    Mail to Potemkin
i found my myspace login and wrote a mail to Potemkin, i hope we get an answer soon. i wrote almoste the same mail to Kingsize (not the part whit alex release ultra commercial ripp offs  ) but i never got any answer.

How are things whit you guy´s? No release in 2007 how does it look 4 2008?

we the last fans of U96 (i wrote U97 in mail to Potemkin  ) have a question 4 u guy´s in 1997 we all got a letter from manu where he included a articel from a german magazin where they disscused the fortcoming album "rythem of life". the articel said stuff about the album contained 13 tracks, we have conted the tracks we think is from that album :

    Seven wonders
    calling the angels
    electric love
    Live At Electrogorsk
    rhytem of life
    lost paradise
    Dont whant to loose you.

thats 7 tracks. is there any chance of us ever hearing the other 6 tracks? ;)

sometime in 1996 or 97 u guy´s releast Love generation as a singel (according to some pages) but only in scandinavia? i´m from scandinavia and i never saw the release, how diffrent is the singel verion from the album version and is there any cool mixes? and again is there any chance we ever will here it? ;)

There is also rumors about a finnished electro album, same question as above, will we ever? :)

Alex will never answer these questions, he is to busy releasing ultra commercial ripp offs.

I hope u guy´s are doing great and we here more from u in 2008 than 2007.

    Cheers// Lie

like i told u before i send a mail to Potemkin about all the stuff we miss ere is the answer:

    Dear Lie,
thanks for your mail. These are all the tracks that you mentioned. There
was an album planned at that time, but it never happened due to problems with the records company and within the project. As you know we split up as a team in early 1998. As Alex still releases music under the name U96, which is nothing like it was, we decided to form a new project under the name Potemkin featuring more or less the same team as U96 was consisting of: Ingo Hauss and me + some of the original female singers. Ingo was always singing most of the U96 tracks like
    Love sees no colour etc.
Love Generation was planned as a single but was never released anywhere. There is just the album version.

i was thinking the same, but i guess he wrote wrong. or maby the broke up in 98 got to gether 99 for the best of and broke up again and was brought to gether for the kinski remix broke up again and tried a last time in 2004. i mean if they still worked together 99 - 2004 i tink 2 releases and 1 remix is really poor working.

I think the problems started in 1998 but he try to work together but in 2003 was the last drop in the glass.

BTW, he did not answer your question regarding electro-album. But if they split early 1998, it could mean, there was not an electro-album. Motor Music refused to release Rhythm Of Life, then they released In Your Mind Vinyl late 1997 and for some reason they also did not release it on CD, just included it as a b-side on Energie. In Your Mind is clearly not Rhythm Of Life style as opposite to Don`t wanna lose you as a b-side on beweg Dich Baby - it was probably intermediate stage between Rhythm of Life style and Electro one. So, they got together later and were back in May 1998 with Electro, but I suppose, they did it just as experiment and if succesfull, then they could work on an electro-album. But we know, it was not a big success and a second single was a complete fail (no top 100 entry). Then there was a best of and i`m curious if they got a finished album in 2003. If so, I guess 3 tracks from it are on OOW. Hayo did not say about the rest of the Rhythm Of Life songs as well. To sum it up, there are about 7-8 unknown songs from ROF, probably no electro-album at all and a story with the 2003 album is a complete mystery. Would be great to get answers to all these questions. I guess, we could get the answers rather from Hayo or Ingo, than from Alex. BTW, Helmut is occupied with some euro-trance stuff nowadays, so now he is closer to Alex according to the style - he did a remix for Alex C as a Sheyenne/Matiz. Today is popular to release old unreleased material as digital only (Brooklyn Bounce did it recently with System Shock for example or RMB with Evolution) - why could it not happen with Rhythm Of Life and with the other albums if they exist of course. That would be great.
What do you guys think about this issue. Share your thoughts, make this forum alive for one hour at least))

Is anybody here? :? No thoughts and no opinions at all? BTW, I asked Hayo several questions, but got no answer yet. Hopefully he will reply, because I am very curious about this subject with the unreleased album/albums.

Wow, I got e-mail from Hayo. I asked him plenty of questions and he answered them all!

    1. I asked him about the rest of the Rhythm Of life album and about the possibility of the digital release today and he said, that all the tracks from it were released and there are no other left.
    2. The second questions was about the splitting of the team in 1998 and the unfinished electro-album. He answered, they tried to return first of all with We call it love, but as the lable did nothing for U96, they could not.
So, I suppose, maybe they did Energie und Beweg dich Baby before they split up in 1998 and except these singles there were no other tracks - so it seems there was no electro-album.
    3. The question about We call it love and the 2003-album. His answer was - they did only we call it love and no other tracks, because lable did not work well even with the single.
    4. The next question concerning out of wilhelmsburg and 3 tracks from Ingo, Helmut and him. He wrote, as they gave the rights for U96 to Alex, they agreed, that everyone will write one song for the album.
    5. The question regarding In your mind-single and why was it not released on CD, but he no longer remembers of it.
    6. The final question about U96 in the mix - http://www.discogs.com/U96-In-The-Mix/release/501689. The answer - the release was planned, but it also did not come to it.

So, thanks to Hayo, everything is quite clear now and wenn Manu said 1998 about an unreleased album, he probably still said about Rhythm Of Life :)
