    RAIN - RAIN - RAIN
I woke up this morning and the first thing I saw was RAIN

I was cleaning up my appartement and when I was looking through the window all I saw was RAIN

I was sitting at the table with my kids having lunch and all I saw was RAIN

I was doing my work at the computer and while looking outside all I saw was RAIN

I just called my doctor to ask if I need to be on time. I will have to bring my kids with me for that appointment and I told them that when I wanted to leave my place all I saw was RAIN -lol

I need to be there in half an hour now - I hope that at this time there will be something else but RAIN outside

wow - this is not even RAIN - this is a waterfall !!! Good I can stay here for a little while longer...

Re: RAIN - RAIN - RAIN

    Idril - 29.08.2006, 15:09

Ja, das ist es, was ich meine. Niesel ist kein Regen. Aber ich weiß das/die englische(n) Wort/Wörter dafür nicht :?

LOL - yes, you are right - we were just looking for the right words and couldnīt find them in English

I was wondering what kind of rain Idril is talking about - she is talking about this really soft rain - not the one that is coming down on you like wet powder, but soft rain ... awwwww - now you understand why we were talking German - lol

Re: RAIN - RAIN - RAIN

    Idril - 29.08.2006, 19:20

So let's just stop talking about that rain I don't like.

I'm a little late on this but we've had rain since Sunday - I had to make several detours yesterday going to the hospital and home. Wonder how many I'll have to make today when I leave -

We are never really happy about the weather, right? Some say itīs too hot and some donīt like the rain no more - lol. We will have to take it the way it is anyways ... Iīm glad we have some nice and sunny days again! I love to feel the sun on my skin and be outside all day long - if possible:).

Re: RAIN - RAIN - RAIN

    enelya06 - 14.09.2006, 18:31

I love the sunshine and the way it makes me feel - even though it's quite raining here there is still no sunshine....but that's ok. It's supposed to be beautiful this weekend - time for me to get out in my flowers and plant some for next year.

we had snow flurries here yesterday afternoon brrrrrr - I do enjoy the winter but not during the fall. Last year spring came in Jan for a week then back to winter - then straight into summer now it seems straight into winter again. There is no happy medium. :(

Re: RAIN - RAIN - RAIN

We're going straight back to summer. It's so warm here. :x

Normally our cold weather doesn't hit till Jan. Last year we were still in the low 80's at this time we really didn't have much of a winter last year but the ones before - wow.

I know what you mean - it was beautiful Sat, Sun and Mon. but come Tue rain again - it was supposed to be out of here but guess what more rain on Wed - when will it quit! I'm beginning to feel like a duck - but at least it's not ice yet. it is depressing though.

We had storm and rain and even ice rain today!!! It's getting autum! :D :D :D :D But when I tried to get to school on bike I was nearly blown off my bike and I needed about 10 min. for 100 meters before I gave up and my mum brought me to school with her car.

Today it is raining here alot. :( I hate it.
    It is dark and rainy.

My cousinīs son is here this week. He is visiting a school close to my home. He planed to live in a student home but he did not make it.
He lives with my dad and me. He miss his parents. That is really cute.
He is only 15 and really shy. :)

Re: RAIN - RAIN - RAIN

    newnativspirit - 16.11.2006, 16:24

15 - thatīs really cute that he is shy - lol

we have a wonderful sunny day back here where I live and itīs pretty much too warm for November. Itīs nice, but it also makes me feel dizzy ... it might also be because Iīm soooooooooooooooooooo tired. Just got off work an hour ago and had to hurry to pick up my little one at kindergarten and then rush home, because my other daughter were all by herself at home (first time today that she had her own key with her).

... and like usual when Iīm stressed out, I didnīt really eat and drink.
LOL - so it might not be the weather that I feel dizzy ... LOL

Re: RAIN - RAIN - RAIN

    Mela - 16.11.2006, 16:29

I remember yesterday when my father asked him about girls,
he started to blushing more than Idril.
Anne you should try to eat and drink more. I do not want you to be sick.

