Sometimes i search in the internet for english-lessons and tests - just for fun. I like them and you will be remembered of something you have forgotten or to learn something new.
Here is a Test i´ve found today... would you like to test the test?
With the Olympic Winter Games taking place in Turin from 10 to 26 February, it was time to expand our sports vocabulary. And because the Winter Olympics are big business, we were looking at words that can be used to describe both sport and business. It's not just individual words, however. You can really improve your vocabulary by learning a complete word family. Here's an example:
Verb: compete
Noun person: competitor
Noun concept: competition
Example: "World-class male and female skiers, like Bode Miller, Hermann Maier, Michaela Dorfmeister and Lindsey Kildow will compete in the Winter Olympics." (ger: teilnehmen)
Can you complete the following? They've given you one member of the family; you have to type in the missing members. Note: in this exercise, do not use "-ing" forms for the nouns (for example, "skiing").
1 ) Verb: sponsor
Noun person: ?
Noun concept: ?
2) Noun person: financier
Verb: ?
Noun concept: ?
3) Verb: credit
Noun person: ?
Noun concept: ?
4) Verb: qualify
Noun person: ?
Noun concept: ?
5) Verb: challenge
Noun person: ?
Noun concept: ?
Just try it, if you like...

Quite a useful approach to learning new vocabulary. I didn't even know the word "financier" before... Sounds like something a regular person wouldn't commonly say.

Depends on the context. I'd go for 'originate', but you can always check dict.leo.org for a translation, or search google for another German / English dictionary.
