a chew toy.

Last I heard it was going to on TV here in November during the "sweeps" weeks (when tv companies put on their best shows to get the best ratings). Can't happen soon enough if you ask me!