Re: RAIN - RAIN - RAIN

    newnativspirit - 16.11.2006, 16:36

... more than Idril? Impossible - lol

yeah, itīs typical for that age ... the official version is always that girls are not important yet, but of course they are !!! My son had his first girlfriend in the age of 16 ... and I was happy about it ... I remember one time when they got ready to go out and my son was doing his hair in the bathroom my daughter went in there and came back laughing. She said "Mom, Daniel just got a kiss from his gf - right on his mouth!" LOL my sonīs head was red as a tomato when he came out of the bathroom. LOL yeah, it didnīt last very long (I mean that he was with this girl) and since then I never heard of any other gf again - itīs not important at the moment. He knows a lot of girls and they come and visit and hang out, but nothing more is going on ... itīs ok ! So I wonīt have to worry to become a granny pretty soon - LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL

I promise to eat and drink !!!! LOL Hey, but in my age I also have to watch my weight - lol

Course we've not had rain in a little over a week - but they are calling for a shower or t-storm tomorrow then the white stuff by Friday night - going from around 68 down to 38 - deeeeeep freeezzzzeee time.

well for the last two years we had nothing but rain to the point of flooding and the ground being extremely soft. This year it looks like a drought has set in. They are calling for some rain maybe tomorrow night and into Sunday but I'll believe it when I see it. I need to get that photo posted on here - maybe I'll go do that now.

well we did get about 5 minutes of a downpour yesterday at work and then a little rain at home. They are calling for showers the rest of the week so it will most likely be a hit and miss thing.

It is cooler this am which is a nice change from the hot humid stuff we've been having.

Re: RAIN - RAIN - RAIN

    enelya06 - 06.06.2007, 14:51

well we got some much needed rain yesterday - the weather radio went crazy all afternoon - it's cool here today - I'm freezing and have my space heater on. My sweater I nornally keep here is at home :?

Oh I took some photos of my new curtains and the native american material I bought. I got some wolf prints and think I might make a quilt out of the pieces course I'll have to get some more but I made a wall hanging out of one panel. I'll post them here.

curtains I made - not real good but ok.

think I'll make a pillow out of this

this material has different wolf scenes but I decided to make a wall-hanging.

Wal-mart has a large selection of fabric like this and so many different types of patterns - my curtains are made out of. I may go get a variety and make a quilt. I've not made one of those is forever. If you want me to get you some I can.

Iīll think about it - thanks for offering it to me.

I never made a quilt by myself, but I LOVE them. I always wanted to get one for each of my daughters to keep for a lifetime, but you canīt get real nice quilts over here and if you can get them they are VERY expensive.

one of my grandmothers handmade quilts sold for like $500.00 over here. I've not attempted to make one for about 8 years now so I'm going to give it a whirl - maybe a small one not a full-size one.

Well, I just survived a weird weekend of weather. Friday we had hail, rain, and sun all within three hours. Gotta love Ohio for our weather!! It's actually a joke in our state- don't like the weather, wait an hour and it will change. Saturday was great with the sun peaking through so we could pick up all the sticks that fell from the trees on friday. Today was good too, but kinda chilly compared to what we've had lately (by chilly I mean only in the low 70's F). Alas, we are supposed to warm back up this week and get ready for another bout in the mid to upper 80's. That's too hot for me- I prefer 76F, it's my perfect temp. Not too hot but not too cool.

It's been quite warm here too. We've had some days hitting 90 degrees farenheit (sorry- my celcius to farenheit isn't too good to translate) and that's great for my tomato plants, but aweful for us to deal with. Thank goodness for central air.

Hope you all are dealing well with the heat and rain. Nice thing about the two combined is that it makes a really cool fog at night. Everything gets all spooky.

Re: RAIN - RAIN - RAIN

I like it when itīs foggy ... but only when I wonīt have to walk home in the middle of the night. Usually Iīm not afraid of walking home all by myself (my sis is so scared - something might happen!), but if itīs foggy itīs kinda scary to me too.

Right now we have wonderful sunny morning - kind of chilly, but I donīt think that it will stay like this. I remember last year on June 10 it was so damn hot !!! ... I just got over a cold and had to deal with my hay fever !!! That was fantastic :x !
well, weīll see what the weather will be like for the rest of the day ...

Oh, btw we had a real bad thunderstorm on Saturday!!! The energy was gone twice at work !!! We couldnīt do anything for like over an hour !!! Mellie and I were only working a half shift cause of her b-day. It was fun! Started at 2 pm to our first short break at 3 and then had to wait to 3:40 for the energy to be back and then again from 3:50 to 4:30 pm no energy!!! Well, for the rest of our shift it was raining hard and thunder was surrounding us - I liked it, but Mellie was sooooooooooooo afraid!
Ok - it was kinda weird with all these metal and machines, but I trusted the company

I mean, it is Winter after all!

