    The first Part from the B17F S/N: 42-29856 "Patches&
    Hi everybody :)

Today i get a bigger aircraftpart from a friend.
He was walking in the woods and he bring me this part because he knows my hobby!
I take a look in my Crashlist and i found the right plane to this part!!!
So in the next time he will show me the location ( i don´t want to post the name) where he found this part!, i think there is much much more to find with my detector ;)

In this area is just one crash and here it is:

It was a B17F with the Serialnumber 42-29856 from the "486.Bombergroup / 815 Squadron" MACR: 4846 , Name of the Aircraft was "Patches", Pilot: 2Lt. Raymond Scranton, KIA 2, POW 8, Hit by German Flak on 5/10/1944

I think the Plane was Attacking the "WNF" Aircraftfactory in Wiener Neustadt (Lower Austria)

If anyone knows something about the Inspection stamp "HT-272" or can give me more Information about this plane, so please let me know!
    :n57:

    Hi MIG-MAN

I found "HT" - stamps on B-17 crash sites. In my database I have stamps with an "HT" also on Lockheed,- and North American parts.

I´m sure you have here a US aircraft part in your hands ;)

    Regards
    Nils

    Guys,

In my opinion HT stands for 'Heat Treatment'....
