    Well, how can you translate "Ämterwahl" shortly? It's so long-winded to always write "the voting/election for the captain and the chief mate"

    For " für ein Amt kandidieren", leo.org sais: to run for office. So I guess the translation "office" for "Amt" should be fine.

    So maybe it's "election/vote for offices" or something like that...

    Yeah, I would say that too, Mizuki. Or you could only write "votings" for shortly, it's somehow clear that everyone is talking about the offices today.
