    Unknown Cylinder, possible mine
    Hi all,

today I received a lot of original photos from crash site of Stirling Bf338.
This aircraft was shot down down on the way to lay mines in the Cadet Channel.
The following photo show a long and large cylinder. I think it could be a mine :n169:

Could be part of a 65LB fotoflash air dropped bomb.

    Hi Nils,
below is a British MK 24 mine. it looks very diferent to your photo.
also the casing looks too thin to be a mine.
the photo of the flash posted by the guest looks more like your one

    Hi guys,

thanks for your help, I think 65lbs are too small for the part on my photo.
But on the diagramm you can see the position of the parachute - on the photo maybe too !?

    Regards
    Nils
