Hallo zusammen,
hier habe ich mal einen kleine Teil aus dem Buch abgeschrieben. Da erzählt David was er so alles kann. Bemerkenswert.

… The idea is not to become an encyclopedia. Too much jumping around can be counter-productive. Jack of all styles, master of none.
I have done quite a bit of experimenting in judo, karate and in various related and unrelated arts and siences. Fast draw, fencing, gymnastics, trampoline, tap dance, ballet, equitation, race and stunt driving, bicycle, basketball, track and field, mountain climbing, swimming, diving, aerobatic flying. Guitar, piano, sitar, dilruba, harmonica, flute, saxophone, drums, conga, sculpture, painting, calligraphy, folk medicine, animal husbandry, reading, writing, woodworking and mechanics.
I have practiced a certain amount of pure street fighting out of necessity, some of which became fairly serious. While in the army, I was exposed to other forms of combat. All of this has stood me in good stead.
As has always been the case with me in all endeavors, I took what I wanted. I did not precisely learn the Tiger Crane, or a judo form; but I know them, in the sense that I have assimilated them and they are now part of my spacious, ever expanding candy store of useful flavors.
Still, I have always some back to the Northern Shaolin and the teachings of Sifu Kam Yuen. …

Wow, das mach Lust auf mehr. Hoffentlich komme ich irgendwann dazu dieses Buch zu lesen. Danke für die Abschrift, Dagibu. :blackwhite:

das Buch taucht immer wieder bei ebay.com auf und es ist auch nicht allzuteuer. Es ist nicht einfach zu lesen, höchstens Du bist in English Spitzeklasse, was ich von mir nicht behaupten möchte. Aber Du schaffst es.
Am Anfang erzählt David noch einiges zum Kung Fu Dreh. Aber dann fängt er an über die Philosophie von Kung Fu zu sprechen, dann wird es schwierig. Aber interessant ist es allemal vor allem wenn man sich dafür interessiert.
Also besorge es Dir, Du wirst Deine Freude haben.
you can find the book by ebay.com and it is not to expensive. It is not easy to read, or you are a expert in English language, I´m not. But you can do it.
At the begin David tells from the Kung Fu shooting. Than he start to speak about the the philosophy behind Kung fu, this is difficult to understand. But it is interesting too.
Buy it and you will like it.

Ich hab das Buch vor einiger Zeit gelesen und war und bin beeindruckt davon. Eben WEIL David kein absoluter Mega-Profi auf dem Gebiet ist kann er den Stoff verständlicher rüberbringen. OK, bedingt durch die Sprachbarriere mit Englisch ist das dann immer noch heftig genug - aber es ist machbar.
I have read the book a while ago and was and am impressed. Just BECAUSE David is not that absolut mega professional in that area he can tell the subjects in a way that its better to understand. OK, because of the language barrier with english that is still enough - but one can do it.
