Hi All,
this tank was shown in an Alpine valley, belonging once to a crashed American plane. Which plane model had such tanks, are they specific for a model. Tank has no colored surface.

Roland,
this is a oxygen pressure bottle. Used on B-17 and B-24 bomber.
The color was original in yellow:

As Nils has said, these are used on the B17 and B24. theres no way of telling which one this is from.

@roland ... wo genau hast du den tank gefunden bzw woher hast du ihn? direkt aus lienz? wenn du mir sagen kannst von welchem raum er stammt kann dir eventuell zum abgeschossenen flieger infos liefern !?

many thanks for the information on and confirmation of my oxygen tank, including the 2 interesting drafts. Yellow painting evidently vanished within the years.
Hi WNF, Pathfinder,
the crash location is south west of Brenner, Southtyrol.
The day should be 4th June 1945, not confirmed, but all crew survived,
regretably no more info on serial nr, nickname, pilot and crew, no foto, nothing but witness report..........See AAForum, general threads.
I´d be glad if you have a solution for this incident.
