    Here are a selection of part more important from the Spitfire crash site. Some idea about unknow part? Thanks. I have identified aircraft and his pilot. As soon is possible I'll post a report about him.

    i think the sprocket (1) was attached to the control column and the chain (2) fitted on the sprocket. this then went to the control cable.

    if you go to this website. http://www.simcontrol.co.uk/offboard.htm
    there are photos of a new control column. look at the one almost half way down labeled "TOP OF CONTROL COLUMN SHOWING CHAIN SPROCKET MOUNTED ON BALL ROLLER BEARING"............ i think this is the same sprocket.
    look 4 photos below that and you can see the chain fitted to the sprocket.
