I know I will love Canary Islands. I have been there once before.
In Dec.2004. I remember that we rented a car and we drove up to the mountains. The roads up there where so small.so we could not met another var. i was a bit scared!! :oops: :oops:

btw with the scanner ,in your pc should be a program from your scanner ,A menu ,which says: Email, Store ,Viewer ,Help and another thing
wle you need to click on Viewer ,than on scan and it will scan the pic in your pc ,when you store the pic plz notice where you put it cause some scanners have their own map where they put it ,it's best to putt it in a map of your own ,so you can always get it

Regarding loosing weight, I failed !!! LOL But I know why - too much of everything I shouldnīt be eating ... now only sports can help - I will go to the gym more often, besides the time I already have to spend there because of my classes ... thatīs all I can do, because I tried to do a bit more at home and I was just too lazy or I did something else, but sports ... so I will have to force myself !!! I have to make it till the festival !!!!

I had problems with MySpace yesterday - and have them today. Login impossible !!! Thatīs why I couldnīt get reminded of your b-day on MySpace!
I had the same problem. Everytime I tried to sign it in said that login was disabled while they did some maintenance. Then when I finally got online my internet server went down!

My trip was very good. I am soo in love.. :oops:
I was on Canary Islands for 1week. That was to little.
I spended most of the time at the pool. But one day we went on a jeep and camel safari. That was really fun!! I ride on a camel. :)
The roads that the jeeps went on was not good. Only sand and stones. :(
So I was a bit dirty when I get back to the hotel.
I am thinking about going back later this year.

Yes, I was wondering, too. ok - I havenīt been here either, but whenever I had time to check on the board, I missed Mela.
Now itīs my turn to become sick! I already didnīt feel good yesterday and this morning I was only able to whisper - no voice! Then, after I dropped off Emma at kindergarden, I went back to sleep for a couple of hours before I had to go to work and I felt much better afterwards. I was even able to speak - lol. I just got off work and feel bad again ... I donīt feel sick yet, but I feel like getting sick. My nose is running and I am cold and hot at the same time ... thatīs a bad sign. I guess best thing to do, is to go and see my doctor before I have to leave for work tomorrow. We already to stay home last week-end, cause there was not enough work for all of us and so the money is missing at the end of the month. Thatīs why I will have to work this week-end !!! Sick or not !!! Iīll make it somehow - if itīs getting really bad, theyīll send me home anyway. It also depends on the medication Iīll get ... lol ... if Iīll get some pills which will make me really "happy" (lol), itīs better to stay away from the machines !!! LOL
So, Mela, I hope you are doing fine again and there is no reason we should be worrying about you.

Hopefully not !!!! Strange thing about it is, that I do feel much better again this morning. I was able to sleep in and just got up to get ready to go to work. I feel ok. My mom told me that sheīs feeling the same way. It may be the crazy weather. We had already wonderful "summer days" and now itīs cold and rainy again - in fact really stormy !!! Iīll see how I feel tonight. Maybe Iīll go and get a check up next week.

Iam ok. It has just been so much the last year.It is a year now since my loved mother passed away. :(
In the middle of april 2007 my uncles girlfriend was found dead in her bed.
A quite close relative has got breast cancer. :(

Sounds like things like that do happen all over the world. One of a friendīs co-workers died totally unexpected last week-end. Iīll see her in a few minutes ... why am I worried about me being sick? Iīll be fine again in a few days, but things like that are the things which are really bad.

I understand how you feel too. I've buried 2 relatives within the last 4 weeks and today we learned that one of our students wifes died Friday. She had throat cancer and was given 6 months with chemo but the chemo didn't help so it took her in less than 3. She was 37 and left 3 little ones.

i think the hardest part is that it happends unexpected
even if you are sick ,like have cancer ,you don't know how long you will live ,and it even hits harder when they say ,ooh you have 6 months ,or a year ,and your death in 2 or 3 months ,than the family expected it to be longer ,but still have to lose their loved one to soon :cry: :cry:

Yep, my cousin who died - he'd been diagnosed 4 years ago and had been in remission, however when it returned it hit is liver and we knew he only had a short time left. But my aunt. She was mending fences one day and the next in the hospital because of a stroke. If someone has been sick for a long time you don't want them to suffer and it's a blessing when they do finally make the journey home because they are out of pain...I think those types of deaths are easier to deal with than the ones that are "sudden" - because you have time to prepare that they will not be with you much longer....I sure hope I'm making sinse here.

