I don't know if this has been asked yet but, how did you guys meet up and get together to become Iron Savior? How long have you known each other? (Oh, I love stories. :D)

Nice question, can't wait for an answer :P All I know is Kai and Piet had worked together with Gentry/ Second Hell/ Iron Fist, and that Gorgar was written during those times (lol, as i found out), and that Piet wanted to play and make awesome music (which he did tremendously) and that they evolved into Iron Savior. Initially with Kai, and now without - though they're all friends :P
But lol this is my own little prattle, can't wait for Piet to tell us the tale :P

I know that Piet and Yenz visit this forum regularly but please be so patient and understanding that they cannot discuss with you as much as you do with eachother although they give their best. It could also be that one of them doesn't have the time to post and just reads what you ask and will answer later... :!:

On some fine day in the past we discussed the common question - why Piet didn't join Helloween while he had the chance. Of course, we joked, but in some words the ideas were:

1. Helloween got two guitar players, Kai & Mike, but there was no a good singer. Piet wanted to play & sing all the time, so they couldn't decide the problem :)
2. We thought that Piet sang in the same way like in present days, and his vocals, manner of singing wasn't actual for those years (but what to do with Kiske? M.b. Kai & Weiki tired at all with their ableness with that).
3. We don't know if it's true, but Piet didn't want to join the band because all metalheds of that times got a long-long hair! So Piet didn't and waited for the period when some "fathers of the world metal" got short hair-cut. :wink:
Remeber - nothing personal, it only jokes. IS forever! :!:

Well... the question you mentioned there is indeed discussed, and sometimes I think to myself as well. It's always awesome to hear Kai and Piet sing together (I love Predators! :P) and maybe if they had kept on playing together they would've taken the world by storm, because it's so wonderful!
But on the other hand, even though Iron Savior came about a bit later, we have 2 AMAZING bands :D
That's what I always tell myself lol :P But I believe Piet had his own reasons to back out right there - maybe he knew the chemistry wasn't right, or too right. Whatever the reason (and maybe Piet will tell us someday) - I, for one, am damn happy he went about to form SAVIOR!!! :D

You know what's funny? When I first heard Iron Savior, before knowing what they look like, I imagined the lead singer having no hair. And I later find out I was right. :D

If you'll look what hair had rockers & metalheads in 80-90th, you'll find out that fact. But then they began to cut it... Thomas Nack had long hair while GammaRay times%)
& I repeat - it only were jokes while drinking beer%)
Also we all know, when Kai supported Piet & Co, but already wanted to leave the band, during their conserts played 3 guitars - Piet's, Kai's, Joachim's. Noone of them wanted to be only singing or only playing%))))
The quiestion is staying alive! :)

lol Yep, I agree about the long hair in those times. But both of you are right - we don't really need it. It's your choice. If you like it, fine - else, still fine :P
And you're right lol... I think the 'only guitar' or 'only singing' wouldn't work :P
