Actually it will be their 8th appearance on kouhaku since 1997. ^^ Here are the songs they've performed each year,
1997 - Shapes Of Love
1998 - Time goes by
1999 - Over and Over
2000 - ai no KAKERA
2001 - fragile
2002 - UNSPEAKABLE
2003 - mata ashita

That must have been great performances . And this year 'Koibumi' , fine~! :)
But 'shapes of love' is also one of my favourites .

It's a major end-of-the-year singing contest held in the NHK hall every new year's eve. The singers are divided into two groups: red as for the women and white for the men. After all performances are over, the audience and judges vote to decide whether the red or white group is the winner. ^^

ok kool thanks for the info :D but hey, elt would be in the female section wouldnt it, coz mocchi's the lead singer? wot about groups of mixed gender?

I'm guessing that depends on whether the lead vocalist(s) of the group/band is/are female or male, so yeah ELT is always in the red team although ikkun could possibly have some complaints. XD