Wow, this is all so depressing.
My uncle in England was sick for quite a while last year, but didn't want to go to the doctor. When my aunt finally got him there he was told that he had cancer and there was nothing they could do for him. He died the next day!

that happened to an uncle of mine only it was pneumonia. He refused to go to the dr.
My doctor sent out some antibotics however he said if I'm no better after taking them I have to come in.

exactly. It's a nice warm sunny day here again but they are calling for some more t-storms tonight. As long as they hold off till after Keri's spring concert.
I'm going to try and get her Alice in Wonderland DVD and post some photos of her on here. She was the mock turtle.
This morning was a wild one - had to take Snoopy to the vet. Seems he's gotten into something and last night he scratched his belly so much he got it to bleeding in some areas. He got an allergy shot and some antibotics. My doctor sent out some antibotics for me yesterday. My neighbor and I chipped some wood last night and when he and Cheddar were outside they had to roll in it. Snoopy has allergies but he's never cause himself injury.

I don't think I would every go to another country with my daughter. At the age now- or even when she is older. There are too many stories about kids and teens being abducted or worse. I just couldn't bear it if I ever lost her- they might as well take me too!

I wouldnīt take my kids with me to the States either ... yet they donīt know the language and would get bored - and of course, itīs more a "work-trip" than itīs a vacation and I wouldnīt be free to do what I need to do with the kids around. For me it will be hard when the kids will be on a vacation with their dad in August. They will be going to the North Sea coast to visit a friend of my ex and they will be gone for two weeks. Of course he will be taking care of the kids, but heīs not watching them that careful like I would do it and heīs always laughing at me when I ask him to watch the kids VERY careful. My little one dares to do too many things - she doesnīt know about risks in life and just goes for things. "Iīm already a big girl - I can do it" thatīs what I hear too many times and even if I tell her to stay with me, she is just running away. Thatīs what Iīm afraid of - itīs only a second you donīt watch her and she can be gone ... my ex doesnīt take me serious with that and so I hope that I wonīt get a phone call him telling me that he lost our daughter. Maybe I shall learn to trust him, but it isnīt easy to do.

I'm back from Berlin since last night and still very tired. We had the dirtiest room you can imagine. I had a few good moments, but I missed my home, my family and you guys a lot. All in all the trip was ok. I survived it but I wouldn't do it again.

Don't feel bad, Anne, my mother couldn't even sleep until my siblings and I were all home safely at night, and this was AFTER we were already grown up! It's natural for mothers to worry.

Motherhood is something we (as moms) carry the rest of our lives...my mom told me - no matter how old I get she'll always worry. As they get older and married themselves I don't think you worry as much but it comes with being a mom.

lmao well, the hotel was not good. It was disgusting. The rooms were dirty and there were hair on the breakfast cheese. The rolls tasted like toilet paper. I would never stay a night in this hotel again! The shower was ok for two days, but on the third day it started to smell :? And the last time I went to bed there I saw an allergis reaction on my lower leg. It was red, but not swollen. It didn't hurt, but it didn't feel ok either. The allergis reaction was gone after I took a bath here at home.
Berlin itself was ok. It's a very big city and I recognised (again) that I couldn't live in such a city. So little trees and green places. :( So much stress and hectic. If I had do live in such a big city I would suffer like a flower without water. :?
I visited the botanic garden and the big forest Grunewald and those were the happy moments during my ime in Berlin. So many beautiful trees!
I also visited the moviestudios Babelsberg, with was not good at all. It was like a playground for children. There were one or two cinemas, but the rest..... :x The theatre I visited was just the same. -.-
Well, that's all from Berlin. I'm so glad to be back :D

Hey evenstar, one of my sonīs friends is leaving for Australia today. My son is giving her a ride to the airport. Sheīll stay there for a few month. Iīll try to find out, where she will be. Yes, find out where she is going if you can! I doubt it is near me though, as I am not near the major cities on the east coast. I am actually from the most isolated city in the world!!

I asked my son and he said that there is another friend going with his friend - so two girls are on their way to Australia. When I got him right, the girls are going there without really having a plan what will happen. They have like 300 Euro each and want to find themselves a job to make more travelling-money ... they want to let things happen. Where exactly do you live? My son can send them an email. Maybe the girls are happy to know that there would be kind of "contact-person" if needed.

