    Important voting - changes on some quests and more
    Dear guildmates,

    I will quote a post here from the guildleader-forum:

    As some of you may know, iRO got this about a month ago:

    Hopefully that title gets the attention we hope for. Earlier in the year I said something to the effect of "For those of you who stick around this year it should be a fun ride", the main thought in mind when that was said was this piece of news which we have tried to attain for several years now.

    One constant challenge for all ROs is that of unique game updates for their version. The development of RO was designed to be consistent across all versions even when that plan doesn't allow for the growth of those individual versions could otherwise attain. One avenue we persued was making nice events that could try to bridge what our community said was lackingin RO, but that is a short term fix at any rate.

    We have worked hard in the past to try and make changes just to iRO, changes that fit our community better than the "base" game does. Sometimes we were able to succeed after many months/years of working with the development to make a change to ALL of RO. This was less than ideal as it forced some simple changes to take forever to implement, this has caused much frustration in the past for everyone.

    Well that time is over!

    Starting this past month or so we have been working with the development to get total localization control. This means that while we will get content updates from kRO that amount to our major updates, we will also be able to add and change the content as we require.

    I've bolded the last paragraph for emphasis.
    For the laziest for us, basically, this was about giving more power to iRO to make its own changes. Untill then, iRO had to wait for kRO patches and couldn't change anything by itself. They could address suggestions to kRO (like we also do) but not only it's something that was taking a lot of time but also had little chance to be accomplished (since every change would have been global). iRO future looks brighter now they are able to modify some things by their own, and they already started. Let me give you a few examples:

    May 27, 2008
    * Seal quests updated
    o Broadcasts on seal statuses should be more clear now
    o Seal quest rewards updated
    1. 1st Seal, Made novices of appropriate level to complete the Mad Scientist arc.
    2. 1st Seal, updated item rewards at end to over all be more worthwhile
    3. 2nd Seal, changed exp reward to be the same for all levels of players, and set to the prior "high" level reward.
    4. 3rd Seal, added and exp reward to the quest.
    5. 3rd Seal, changed the card reward to instead give an Old Card Album.
    * Removed zeny sellable items from the Novice Training grounds. We intend on reimplementing with 0 zeny worth items as soon as possible.
    * Thanatos Tower changes
    o Expanded classes of level 95+ can advance past level 6 of the tower the same as Transcendent classes
    o Thanatos boss room has been set back to not send to save point when relogging or disconnecting
    o Updated the summoning procedure to avoid the prior exploit with re-summoning Thanatos freely.
    o Updated the quest to avoid Thanatos alive but no one able to go up to fight him scenario.

    May 13, 2008
    * Updated WoE SE barricades to avoid being able to recall through them
    * Updated Broken Flag for Rachel 2 castle.
    * Updated Training grounds to be more welcoming to new players. Players must now type their name in in order to access the TG past the first NPC.

    May 6, 2008
    * Fixed dialogue with Veins siblings quest to correctly show how many more successes are needed at the Camel.
    * Several WoE SE castle announcements and guardian placement problems are corrected.
    * Further hardware optimizations to better gameplay.
    * Updated Kiel Hyre quest, to give group credit for Killing the Kiel in the mansion dungeon.

    April 29, 2008
    * Veins Siblings quest updated to require less attempts on the Camel.

    As you can see, some of these changes look really interesting (more attractive seal quests, SE bug fixes, TT opened to expanded classes, better training grounds, possibility to make the Kiel quest as a group etc.)

    My question is simple:
    Is there any chance euRO gets this freedom of moves?
    That is, I believe, what would make these forums way more important then what they are now, since at the moment, basically every of our suggestions can be answered by "we'll send a mail about this to kRO HQ and wait for their answer", which is a bit frustrating. That would give to our community more than the illusion of free will we have at the moment when I read these forums.

    René from BIC answered:

    Hi,

    first of all it was a nice announce they made, after they had this opportunity since a while.

    Some of these changes, i agree, sounds nice. If you can agree on a list of 5 most wanted, i can check if it's possible to get them.

    Like i said, all of you came down to a top 5 list we ask. I would set a deadline till next week thursday.

    Just post what you think which 5 we should bring also to euRO.

    So you get the chance here to leave your vote for 5 of the changes listed above. Please let me know soon so I can post it in guildleaderforum before thursday next week.

    hmm, think these I'd like most:

    * Seal quests updated

    * Thanatos Tower changes

    out:* Further hardware optimizations to better gameplay.

    * Updated Kiel Hyre quest, to give group credit for Killing the Kiel in the mansion dungeon.

    * Veins Siblings quest updated to require less attempts on the Camel.

    in: *Updated Training grounds to be more welcoming to new players. Players must now type their name in in order to access the TG past the first NPC.

    So these are our choices for Gravity

    They all look good to me - I go with Sigi's suggestions. Not penalising people for DC is very nice as much as possible... Getting sent back to save when you have a DC is a real pain, and if it happens on Thanatos, chance it can also be improved elsewhere.

    2 other things...

    1) I think kRO has 600 item limit for Kafra, that would be really nice to have in euRO.

    2) Also be nice to have the last 2 char slots opened up.

    I agree with Sigi's suggestions.

    1. Thanatos Tower changes

    2. Updated Kiel Hyre quest, to give group credit for Killing the Kiel in the mansion dungeon.

    3. Veins Siblings quest updated to require less attempts on the Camel.

    4. Updated Training grounds to be more welcoming to new players. Players must now type their name in in order to access the TG past the first NPC.

    5. Seal quests updated

    There are 2 questions I asked answered:

    Meanwhile two questions:
    1. About the 2 points regarding trainingsground: does it avoid the bots and abuses there?
    2. About further hardware optimizations to better gameplay: is that something that would work for euRO or do they have different hardware?

    René answered:
    1. To be honest, no. Because it's already implemented on other RO Version there is already a solution for it.

    2. iRO use different hardware. We already have more as the required hardware specs of gravity.

    So please edit your post if you choosed one of these

    ! Here is not the place to put new wishes, just choose from the ones in the first post.

    But I will create another Thread in panguildism where we can gather all these other ideas. I will post that in guild leader forum or write to new-features then.
