    hi!

    the map is nice, i like the heros, but i asked after the 10-11. game: is that all? Heros can be boring after some playing, ye there are combos, creative using of skills, but that is not enough. Soon the new heros can help this problem, but after u played these, u get the same effect like before.

    i have an idea to solve this "problem":

    - before the game the team can vote for a "affection bonus" for the whole team, so all hero can get a special advantage from each thing.
    im not so good in japanise culture, but there are animals, elements what are important in they religion, like dragons, snakes, birds, etc.
    So the team may choose from one of thsese things' affection, like if they choose the mighty, ruler-type dragon they get some aura bonuses...
    just think about it....

    - after the game there are some buildings what can be builded up with peasants, one generates money, one trains new units. There may be one what gives the hero a special ability. each hero may build 3 different one. like the archer samurai (sry forgot her name :P ) may build: "The eagles way" " The dragons way" and " The way of the wind". The eagle is proud and fast it may give more attack speed; the dragon is strong and wise, it may give extra hp/mana regen; the wind is chaotic and swift, it can give movespeed and windwak ability.... etc etc

    sry if coz my knowledge in english language and japanese culture is limited, i hope all of u understood what i wanted to post here, and everyone can give his knowledges and ideas to this so this can be a much better thing

    humm... i think the game could have a -FORFUN mode, with some non themed heroes like the pandaren, giving the game some funny heroes, just to not make the game boring after time ^^

    Hiya, my name is Mac, im Co-Chieftan of the USEast Samurai Legends Clan "Keepers of nooK's Legacy"

    And we have been playing the map since 0.7's release and we play almost every second day 1-3 games. So we have played alot.

    And we have not become bored at all, we're always trying to find brand new strategies and ways to make the game interesting and have yet run out of fun.

    Perhaps try the "Ninja Gank" or team up with a friend and make combos, if anyone has taken on Lyncor and myself they will be familiar with some of our custom combo moves that absolutely decimate, bwaha.

    Just use your imagination, and heres to Samurai Legends! *Raises glass*

    i just wanted to post an idea what can make the map more inrteresting

    if ur team want decide what type of affection will choose - what startegy will u make - or if ur hero chooses one building to build to improve himself so the other team with that hero cant go for this type of building

    theres alot of new strategys if this idea will become truth, and think about it i never saw any AOS map with this thing

    i have further ideas about this thing, and i wait for ppl who got what i think, so i can post them

    im not bored, i just have an idea, if ppl allows it, it can make the game much more exciting, it can give more and more startegys for all the team or for one or two heros just

    btw i cant be bored coz europe clan is nearly dead atm, noone is online or only 2-3 ppl and maybe (!) one of them can host

    Hi mac im vladh o.O nice to see a clan player... i must say i only play lan becouse i work on one "lan house", so there's no way i could meet you guys, since I dont have the game, my boss have it. :lol:

    humm, lol, nah, i already did every tactic you mentioned, im just becoming tired of war3 and thus SL, since "one" of my functions here is to teach people how to play (not only wc3), and show them new ways to do so (keep the client happy and make he come back! my boss aways says that :lol: )
    and its that, this idea was the worse i ever had, i wrote it after a unending match XD

    The game's simplicity allows for a variety of techniques and just plan off the wall strategies to be used. The problem with making your idea into the game is it would make things much more complex... which believe it or not, would actually make possible strategies go down.

    The affection bonus is something that would do little more then add in a skill that may or may not be useful. In all honesty, I'm against this one just because if you let them choose what bonus they get, you could get combinations that are more powerful then the others when mixed with a certain hero. For instance, if they choose Dragon, and they get an aura that increases damage ... Ronin/Ninja will instantly choose that one, because they can stun and rip people to pieces.

    Instead of creating a balanced playing field for all the heroes, you'd have each one specialized, forcing a task. If you give them special buildings, you come to the problem of balancing out 18 new buildings, which would never be truly balanced. What would likely happen is though there is more choices, people would probably choose the exact same thing and it'd work better then experimenting (I call it the EotA syndrome.)

    i overthought my idea so i can say the new buildings for improvements on
    heros, i give it a miss, and i explain the affliction bonus.