I live in Perth, which is on the south-west coast of Australia. Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane are on the east coast, and that is most likely where they are headed. Sure they are welcome to stop by here, but it is very far away! Most people don't realise how big Australia is. It's similar to the United States in size. It can take up to a week to drive from one side of the country to the other (ie. Perth to Sydney), if you take lots of breaks!
They are also free to contact me if they have any logistical problems, or just need to know where to go or what to do in certain situations.

I have no plans to travel anywhere this summer - I will be off from the 16th thill the 25th of June. I just need to take some time off and rest. Keri will be leaving on the 15th for Hawaii with her dad and step mom, I'm trying to get my mom to go to the country that week so I'll have the place to myself.
We also had a guy transfer from the JCP out in Salt Lake and he was married to a lady who was 1/2native and 1/2 white. He said one day they were driving up through Rosebud and he wanted to stop for some drinks - she said she could not go in the store because her tribe was still at war with the store owners. He said they are friendly people but leary because of all they've gone through and also if you do respect their privacy things should be ok. He also said that some are leary of going on the reservations because once on the res you are under their tribal law and you have to be careful not to break one of those.
I'll work with him tomorrow night and get to talk to him about it some more.

Awwwww - then you are pretty "close" to where I live !!! Maybe you should tell your mom, that Trier is Germanyīs OLDEST city!!! And we have some wonderful exhibitions this year in summer regarding the old Roman culture

We were originally wanting to see Canada and Alaska, but now she wants to postpone that until her 60th (in two years time), and see Greece, etc instead. well money being tight I took off a week just to spend it at home course got a lot of work done there. Keri has informed me that they've made their reservations for Hawaii next June but are only going to stay a week on Maui. She's ok with Honolulu but not really fond of the island. I think because it's so built up....she called a short while ago and said they were going to Pearl Harbour today...so I'm hoping for more photos.

Her room just got painted. Maybe we will paint a few small decorations on her walls and because her walls are withe I thought about a very light blue or green. Something you don't get sick of so fast and I thought of only a very few decorations, too. Well, it depends on what she wants to do with her room :wink:

it's interesting. She and Jessie painted it a couple of months ago but only put on one coat and it had some runs in places - so last week I decided to finish it up and make it look better. My neighbour helped me - we sanded the runs out and got it repainted and new fixtures - the base is orange so it's not too bad. I'll take a photo of it with my cell phone tonight.

she is wanting to paint her bedroom pink but I think I will make sure I'm there to help her. She and Jessie were in a big hurry. She had her initials in orange on the wall but we sanded it and painted over it - you can just barely tell they were there. I'll get a photo and post it tomorrow. Be glad to get home tonight.

When I was younger I wanted to have my room painted pink so bad. I knew someone who had a room in a light pink and wanted that, too. A pink bed, pink walls, pink clothes.... :lol: :lol: Not to forget about the little horses that should be everywhere. Pictures of horses on my walls and on my bed, barbiehorses.... :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:

I like calm colors. Dark colors and light colors like a dark orange, violet, blue, BLACK ( :wink: ), green, silver, light blue, yellow and green, but no colors like pink and orange.. Maybe because I just had too much of those when I was younger.

I noticed that neither of you were posting much but I understand.....
I'm surprised I didn't get blown over your way Idril as we had some major major storms late yesterday and last night. Winds got up over 70 mph, our electric went out for about 2 hours, the roof in the upstairs bathroom developed a small drip :shock: had to go out and pull limbs off the cars and out of the drive just to get out. Will spend tomorrow cleaning up the after affects - but I didn't loose any trees - just some "big branches" some lost roofs. There were still about 10,000 without power this morning.

During my camping trip we saw another camping from our car.
This camping was located just a few miles from my town. The where inspired by NA people. They had NA tents that you could rent. I write tents beacuse I do not know the right word.Just a few streets away there was a food store called Indian...
We had to leave Norway 2 days earlier beacuse of bad weather. :( :(

I probably could have stood outside and not needed one :lol: Some areas got hit harder than mine did (my neighborhood took the blunt last year). Now I just need to work in my beds in the front of the house and I'll be done.

