    CENTRAL STATION
This is a place to stay in contact. Think of it like a very slow chat... Use it for just saying "Hi" to others, to talk about little things (which don't need a topic) and to meet other members and guests on a regular basis.

    I declare this basar open...

    Hi! :o)
Hey ya all! How has this weekend started? Nothing too exciting this week for me... This evening I'm going to see a friend of mine who plays with his ska band not far from here and tomorrow it will be a *family* day: my niece has a show with her dance school, she's going to be one of the zebras of The Lion King ballet and we all have to be there. Cute! :D Nothing special, you see... what are you all up to, guys?
    Have a nice weekend! :D

Heh, shoulda looked around a little more before saying something, or I'd have done this here the first time. lol

    Re: CENTRAL STATION

    Roxy - 26.06.2004, 10:25

    Hi!
Welcome Angelvi! Nice to see I'm not the only female creature on this board!! :D I checked your page, you're making a great job with your comics, the sketches are very good! :D It seems the anime and manga stuff are very popular also in the States, uh? Here people are crazy for them. I like them, but honestly I prefer other kinds of comics, a completely different style of drawing, darker and mostly black and white, like O'Barr's *The Crow*... Years ago I was crazy for Dylan Dog. It's written and designed by an Italian staff and it tells about the adventures of a so called *detective of mistery*. Mostly he has to deal with zombies, vampires and similar *cute* creatures. Nice graphic and very funny horror stories!

    Re: CENTRAL STATION

    Angelvi - 27.06.2004, 02:26

Thanks. I'm glad you like my artwork. I've actually been trying to make my own style when it comes to comics, because I have been drawing anime for so long, and now it's hard to break the habit. But I'm slowly getting out of it.

Oh, the story. Haven´t thought about that in years. I guess its supposed to show how displaced I often feel in this world. Maggie is my second name, you know. :?

I had a look at some of your art. You are quite a genious, imo. Your next exhibition starting soon? I think I read that somewhere. :)

Feeling displaced in this world?... Oh, I know that feeling very well, dear.. :? Anyhow, are you writing something at the moment?
As for my shows, there should be a collective show soon, but it seems it will be postponed... :? And I'm waiting news from a gallery in Lucca (a town on the coast), to see if they are interested in showing my works or not.
But hey, nobody called me genius until now!!! I'm jumping for joy, you made my day, believe me!!! :D :D

And no, normally I´m not writing stuff. I thought about writing some music around that story, but somehow my daytime job is taking too much time, and I have some other troubles, and health problems, and bands...too much to tell, really...

Or maybe I´m just a lazy bastard. 8)

Will you tell us when your exhibition will take place then? And how the reactions are? And if you sold a lot of stuff? *amazon´s keeping her fingers crossed for Roxy* :)

What's your job, if I can ask? :)

I'm always ready for a beer with friends!! :D

Btw, also my sister is a teacher and me... uh... too... I think... I mean, I don't work in a school like my sister, I mostly teach privately or in small classes organized by local associations, but basically I teach drawing and painting to adults and children. What do you teach?

    Re: CENTRAL STATION

Roxy wrote: I mostly teach privately or in small classes organized by local associations, but basically I teach drawing and painting to adults and children. What do you teach?

    So you´re a teacher, too! :)

What I teach? ompf, that is difficult, its gotten more the older I get. I studied English, Biology and Chemistry and have been teaching those for about 15 years, and some Physics, because I studied that for some terms, but without a degree. Then slowly but surely I also started teaching Maths, Computer science, German and Social studies. At the moment I mainly teach apprentices who want to become hairdressers or florists, but also a heap of students who want to get a school degree and didn´t manage to in ordinary schools...so many of them are older, between 18 and 25.

I work at a special school for underpriviledged kids in Kreuzberg, which is considered a sort of "ghetto" by many ppl

I really love my job and "my kids".

Oh, lately I´ve stareted teaching violin/fiddle.

The only thing about my main job is that it takes too much time. Otherwise I could make more music, imo. :)

    Re: CENTRAL STATION

    Roxy - 11.10.2005, 15:19

I see, it sounds interesting! What I don't get is your scholar system... Let me explain... My sister studied Physics and mathematics at the University and she can ONLY teach physics, maths and some other related subjects. She could never legally teach Italian or philosophy or history, if you get what I mean... I suppose your scholar system is pretty different in this, uh?

    Re: CENTRAL STATION

    metalamazon - 11.10.2005, 16:57

Normally it is like that in Germany, too...but we have far too few teachers, and the schools have no money...slowly but surely each teacher had to work more and more over the last 15 years, and many have to teach more and more subjects, too.

When I started I only had to teach 24 lessons each week, now I´m at 38 lessons per week. And classes get bigger...now we are at 30 pupils minimum. I often wonder how pupils in Germany can learn anything under those circumstances.