    1: your team can decide they choose a governor or dont
    - if dont, game is going on the same way then anytime
    - if they choose they must spend gold for it so they can decide who
    starts with more or less gold, but they cost of this "governor" cant
    be more then 400-500 gold

    2: enemy team can choose same governor, actually i dont know reason
    for the opposite thing

    3: well u gathered the gold so want choose one of the governors, there
    are some for example:
    -The Moon: every hero will gain the ability of shadowmeld
    strategy: u dont have it at daylight, and u can gain invisibility only
    while standing still, useful in some situation
    -The Sun: every hero have slightly extra regeneration in daylight
    (mana and/or hp) useless in darkness, so u have better chances to
    push in daytime
    -The Merchant: shops have less prices, but if u want sell item u get
    back only a little amount of gold maybe 10% or less, so be careful if
    u buy wrong item....
    - The Gate: somewhere in the map there stands a great gate and if u
    find it, u may meet with unlikely visitors...
    well, this is not a "governor" but this can improve gameplay while u
    found last time a lonely hero who gave you a nice item, next time
    your whole team is defeated by a couple of bandits...
    - The bird: your team gains a building what can summon a bird once in
    4 minutes what lasts for 2 minutes and can fly slowly. (priestess of the
    moon spell) u can use it to reveal places, can see invi units, but use it
    wisely, it is slow and vulnerable (can be targeted by any ranged unit)
    (hp 300, speed of little less then the original spell summon, low armor
    - The Dragon: there is a cave in the top of the map, it leads u to a
    wise and old dragon, if u answer his riddle u can choose from his
    treasure box (this option is not available to the enemy team)
    nice option to the mapmakers to give more riddles to the game in the
    later versions
    -The Lady of the Lake: same as "The dragon" but in the lake near the
    special shop

    (so if the enemy team choosed the dragon your team still have
    chance to gain this type of benefit)

    -The Carpenter: all buildings in the game have increased hp/armor
    strategy: your team have better pushers then the other team, this
    situation can only happen if u choose this governor after herochoosing
    for example: all hero is random and your team have yumi, warlord
    and no dachi, the other team have noone of these or only one


    At the moment i have only these, i hope they are balanced enough, if not we can discuss about it, and add further governors to the list...

    These will be impossible to balance. Currently everone with half a brain will pick "The moon", because having Shadowmeld will be impossibly uber.

    Furthermore - on a team of pubs, which takes time to build up a team dynamic, how the heck are they going to decide? It's just going to result in arguments. "We lost because some noob picked <This option>!"

    The 'governer' option, as it stands, is reasonably useless. You can just pool gold to someone anyway if you want to, and generally it's a sound strategy to pool for shrines. Having an in-built option to give a 'governer' some extra gold will only result in people saying "What? He has plenty of gold, he's the governer!" and not pool. This detracts from teamplay. Then there's the trying to convince people to make -you- the governer... and of course... "We lost because our governer is a noob and/or left!"

    With the amount of time and energy it would cost to simply -balance- something like this, let alone keep it in the spirit of the map and make it add to gameplay more than it subtracts... nooK could make about 10 new heroes. At least.

    I just don't see that it's worth it.

    sry, u dont understood me
    1, the governer is NOT a person, it is just a affection bonus with a name, for example "The Moon" is a governor, and someone could choose it from a list or same way like the heros, the governors stands in a circle and u choose one of it

    2, i meant NO PUB games, so stop thinking on "flamers/leavers/noobs"

    3, i wanted to show the idea overall, to make some examples, there are lots of new "governers" and if others got what i was thinking they can add some balanced, new governers/ideas to make this better

    4, i will not give up until u understand what i was thinking coz my english is bad, dont blame me if u dont understood my idea at first time

    I understand your suggestion, but I don't think it's worthwhile. In another map, where such an idea is made a focal point of the gameplay, I can see how this could be very interesting, but SL already has a style of play that has depth and that simply works, so why change it?

    i started playing recently since 0.7 some time last year and since then im trying to use more characters and seen heaps of great ideas of new heroes and just any idea when any of this would come out?? some time this half of the year? cant wait.