Ummm.... nope!! Those of us who speak English as a native tounge still write things wrong. Most of it is due to our dialects- how we speak in different regions of the States. If we ever have any issues, I'm sure we would just ask you to explain yourself another way. But for the most part- I think I can speak for all of us by saying we understand enough of what each other says that there is no reason to get all technical.
PS- I haven't been online much lately either, so I'm trying to get caught up on everyone's posts. Gesh- you ladies have been busy!!

When I lived close enough to work to ride my bike - I brought it in and several of those who ride their bikes in now - bring them in and sit them in their offices.

I will be at my grandma's from comming sunday to next sunday. I fear we can't meet this time, Anne. I'm still pretty sick (temperautre going up and down between 36 and 37° C, can't walk straight, coughing, nose running etc.) and I don't want to infect you or your kids. I got medicine from the doctor and it's getting better slowly, but I feel weak as a baby. I can send you a message when I feel better (if you want to meet).
Well, I wont be online for the next week. But I can't wait to be back.

No vacation. One brake of our car broke and we had o be brought home by a car service. Car plus caravan plus four people plus dog and package. I hope I wont have to do this again. Never!
Noone got hurt, we're all allright (more or less), just pretty pissed. We have to wait until our car is fixed, before we can go on vacation again. I'll keep you updated.

Well, we had rain in the morning when my sister and I went to look after the horses and sunshine when we "tried" to visit my grandma. I'm just glad my das has an ADAC insurance. If I imagine, we had to pay the car service.... :shock:

He was my 2nd favorite character in The Ice Age...the first one was the little critter with the acorn.
Must say we've had over 3 inches of rain since yesterday at noon and it's still coming down - course some of the heavy stuff has moved to the north of us but it's been a steady rain - slowing down to a drizzle then starting back up again. Some roads are flooded or standing water....thought I was going to have to get the oars out this am to come to work.

It is and you'll love it Anne. Next week will start the kick-off of Christmas at JCP and I was told tonight to expect to work 4/nights/days a week until the 1st of January. Had to work there tonight.
I'm still recovering and they teased me at work saying I brought the rain from Frisco with me.
When I came in around midnight Sunday night - I just dropped everything and went to bed. Had to plug up my laptop for a few hours before it would let me do anything. I'll get over this jet-lag eventually.
Going to go check out some stuff on here before turning in.

Anne- I didn't know you were stopping at Cherokee? Hopefully you have a guide. But just in case you get lost- Nancy is to the north, and I'm a bit farther north than her. So, at least here on the east coast you have two people to contact if you need directions. :lol: I'm assuming you'll go back out of Atlanta- enjoy your trip through the hills and take in all the beautiful changing fall colors. Can't wait to see the pics from the show in San Fran- and if you get to post the ones from Cherokee that would be awesome too!!

You mean "It can't rain all the time"? Yep, in the the Crow soundtrack by Jane Siberry. I love this song - it's making me sad but I love it. It is one of my favourite songs - why didn't I put this on the CD for Michael and Eddie?! *lol* ok, now it's too late. maybe next time.
@ Anne: did you see the "Indian Summer" I love the colors of the leaves in autumn - please take a lot of photos of it.^^

The trip was great. I can't wait to go to Londong again! It's soooo cool there! Usually I hate big cities and places with man people, but I love London. It's so different. If you just follow those little rules everyone is sooo polite and friendly.
The day we arrived we had to go to our hotel by bus (on the railroad and accident heppend right next to our bus, I don't know if the driver got hurt, because our driver didn't stop to look). The hotelrooms were very small and there wer only sex-bed-rooms for us (the only bad thing about the trip), but the were clean. The shower in our room didn't work but we just used another one :wink: We went to KFC in the evening where we ordered a big "feast menu" for three people. It was so much we hardly ate half of it.
We got up very early on saturday to make a sightseeing tour through London with our teacher (some of us went into Londong Eye but I didn't. Too expensive.) and in the eveing we originally wanted to go to the theatre, but there were no cards for us so we ent into the cinema, where we could choose which film we wanted to watch (me and three friends watched Stardust! The film was sooo funny!). Bevore that we had dinner at McDonald's (9 cheeseburger for three people :roll: ).
On sunday we got up early again and went to Oxford Street, but all the shops were still closing. Most of the open at 11 a.m., we got there at 9:30 a.m. So we went to Starbucks and drank coffe, but the shops still weren't open, so we went to Pizzahut. After that the shops finally were open, but somehow they didn't have any clothes we liked. Afterwards we went to Chinatown (it smelled so good there but we had just ated pizza one and half hour before) and then we got lost and it started to rain. Finally we found a subway station and went back to hour hotel, where we met another friend, with whom we went to an Indian restaurant. I can't desribe you if I liked the food or not, because it's so different from what I'm used to.
On monday we made another sightseeing tour to the towerbridge and visited the Globe Theatre (the guide in the Theatre was funny, but that kind of person I couldn't deal with for a longer time so I was happy to leave the theatre again). Then we went back to hour hotel, got our package and went to the airport by bus (this time without any accidents, but with a lot of rain).
All in all the trip was just great. I had a lot of fun (sadly my camera didn't work the way I wanted it so I don't have much pics of London, but I will post some later)! :D