Re: RAIN - RAIN - RAIN

    newnativspirit - 18.06.2007, 08:57

yes, thatīs what a lot of people over here do think about Australia. I can only imagine that your winter must be similar to winter in Nigeria (where I used to live when I was young). I remember that I always hated to be in countries where you have "good weather" almost every day. Today I wish we would have nice and warm weather every single day back here in Germany ... this is weird. but when I was a little kid I missed snow for Christmas that much. We were spending Christmas in the pool or relaxing in the sun.

So therefor I guess I have at least an idea what the weather must be like where you live.

    Hi Sisters!

Hope things are going great with everyone - I'm at Sister Beans Coffee House enjoying a latte and going through my mail. I'm not real comfortable being on a "public computer" and you really have no privacy. (will explain later)

We are getting ready to be under the gun - they are calling for some real nasty stuff so I'll probably get caught in it but oh well. I've accomplished a lot while being off and it's just nice to have some time. I've thought about you all every day and wondered what you all may be doing.

Keri arrived in Hawaii ok - they are 5 hours behind. She called me yesterday at 3 p.m. said it was 10 a.m. there. She's having a good time so far. She's supposed to be sending me photos to share.

going to close for now and see what all other is in my mail. I'll be back on line later on this week.

    Take care

    Love
    Nancy

hey I didn't forget :) I'll be glad to get back in the routine of things. i've got guite alot accomplished at home will finish up the bathroom tonight. We did get a day of rain but could cetarinly use some more. It's so hot and humid outside and the grass is dying along with flowers and schurbs. Looks like the drought has sit in.

Keri is having a good time in Hawaii - she is 6 hours behind me and says she's put photos on but being on a public computer it's sort of difficult to pull up - it's quite at sister beans today - I think this weekend I'm going to go into work and get on my computer from there - I'll feel more comfortable.

Joy oh Joy - we had 2 full days of rain - sometimes hard down pours and others just straight rain.....it's supposed to rain again today. At least the foliage is getting some much needed water.

    enelya06 - 25.06.2007, 16:09

it's peaking through the clouds now - they are still working on our A/C can you believe it's been almost 2 weeks and they still can't get it right. Course the campus was without electric over the weekend - that is why the LG&E people were here.

Re: RAIN - RAIN - RAIN

    Idril - 25.06.2007, 18:22

We have a lot of rain here, too. But when the rain stops it starts to get pretty warm immediately. Like in a house for tropic plants. :?

Re: RAIN - RAIN - RAIN

    enelya06 - 25.06.2007, 19:04

it can get like that here from time to time - we can get a heavy downpour and when it stops the weather is more humid and hot than before. Course it's been so long since we had any - up to Sat that is. We had some really nice showers - much needed and we need more.

well we're supposed to be in the "hot zone" and it's supposed to be very humid. At least the A/C is working for now.

Wales is under water and in Italy the forests are on fire. Here it's raining and storming all the time. It's not that I didn't like that kind of weather, but the wind breaks our tomatoplants and without tomatoplants there wont be any tomatoes and without any tomatoes my mum wont be able to cook the best tomato soop ever. :(

Re: RAIN - RAIN - RAIN

    enelya06 - 26.06.2007, 17:27

I love home made tomato soup. Rain and hail can really destory things. Gardens are subject to the worse and plants too.

It's extremely hot and humid outside - I'll most likely roast when I leave here.

We are praying for rain in Ohio. We are nearly in a drought, and though we get spurts of rain here and there, there hasn't been a really good rain in a few weeks. We are hoping for some today and tomorrow, and it should bring releif from the the heat too! It's been 90+ degrees farenheit for the past two weeks. Seems like Monday through Thursday it's 85+, then we get a shower and the next three days are 75+. It's so inconsistant that we have been watering our garden more than normal this year. We usually get a good douse of rain in June, and July and August it dries out. But, this year we are laking in June- so I hope July and August bring more water.

