As far as I know, Mick is not Jewish. He's half Irish & half English :)

I think that's one of these never-ending myths that once appeared in these trashy gossip magazines.
Even if you'd ask Mick directly you won't get an answer. He would just say that it's not our business and that's absolutely right. He already shares a lot of his spiritual thoughts within his music, the rest is private.
Wikipedia is a very cool knowledge base, it's free and everyone can work on it. I think that makes it a huge success but the "dark" side of it is that there's a lot of stuff which isn't confirmed or exact.
Paper doesn't blush (neither the internet) :wink:

I heard she's Irish & that's where Mick gets his Irish half from - at least that's what it said in both bios written about him. Maybe she's half & half.

you are right, I heard that too, Micks mother is Irish.
In a few jewish magazines/newspapers they said
"...Simply Reds Leadsinger Mick Hucknall has a jewish mother..." And Mick was talking about his jewish mother himself in an interview in the 90s.
Dont think that is a story they made up.
I think the same Gina, maybe she is both.
And at least, who cares.
We all love him for his fantastic voice and the music he gave to us.
And maybe, sometimes a little bit for his wonderful smile and blue eyes :-D .

If Mick's mother is Jewish (and his father isn't), technically, he isn't...the line is considered to pass through the female side. Mick's half-sister would be considered Jewish in this case, but he wouldn't.
Just a lil' something I learned in my World Religions undergraduate course. :wink:
Of course, what he practices (or doesn't) is his business. You can still practice Judaism without claiming the ancestry, as far as I know.

True. But, I DO have a print interview where Mick is asked if he has any religious beliefs & he said he believes in the Holy Spirit. Last time I checked, that was a Christian belief - LOL! :D
