    Trofei C1 CUP in Italy
In Italy Gruppo PERONI invented the Trofei C1 CUP, a circuit race of six events with a modified C1. The 1000cc 3 cilinder engine, that delivers normaly 68HP delivers 90HP by changing the exhaust system and the admission.
It is on 185/55-R14 Dunlop tyres..., (the normal version is on 155/65-R14 tyres) It has Biltstein suspension, brembo brakes, seat cage and revcounter.

We already have seen two races, at Varano and Imola. Next sunday there will be the third race at the circuit of Adria.
The car, which are all transformed by Peroni costs 15000euro.

Well this is a lot of fun for upcomming talents!

At the moment there is no Aygo CUP, but in France there was a Red Cross Aygo race, with a standard Aygo on larger tyres.
And there is the Aygo football...

But if you want the C1 CUP in Germany, spread the news and lets try to make the C1 CUP European.

Now it an initiative independent of Citroën, by Gruppo Peroni, who is also the initiator of the Trofei Alfa CUP in Italy.

As said before, next sunday at the circuit of ADRIA the third race.

Lets see if Savoia (first in varano) who was disqualified at Imola on a leading position can win from Miconi, second in Varano and first in Imola and leader of the Trofei with 55 points

Miconi crashed at Monza last sunday as well as Gagliardini while they were leading the race. Miconi had the pole.

Also Savoia crashed in qualify and was never really at his maximum. Now the standing is much closer. Good for the trophy!

This is an Italian thing, "invented" by Peroni.
It has nothing to do, nor with Citroën France or Citroën Italy!

    No French drivers though.

But..., if we want to we do can make this C1 CUP becomes a European thing.
Talk about it - ask for it, make publicity like I do!

Three drivers have confirmed their participation thus far via our website.

    ...

    7 Alex CAMPANI (C&C Racing)

26 Francesco SAVOIA (Play Racing) --> profilo online

    ## Sabina RAVIGLIONE (Biella Motorteam)
    ...

It is very likely that 2006 Champion Carlo Casillo will be back behind the wheel with his C1, but he has yet to confirm that.

Alex Campani and Francesco Savoia both competed in the 2006 C1 Cup. Savoia was a title contender for most of the season, taking two wins in the opener in Varano and the final race in Vallelunga. In between he did just enough to secure 2nd overall and the Under 25 title.
Alex Campani is still to young to have a driver's license, but he is definitely fast enough to race. He took a podium in Monza after a beautiful comeback and finished third in the Under 25 championship.
Sabina Raviglione is a welcome newcomer in the series. She is just 16 and only raced in karting so far, but she is confident she will give her rival Francesca Linossi a run for her money.

We are looking forward to receive more information from the organization regarding more entries. It is estimated that 25 to 30 drivers should race for the 2007 opener in Monza.

With thanks to the Casillo Family who let me enjoy the spectacle from the inside. Pit, Pitlane and the stands with all the little devils that make a lot of noice.
The cars are tickling each other, and are lifting there 2 inside wheels when they round the corner at the end of long right.

This is realy fun this is howmotorcar racing is pleasure for all. Not the big money, but the real lovers and passionates!

And it's fun for young and old.

Here is the story as written by the son of Carlo Casillo, hope I'll bring you some pictures soon.

    Tchao.

    MONZA - RACE

Andrea Gagliardini emerges from the crowd

Andrea Gagliardini won the first C1 Cup race in 2007, after starting from the fifth position. Behind him on the podium were Casillo, the reigning champion, and the 2006 runner-up, Francesco Savoia.

In qualifying Fulgenzi took pole in a session that was hit by timekeeping problems. He managed to do just a tenth better than Savoia, who also just shaded Casillo. Behind them the Gagliardini brothers took 4th and 5th respectively, with Francesco just ahead of Andrea. In sixth position there was Milla. Alex Campani had to start from the back of the grid following an engine failure in practice.

At the start Savoia immediately overtook Fulgenzi, as Casillo behind them managed to keep Francesco Gagliardini behind. His brother Andrea hit Milla forcing him out. At the Ascari chicane Fulgenzi felt pressure from Casillo and spun to rejoin the field in 14th position. The battle allowed Tricerri, who had started 7th, to finish the first lap in 3rd position.

In the meanwhile, on the straight before the first chicane, Serratore had heavily hit the concrete wall after a contact which also involved Bifulco. The driver was stuck in the car as a result and it was necessary to aid him with an ambulance. As a consequence, the Safety Car was deployed. The injuries for Serratore were not worrying, though.

At the restart Savoia kept the first position, as Casillo behind him had to brake very late to keep Tricerri behind. In the rest of the lap, A. Gagliardini managed a wonderful comeback, being thhird at the Ascari. Once in Parabolica, Casillo attacked Savoia who was too surprised to realise that A. Gagliardini also squeezed himself in the space and overtook.

In the next lap, Casillo had to surrender at the Roggia, but A. Gagliardini did not seeme to be able to pull away. Behind them Francesco Gagliardini overtook Tricerri.

In fact during lap 7 Casillo set a time of 2.42”388 which gave him the fastest lap (with a 2 point bonus) and the new track record. But it was also during this lap that the driver from Campania realised he did not have enough power to attack and only tried to disturb his young rival in the rest of the race. Meanwhile the battle for 3rd was heating up with Savoia, F. Gagliardini and Tricerri all battling for the lowest spot of the podium.

Under the chequered flag Andrea Gagliardini took his first C1 Cup win, ahead of Casillo and Savoia who kept Francesco Gagliardini and Roberto Tricerri behind. Behind them, after a beautiful comeback finished Fulgenzi, Campani and Milla, as Verdiani and Troja rounded up the top 10. The drivers making their debut in the championship, with the exception of Francesco Gagliardini, all finished outside the top 10, with Saggese in 11th, Carotenuto 15th, the actor Ettore Bassi, who is famous for the TV fiction “Carabinieri”, in 16th, and Raviglione who finished 17th. Pavoni had to retire.

In The Under 25 èit was Andrea Gagliardini to win, ahead of Savoia and his brother Francesco.
In the Over 40, Casillo claimed his seventh win in a row ahead of Milla and Troja.