Yes tomato soup is yummy! I'm not big on fresh tomatoes (yes, I know I'm the odd bird), but I can my own spaghetti sauce, tomato soup, salsa, and tomato juice to use throughout the winter. I've got a good size garden this year; 29 tomato plants, 120 feet of potatoes, two yellow squash plants, one zucchini plant, 15 pepper plants- sweet and cayanne, four melon plants, about 8 cabbages, 5 celery plants, 6 brocolli plants, 14 cucumbers (staged three weeks apart so I have cukes all summer), 12 green bean plants, 8 shell bean plants, carrots, and lots of lettuces we've been eating since the beginning of June- it's so yummy!! Oh, and then the snap peas- but they are about gone now. Time to pull them up and put in more turnips and radishes, or maybe I'll put in some pumpkins seeds and see how they grow. I've grown pumpkins before- but they sprawled out and only produced three pumpkins on 40 feet of vines- I need to learn how to care for them and get a better yield in less space.

Well we had a weekend of rain and then a nice little storm between 6 and 9...it was lightening when I left JCP for home but you could tell it had rained hard.

I had some tomato soup when I got home last night but no grilled cheese. I didn't eat any sandwich just the soup.

tea does me that way too. Normally when I drink a lot of water and if it's late at night - I'm up around 4 because I have to go then the dogs get up and want to go outside so they are out there for a few and then trying to go back to sleep is impossible.

Mouse, your vegetable garden sounds fantastic! You must have a lot of room out there!

I drink heaps of water, probably between 2-3 litres per day.

I've been on line more because it's quiet here at work - now I do have to do some work but the summer semester is just real slow and come the end of July till almost the end of August - it will be dead....so I can get on more now than before.

Sometimes it's hard to keep up with all the topics and new posts. I think I spent a total of 4 hours on-line yesterday. Right now it's 8:05 a.m. here.

Re: RAIN - RAIN - RAIN

    mouseears89 - 28.06.2007, 23:18

Hey Evanstar- I have about 3 acres, but it's 1/3 wooded. So I really only count the 2 since that' what my husband has to mow (hahaha). Seriously, I have small house, two car garage, long a$$ driveway that splits into three sections (my neighbors share our driveway- the neighbors we like thank goodness  ) and then the trees and such. I'm technically challenged in regards to posting pics because I don't have an online account- or else I would show you all my place. We want to put a fence up to block out the devil and his girlfriend who live next door (that's a whole other topic which I don't care to discuss), but we just had to have our well re-dug 8 feet and a new well-pump put in. So, we may have to wait until next year for the money to put up the fence. I try to not plant more than I have time to tend- but I always over plant and then I'm so busy I get behind in my other chores. I would like to raise some chickens, but with little one not in school yet, she takes up a lot of my time (but it's totally worth it) so I don't want to take on anymore projects right now. Plus, with satan having access to our property because we don't have the fence, I'm afraid he would do something to them. He's that kind of person who doesn't repect other people's privacy or bounderies.

Re: RAIN - RAIN - RAIN

    evenstar - 29.06.2007, 03:33

Wow, I would love to have such a big property to plant a big vegetable garden on! It must feel so great to be eating food that you have planted and grown for yourself.

As for the pics, you don't need an online account to post them. Just go to this website and load your pics through there to get a link that you can copy and paste into this forum.

Here everything is just full of stress... And the kids I have to give vaulting-lessons too are so annoying, because they are so stupid! (Sorry, I have to say that, but it's true. Two of them are really mentally and physicly handicaped, it's official, but the rest... something is missing... You talk to them, they look at you, they smile, but no reaction. You tell them to do that and either they do what they did before (and that wrong) or the will do something else... Or they just sit around doing nothing... Or they throw with dirt.... I want a holidy!!!!!! :x )

Re: RAIN - RAIN - RAIN

I quite teaching for that very same reason - they just don't care and I didn't like wasting my time...too got to feeling like a babysitter after a while. You are making perfect sense.

Re: RAIN - RAIN - RAIN

    Idril - 29.06.2007, 21:37

Yeah. You really feel like a babysitter. The parents come, give their children to you for one and half our and pick them up again... It's so... I can't find a word for it. It starts to piss me off. :x

Re: RAIN - RAIN - RAIN

    enelya06 - 29.06.2007, 21:38

I just had to give it up we had them for like 2 hours and after 5 years - I said "no more" a lot of kids today do not have any respect for teachers or anyone.

Re: RAIN - RAIN - RAIN

    Idril - 29.06.2007, 21:41

And what's so shocking is, that a lot of things are too stiff/fat/not fit enough for things that were normal just a few years ago. We had to learn cartwheels in school, here the teachers are happy if the children can walk on their own feet and don't have to "roll" around... :?

