I've run through this in my mind and reread the description , but i'd like other people's input. How do you all see the cleanding of Saidin? I mean how do you picture it in your mind? I' imagine it almost like saidin and saidar repelling, a tube of saidar getting pumped with saidin, but the tube so full that they just can't keep from touching and the taint somehow bursting out? interesting concept on RJ's part, really. And do you think this makes the Red Ajah pointless, anymore? i do...

In a way I thnk it does make the Red pointless but then again they could also still be used but in a different way.

Hmm...maybe Reds could take care of the Ashaman men...in other words bond them. So still working with those men but just bit differently :p
And still in the future maybe the Reds would the ones that bond men that can channel or something like that.

How I pictured the cleansing was that there was this tunnel of red orange and that saidar was actually in shape on a endless line of pedals. :look and also that sadin was ragin fire lava, hence the colours I already mentioned.

I think a channeller would only the weaves of their sex. (saidin/saidar). a non channeller would eventually see the big black blob that was shadar logoth rising skywards.
as for the reds, their role may or may not change. the aes sedai are used to being in power and are afraid of anyone wielding equal or more power. especially afraid of male channellers as they have they wield the same sort of power (the source) and thus have the same potential influence. so. if the aes sedai are unable to overcome these fears, the aes sedai and the red ajah may continue to try and find a way to destroy all male channellers. thats the more realistic outcome from information given across the books, but as of book 11 it looks like the aes sedai might be starting to lean towards conformation. though at the moment they have made clear that they will not tolerate equality. but who knows.
