MagicAxe - 14.06.2008, 14:28Scott gegen Bots! (Kein Announcement, sondern Forenthread)
Zitat:Unfortunately I will not be coming in this weekend to work on more scamming issues due to other arrangements made beforehand.
I do have a project that I would like started to check and see if this is true and does in fact work.
I want this test to be taken not so seriously (Results that will be posted will not be a definite yes or no just yet. It will be posted if they failed / passed the new scan in testing.)
Bascially I will be testing the new tool that I have to see if by logs alone it can tell if someone is using a 3rd party program or not. It searches for certain criteria which is humanly impossible but not impossible for a 3rd party program which turns itself on or created after xtrap is running.
It goes off the bypass or "XTRAP fooler" that these programs run on. And it scans for certain patterns which are impossible for a human to do. No not x and y coordinates. Must more complex than that. I cannot say because I know that the bot makers read our forums. Its been proven because whatever flaw our players find or I find that I post gets immediatly fixed in like a weeks time or less.
And from what a few of my loyal players whom are part of these communites state they post what I post on their forums. Even copy and paste every announcement we make. Kind of freaky if you ask me.
Anyway! TO business!
I know that ill probably be bombarded in this thread with like 1000 bot names, but heres the catch. I want 1 person I dont care whom to keep an updated list over the weekend of what everyone posts. (No benifits or free items for doing so sorry you know how I roll.) And make it into a nice long list of suspected botter names.
I am going to put the max names at 100. I dont want more than 100 suspected bot names on it.
These are not the bots that you screenshotted with their weapon not out and such those are just insta bans. Send in that 1:1 inquiry after screenshot verified they go bye bye.
Anyway when I get back on monday after I do my ncash issues and clear that inbox, Im going to run a scan on all those accounts in question. I will take that list that is made and reply if they passed or failed the test.
This doesnt nessisarily mean they are using a 3rd party program. It just states what the new tool reports.
I will then send the list of them that are online during this time to myself and dream. We will begin testing manually each of them to verify if they are using a 3rd party program or not.
And the reason I say 3rd party program is because the newest thing that we have been preparing for that we were informed of was the autopot. Its detectable now by us. I will be scanning for that as well. So you can even add people to the list you suspect of auto potting.
Yes im sorry its only 100 long for now because I consider it a control test.
This tool must be 100% effective or I cannot use it. However if it passes this 100 testing I will do a bigger test of 1000.
More than likely it will be one of my mods that keeps the active tally of 100. They will also be throwing in a few whammys to make sure there are no false positives.
However all the rest of the players just put in the players you really do suspect botting. The mods will do the whammys add last thing I need is everyone putting in like 100 real accounts. Razz
Anyway here is the format that you will put your post in if you wish to participate:
Characters Name (Exact spelling yes the uppercase i's and lower case L's are going to be a pain but I need exact spellings.)
Date you suspect them of botting. Exact date please, not estimated. If I do more than a days scanning it will take forever and I cant do this scan all in the same day.
Thats it.
Exact character name and date.
Ooh and it has to be within the past 3 months. My tool only knows 3 months logs. Or id have to use Dreams turtle tool that has the past years.
Again thank you all for your time reading this and those whom participate in this thanks a lot. Hopefully this will make the GM's jobs 100x easier when it comes to bots and allows players to report whomever they suspect.
**PS A player cannot post more than 5 susptect bot chars. I want more than just 1 person to participate.
And yes I will be posting the results. So bare that in mind.

... hoffentlich bringts diesmal was!
-> HIER <-
Hoffentlich wirds diesmal was!
