Had an accident yesterday!
They were calling for freezing rain yesterday and when I left my doctor´s office to go to my car it was already raining and started to freeze on my car´s windscreen. I had another appointment only 15 min later and decided to drive home first and then walk. It was no problem to get where I needed to go and we had lots of fun with me trying to take off my frozen scarf :lol: - well this appointment took me like 1,5 hour and it was raining all the time ... when I was ready to go home again it was all just one sheet of ice - besides the main roads. I had to go down a little hill and walked on the grass beside the way - checked on the road and it looked ok, but when I stepped on it, I slipped. It was the classic way: my feet were up in the air and it must have looked like I was flying for a moment - lol - then I fell down on the ground and slid down the hill ... I´m sure it looked funny, but it hurted real bad ... I had no joice! Crawling like a little baby I tried to reach the main road to walk home. On my way back I didn´t feel any pain, cause it was so damn cold outside and I finally made it back home (only walking on the road !!!) My leg felt ok and didn´t bother me, so I decided to still do some sports ...
Well, I thought that I was just lucky and didn´t hurt myself too bad, but when I went to bed my leg started to hurt real bad, whenever I moved and touched it. It bothered me all night and I couldn´t even sleep and walk. It´s somewhat better now, but I´m sure it´s a bruise and it will turn blue and green in a few ... it´s not swollen, but I feel that it´s not ok inside - I can feel the pressure. It´s right under my knee. My arm and shoulder are bothering me as well, cause I fell on those too ...
This was a lesson to me !!! I will never walk outside when they call for freezing rain !!! NEVER !!!
It´s still kind of frozen today and so we are all staying home!!! LOL
I took the Christmas decoration off the tree and now everything is back to normal in my living room again - it took me some time cause of my leg, but I made it. Now I´m done for today. It´s only 4 pm, but because I´m kind of short of sleep I deserve a break ... and my leg does too.

What are you doing!!!! :shock: :shock: :shock: I'm glad you didn't break anything or even worse!
But to be honest, I had done the same. Being stupid and taking not the main road when there is freezing rain :roll:

Oh I hate to hear this. I do hope you will have your leg checked out if it does not improve. I learned my lesson walking on ice too a few years back. Also if your arm and shoulder don't get to feeling any better have them checked out as well. Try to stay off of it as much as possible and keep it evelated when relaxing....that may help.
I'm extremely glad that you didn't hurt yourself any worse or that a car was not coming when you slipped and went into the street.
Ice is something I don't deal with - if it's icey outside - I don't budge out the front door - for nothing.

Poor Anne!! You need to be put in bubble wrap so you quit getting hurt. :lol:
I hope you feel better soon. And I wanted to ask you since you are in Germany and all... do you use homeopatics? My family does and I know the concept originated in Germany- so I didn't know if you or anyone else on the board used them. Just wondering.

my leg is somewhat better, but my arm hurts real bad ... the muscles are totally sore and I can hardly move it. It will take me one more day, but because it´s my right arm it will be hard not to use it ... :wink:
I can´t even drive, because I don´t trust my arm and so I just told my son that he needs to go to the stores for me ... he is in a bad mood now :wink:
@ mouseears: yes, I´m familiar with homeopatics and I use them a lot - especially for the kids. I need to get me some Arnica for me and the kids cause it provides bruises very well. I always try to use homeopatics before I use some chemical medication ... it´s pretty popular in Germany and lots of our doctors favor them now. I remember when I was in the States and started coughing a bit I asked Nadja where to get some homeopatics and she said that there are only a few special stores where you can get it and that they are expensive.

Did anybody watch the (german) news days ago? There was freezing rain in Berlin and the firefighters and ambulances had to march out for about 600 times :shock: Glad I was ill and lying in my bed.

I hate to here that - it's raining here and turning colder. Gisela and her husband left for Germany this am - Frankfort. Her father passes away and she had to go home so her husband when went her. I hope they don't run into any problems because it's a 2.5 hour drive from Frankfort to where her dad lives. Oh she is familiar with Tier.
Glad you are feeling better Anne.
Things have finally slowed down here at work, and I'm glad I'm off tonight.

I hurt myself today. We had training on our wooden horse and I tried some new parts with a new girl (by the way I am one of those who has to be on the others! ME!!!! :shock: :shock: ). I didn't really work, because her hand was hurt and so I had to do everything alone and so I lost my balance. I was so afraid I might drop her that I leaned backwarts and my leg hit the edge of our wooden horse. It's no blue and green, even violet, and swollen. But I can walk :wink: Only running hurts. But the part where I have to be on another girl worked. I will try to make some pictures, because everyone says it looked cool and I haven't seen it myself yet.

Anne glad you are doing better.
I've been back on my diet and getting there has not been easy. I was off today and spent most of it cleaning and in the bathroom. I'm detoxfying my body....needless to say it will be a long time before I do this again.
