Hi,
A few years ago I received a tyre.
I have been told that it belongs to a crashed U.S. airplane.
Can anyone help me identify the airplane this tyre belongs to?
The tyre has got the following markings:
953C11 174 KNOTS
26 x 6.6
14 PLY RATING NYLONG
TYPE VII
US
Royal Airplane

the tail wheel of B-17´s have 26 inch diameter :scratch:

perhaps this could be from a jet?. a speed rating of 174 knots is 200mph, or over 320kph.
this is way above the landing/take off speed of any ww2 propellor aircraft