Its worse for the pupils than for the teachers, I think. We can still cope somehow, but the whole situation sux big time. :(

    Re: CENTRAL STATION

    Helloweenie - 11.10.2005, 23:27

    School system in Germany...
... well, in my eyes, the school system in Germany is really VERY BAD! It selects too much achievment orientated, the school system is devided into to many different kinds of schools and does not take care of the individual strength of each student!
Further more the teachers are not able to take care of each student as much as it is needed in todays world. The classes are too high and the teacher are not educated to be able to help in difficult situations!
Our way of teaching should not be to try to integrate children with learning difficulties... the best way would be the inclusion of all children in ONE school!

Harald (will be a teacher myself soon...)

    Re: CENTRAL STATION

    metalamazon - 12.10.2005, 06:06

I´m absolutely of the same opinion, Harald!

What kind of school will you teach at? And what subjects do you study? Actually, I studied in Hannover, too. :)

    Re: CENTRAL STATION

    Helloweenie - 12.10.2005, 20:12

    Fächer... (subjects)
Well, I studied: Lehramt für Sonderpädagogik (Verhalten/Lernen) und Unterrichtsfächer sind Sachunterricht und Sport.

Want to make my "Referendariat" at a elementary school but don't know if I will be able to as a "Sonderpädagoge". At the moment I am working at the "IGS Mühlenberg" in Hannover.

    Harald.

PS.: Sorry for some German words in here, I just gave the German words for my studies!

    Re: CENTRAL STATION

    metalamazon - 12.10.2005, 22:10

I know the IGS Mühlenberg, I did some "Hospitationen" there when I was still studying.

    I´m actually a Realschullehrerin.
I did my Referendariat in Melle and Osnabrück, and later taught at Haupt- und Realschulen in Mecklenburg/Vorpommern, but I quit 6 years ago and came to Berlin. At the moment I´m teaching at a Berufsschule. Altogether I´ve been teaching for over 15 years now.

And its still fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuun! Never give up, Harald, even if its really, really hard in the beginning! The kids are worth it. :)

Oh, btw...just for laughs: I´m radioactive today...went to the doc to get some examination of my kidneys, and they injected something, so I´m radiating tonight. 8)

   Two years ago I had a similar medical check too.... girl, did you think you were the only radioactive super-woman in here?? 8)

Anyhow, I see your scholar system is a bit in trouble... I can tell the same about the Italian one. Since our actual prime minister and his weird government started trying to turn all our public services into private ones, the scholar system turned into a chaos. Teachers aren't specialized enough, there are no clear *plans of study* for the kids who enter high school for the first time and they don't really know what to choose... there aren't structures or programs to help disabled or problematic kids and no teachers specialized to help them... I really hope with the next election things will change, but an eventually new government will have to work hard to bring the situation back to a good level.... :(

What do you mean by "only superpower"? It contains a heap of special powers! Like drinking enormous amounts of beer, staying up all night long to watch your fav bands, watching 20 bands in a row at festivals without ever getting tired, and an absolutely indestructable hearing power. 8)

For the belly thing.... uh..... I see.... so I can't stop my daily fitness... umpf...
Well, maybe we could be invisible only when entering a show... then we can show ourselves again... as for the bankrupt stuff, well... WE are the only superheros right now, they won't go bankrupt only because of three superfans!

@power_metaaaaaaaal: hey, you already have some *power* in your name, what do you want more??

I think they have more than three superfans already, what about atlantis?! He seems to be a superfan... :)
But being invisible could be useful in other situations, imo. You could run around naked in the park without being seen, take a swim without clothes on...and so on. 8) I think that would be really refreshing. And my stupid neighbour would not be angry at me for running around my flat naked after having a shower. :?

Oh, how strange! :D All my friends consider me like a little witch at times.... don't know why exactly.... they say it's because of my attitude, they would see me well in the shoes of a good witch!   Maybe it's because I am a Skorpio, born in the witches season!

Hey power_metaaaaaaaal!! Leave some powers for us too!!

I think in my case my pupils have a heap of reasons: I studied Chemistry and Biology, am interested in herbs, and I have long, red curly hair...lol... 8)

It could also be a bit about my attitude, or that I often dess like a goth.

    Science has finally beaten gravity!

    1.) http://uncyclopedia.org/wiki/Murphy%27s_law_application_for_antigravitatory_cats

    lol

2.) Maybe you know this "safety video" about the first day at work for a young driver...you can ignore the speaker, he is talking nonsense anyway, just telling ppl to watch saftey standards, just watch what happens to poor Klaus...

    http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-6445158765233495122

But beware, it is really gross!

3.) A tv commercial about what can happen when metal band runs out of food...with Jorn Lande of Masterplan, and no, he is not the guy in the red tights.