Re: RAIN - RAIN - RAIN

    enelya06 - 29.06.2007, 21:43

it's all changed so much since I was little.

Re: RAIN - RAIN - RAIN

    Idril - 29.06.2007, 21:46

The flexibility of children of today is totally different to the flexibility of children in my age... It's so shocking! They even can't control their own bodyparts. They don't know where their feet and arms are :?

Re: RAIN - RAIN - RAIN

    enelya06 - 29.06.2007, 21:49

hey some of my students here at the university can't do those things still. I'm surprised they made it through college.

Parents just don't seem to care like they did when I was growing up...course with the economy the way it is it almost takes two to work to make ends meet and then you have "latch key kids" unless there is a relative that can watch them.

I hated giving up the teaching jobs but after I did I quite being sick. I would actually get sick on the days I had to work with them. I know that sounds bad but sometimes you have to draw a line. I won't be cussed at by a 9 year old or anyone else for that matter.

Re: RAIN - RAIN - RAIN

    Idril - 29.06.2007, 21:53

yep. I would give it up, too, but sometimes it can be funny to work with the kids and 20% of them are "normal" so that you can talk to them and they can help you. But others... Well, I don't have to teach them next week, because I'm on a vacation I have to do for scholl (    ) and I don't have to teach them in the holidays either. Time to concentrate only on the horse again :) (allthough the horse can be a nice *******, too)

I just got back from town, where our annual Volksfest is going on since Friday. It will last to Sunday and for the kids itīs always exciting. I had to work this morning (Iīm up for over 12 hours now) and I feel damn tired right now. I promised my daughter to watch the US5 Dvd together with her tonight and we got us some food and soft drinks ... it looks like it will be raining again soon and so itīs a good idea to stay in bed and cuddle !!! LOL we still have too much rain and for Friday they promised that it will be hot and dry - FINALLY SUMMER. But then the change is always coming too fast and people do get sick easily ... Summer vacation started here today and so Iīm looking forward to being lazy tomorrow ... and being with my girls !!!

My father thinks something might be wrong with my back, because my head doesn't stop hurting. I'm not in school today, because I can't think, I can't even walk straight :? My mum wants to give me a massage later and if that doesn't help we will visit the doctor.

I think your dad is right ... I remember you mentioned problems with your back earlier and if you canīt stand straight it can rather be your muscles or your backbone. Youīd better go and see a doctor!!!

I had problems with my back yesterday after I needed to carry Emma. There is always one of my thoracic vertebra slipping away (is that the right way to say it?) and itīs giving me a hard time for a while till itīs slipping back in the backbone again. Itīs bothering my left body side then and even breathing does hurt. It was like that yesterday and it slipped back in yesterday evening ... lol ... right on time for having painless fun with my "Monday-women" at the Volksfest. Hmmm ... had a few glasses of champagne and fun - lol

My right shoulder and that side of my neck hurt when I've done too much. I've a pinched nerve in my shoulder and sometimes it feels like someone is taking a knife and stabbing me in it - the pain is so throbbing.
My doctor gave me exercises to help with it.

Idril you need to have your back checked out and make sure nothing serious is wrong with it.

as far as I know, sheīs been to a doctor because of her back. Itīs from her sports! But if she keeps on having a headache she definitely should get a professional/medical massage! She should get a general check up to see what is wrong with her ... there are too many possible causes for bad pain in your back and headaches!

The doc will check my back on wednesday. I'm a bit afraid he will say I shouldn't do vaulting anymore, but my back just doesn't stop hurting. It's getting better, but that could be because I'm getting used to the pain. :?

Possibly one can be in pain so long it just becomes every day. I'll be hoping it isn't bad.

my arm and shoulder is still bothering me. One of our new professors is a ergonomics/medical studies engineer and she's trying to help me reach a good threshold of how I sit at work....she thinks that is the root of my problem with my arm and shoulder - even though I told her I've a pinched nerve...she says ever the more reason to "sit properly" and be able to touch your whole foot to the floor and the keyboard down about 2 more feet. I can't even touch the floor with my whole foot.

I went to a physical therapist for about 3 months and I must say she really helped me - I don't do the exercises like I should but they did wonders. In fact my corporal tunnel and heal spur disappeared altogether - course I still do those exercises from time to time.

It took about 2 weeks before I really noticed an improvement.