yes, there is still some of it left ... climate change makes it happen!
I don't think that the pictures will come out the way it was in reality! The mountains in Cherokee were awesome !!!!!!!!! I took lots of pics, but doubt they will show it all - at least you'll get an idea of what it was like

Anne - great photo - our leaves up here are still falling, some trees are still in their fall colours...but snow is supposed to be on it's way later this week (most likely it will be the kind of snow that melts quickly - it's too early for "real" snow). Can't wait to see more photos.

My mom already told me that it's cold in Germany and that they already had snow!
I was enjoying the sun every morning !!! It was nice and warm in Georgia during the day and cold at night. People are even walking around in Tee's and shorts !!!!!!! LOL But today it looks like rain - was hoping to be able to work on my vacation tan - lol

those are wonderful photos of the snow. we've just had rain. I must say I've been remiss at getting on line. Had to get up at 1 on Friday to be at work by 3:30 - got off at 2:30 came home and wham right to sleep I went. I am feeling better my ears have finally cleared up even though I'm still on antibotics. Had to work Sat and today - the sales were not as good as last year and this weekend was a drag so to speak.
Glad you made it home Anne and I know you are tired. Glad you don't have to work tomorrow.
My computer tonight had to be restarted 3 times - kept freezing on me and it's a fairly new laptop so i'm going to call the store tomorrow and ask them if I need to have it checked out. It probably is not use to sitting untouched for a few days lol.

A lot of folks were thinking about me with Black Friday. It was hard to believe I was the highest seller for that day course I stayed in watches and gold mainly. Since Friday we've had like several thousands in diamonds - none of mine came back - at least not yet, but then I only sold a few - but I made a killing gold and watches.
It's a drab day and has been wet and raining....I could have stayed in bed.
Staples wants me to run my computer in tonight and let them do a diagnostic on it - wonderful - it's not even 8 months old.
I've been working on finals all am - the semester ends on the 3rd (just a little over a week away) will be glad when it does.

they are calling for a wintery mix next Monday here. Right now the sun is out and it's very cold outside.
I figured out my time and it looks like from the 18th of Nov to the 8th of Dec I will habe put in 49.5 + hours at my part-time job and that will only increase. I work tonight, tomorrow night and Sat am then Sun, Wed, Thursday and Sat next week. :roll:

well that's what I do when I get home is sleep. My full time job is winding down but my part-time is picking up. I got home about 10:15 last night and went to bed. I work tonight then am off still Saturday and I have to be there at 6 am :shock: I have a bunch of early am's on saturdays but that's ok because that means I've the rest of the afternoon - but I'd be ok if I didn't come home and go to sleep. But that's only till Christmas and the day after - then it's back to the norm till Valentines day.

yes extra money is always nice...but we've been getting so many returns. So far only 1 diamond has been returned on me (around 455.00US) worth but the others had "big returns" like $1,000 or higher. My return came back last night - she said her husband would most likely be in to buy something else for her from me because they hated I had to loose a sale but something came up (money wise) at least that is what she told me, and they had to return it. I would love to work somewhere where there was no commission involved because even though the commission from that 455 sale was on this weeks paycheck - that commission will be taken off my next paycheck. That's why I stay out of diamonds around the holidays - I'll only go over there if someone comes up and says they want to see one. Gold, if it comes back normally gets replaced with something else - diamonds just plain come back.

That sounds very odd. it seems to me that business is very tough :shock:
