    Our own music
I noticed a few people here have put up their own music, so thought I might as well start a topic for it... If you're a musician, show off your skills here - have you any tracks available for download?

As for myself, I have no metal-related instrument skills but I do attempt to write music in the same style as my favourite bands... I use the MOD format, which is very often used for more dance-style music but I've tried to create melodic hard rock using it. This means that I should warn you that what I write does have a slightly computery and unnatural sound (sounds a bit like an old Genesis game or something).

My page on ModArchive is here: www.modarchive.com/artists/wong_chung_bang/

I'm particularly proud of "Albion", if I do say so myself =) Lyrics are included in the "file info" section of the file, which can be played in WinAmp.

WOW!! 11 minutes of melody... I love the verse and how the keys at the back do the synths. "Albion" has a lot of feeling, and for me, it felt like travelling through the vastness of space, not knowing what the future held Curious, bit afraid but going on! :D Oh, and I couldn't find the lyrics.
Your song's is great on melody! Say, is there a way to transfer these into a tab for guitars or notations for keys??
I don't know how to play the keyboard, but someone must... It's really a great song! I'll download more! :D

You're absolutely right about the "vastness of space" - have a look at the lyrics! I've put them up here if you can't find them in the file.

If you're interested in getting guitar tab/keys for the song I'll have a go at transcribing it.

Thanks for the comment! Hope you enjoy the rest as much as you did this one...

(Oh, any chance of sending me that "When The Machine Stops" MP3?)

wow, the lyrics are really powerful, i like this part: (very Savior-like)

Quote: The planet below awaits us
    We're on a new frontier
To be the first to see this world
    We're the pioneers
From here I see the planet rise
    Our journey has begun
Taken down on to the land
    Beneath an alien sun

The story of Alter Our Fate is similar, there a group of people flee earth because they don't like what's happening and find that their new life have started, and they realize their 'fate' was always in their hands :D

Ah, yes - I thought you had clever lyrics to that one =)

To find lyrics in .it files, right-click on them in WinAmp and go to File Info, then the "Comments" tab.

Very nice work, Eli! I'm listening to "The Wasteland" at the moment and I'm very impressed - atmospheric intro followed by some great guitar harmonies. The whole thing sounds very professional.

Have you got a record deal yet? Sounds like you deserve one.

Eli, I couldn't download Terror's Head completely, it stops. I heard the first minute and it's great!! Where did you record? Who engineered it? This is great! Melodic, powerful! I'll keep on trying to download the entire song, but it's stops midway through.

Hey, I listened to Atlantis, it's good, i like the guitar riffs alot! Nepal Power Metal.
We recorded here in Boston using all computer software... I dont know much about that stuff heh heh. The guitars were recorded direct into the soundcard with a SansAmp, not the best tone ive had, but it worked for the CD. The engineer/producer was Jack Fenstermaker, the other guitarist in the band works with him and knew he had the studio setup....it was his first project working with a band other than recording his own songs, but as you can see it came out really well, so i think he's got something going for him.

Germany certainly does seem to have a lot better "taste" in music than the US, especially when power metal/melodic hard rock is concerned. Japan is also good for it, though I'm unsure why - bands like Crush 40 seem to be trying to emulate the German rock style.

@Eli: Thanks, yay! Rising Nepal (lol that's a name of a newspaper here  I'd say Jack did a great job. As Wong said, this is really sounds professional. Sounds great, really, maybe www.limb.de would be a good label :P

@Wong: Germany, definately. I'd love to go there someday  I'm as surprised as you are on why powermetal sells in Japan

Germany's a nice place - I've been in Munich staying with family during many summers.

As for the Japanese, it started with Kai Hansen's material as far as I know. Maybe they just have good taste in music! =)
