Kennt einer die 70er Slow Rock Band Bread?
Einen Song habe ich bisher angehört und der ist mal wieder "strange" aber sehr gut! Das Lied hieß "Aubrey".
Aber da gibts noch viel mehr...

Bread was a 1970s rock and roll band from Los Angeles, California. They are a primary example of what later was labeled as "soft rock".
David Gates (keyboard, vocals) and Jimmy Griffin (guitar, vocals) formed the group in 1968, adding Robb Royer (guitar, vocals, of Pleasure Faire) before signing to Elektra Records. Bread, the band's debut album, was a failure. Their second album established Bread as a major act, hitting the mainstream with "Make It With You". Hiring Mike Botts (drums), Bread began touring and recording Manna, which included their most enduring hit, "If".
When Royer left the group, he was replaced by Larry Knechtel in time for a series of hit singles and a hit album called Baby I'm-A Want You, followed by Guitar Man. Personal disputes between Gates and Griffin soon broke up the band. Griffin felt that the singles should have been split between the two, however Gates had written most of the songs. Gates and Griffin then began solo careers. After a successful reunion in 1976, Bread released the album Lost Without Your Love in 1977. The title track was the band's last top-ten hit, and it peaked at number 9. Tensions between Gates and Griffin soon drove the band apart again, this time permanently.

Mir eigentlich egal, welche "Abteilung" das ist.
Der Song ist sehr gut und hat einen niveauvollen sehr sehr ungewöhnlichen Text. Nicht immer einen auf "Love" and "Peace" und sonstigen sich immer wiederholenden Nonsense.
Aber eines der wohl bekanntesten Songs ist "The Guitarman" und das ist echt ein bisschen zu "mainstream". So Standart-mäßige Melodie. Aber die Gewissheit, dass es aus dem 70ern ist lässt das ganze wieder besser rüberkommen.

Sagt mir auch nichts,aber in denn 70ern gabs eh nur Abba,Kiss,The Teens,Racy,Smokie,The Sweet,Status Quo,Suzi Quatro,The Buggels,Lips inc,ok,Pink Floyd fällt mir noch so ein und die üblichen (Eurovisionsgewinner Bucks Fizz,Jonny Logan),Visage,Bee Gees und noch einige andere für mich..fällt mir da noch was ein?Joan Jett?oder war die erst in denn 80ern?...

Bei dem Lied würde ich sogar so weit gehen zu sagen, dass es immer besser wird, je öfter ich es höre.
Es gibt so viele Arten von Songs. Nicht auf Musikrichtungen bezogen.
Die einen sind so billig und schlecht, textlich und musikalisch total einfach und 3 Akkorde-mäßiger Pop.
Dann gibt es die komplizierteren (Stairway To Heaven z.B.) und diese sind aber trotzdem eingängig.
Aber noch anders sind die Lieder, die überhaupt nicht eingängig sind und ohne Geduld und mehrmaliges Hören, wird man sie nie gut finden.
Dieses "Aubrey" gehört für mich dazu. Man hört und lebt irgendwann für jeden Ton und jedes einzelne Element, was Stimmung und Ausstrahlung angeht. Und nicht nur für die Melodie.
Diese Prozedur trifft besonders auf echten Gospel zu.

Und mein Kommentar von oben war natürlich nicht ernst gemeint...ich hoffe, der Joke ist verstanden worden.
Wo wir gerade bei "Neuentdeckungen" sind...höre dir mal das Album 'Forever Changes' von 'Love' an ...und sag mal deine Meinung dazu...
