Die Horror-Serie Alone in the Dark geht in eine neue Runde. Entwickler Eden Games kündigte voller Stolz den fünten Teil der Serie an. Der fünte Teil des Action-Adventures trägt den Namen Alone in the Dark: Near Death Investigation und erscheint laut neusten Informationen sowohl für den PC als auch für die Xbox 360.
Ihr schlüpft in die Rolle von Edward Carnby und erforscht die Geschehnisse rund um den Central Park in New York. Das Spiel soll vor allem durch Echtzeit-Licht- und -Schatten-Effekten ein besonderes Horror-Flair auf den Bildschirm zaubern, auch Kamera-Tricks werden für Gänsehaut sorgen. Als Releasetermin ist 2006 angepeilt.
