I haven´t been here for such a long time for some serious private reasons. I won´t be able to read all the posts I missed to catch up with what was going on. Would anybody mind to post a short update :oops: ? I will try to be here more often (whenever my computer allows me to - lol) and get back in contact with you all. The board has been quiet ... so let´s get it busy again !!!
How is everybody doing?
I´m looking forward to 2008 as 2007 wasn´t a good year for me at all !!! 2008 can´t get worse !!! Those members who have children on their own do know that one always have to worry and take care of things when you have kids ... and that´s my main job right now. My girls had kind of breakdown and just started to realize that we won´t be a family no more (after 2 years !!!! It took them a long time - 2 years of hope - that´s what I´ve been told now) and so it´s up to me to show them that there is more in life then a "happy family" and that they still do have a mom and a dad although we are not living together in one house anymore! My ex doesn´t really see the problem, but he´s willing to come with me and the girls to see our family consultant to make the girls happy again. But it´s a loooooong road we will have to walk and I will make it happen to show the girls that they are save !!! That´s what they need right now. The consultant told me to take one year off (no new job and no trip to the States or anything like that)! That´s how long it will take to make the kids feel good again. The consultant told me that they will even help me with money if needed - means they will tell me what kind of financial support I can apply for.
So I will spend lots of time with my girls and try to be a perfect mom! That will also give me some extra time to work on progresses for NewNativeSpirit again ... and it will hopefully help me to forget about all the stress and troubles I had in 2007 !!! It will give me some time to see my doctor and get over these damn panic attacks, which our consultant says are also caused by all the worries I had. So I hope that this time with my girls will not only help them but also make me feel better!
The job agency wanted me to start with school in February to get an additional education to find a new job more easy ... it´s a great chance to become another qualification, but I have to set priorities and asked them to do it later. They denied for now, but my doctor wants to help with this and write a certification to their office telling them that I´m just not able to do it that early. This school will be for like 5 months and I will have to go there every day from 9 to 12 (that´s not too bad, but it takes me like 30 min to get there and another 30 min to get back home) - plus I will have to study a lot to get the qualification after 5 months! My doctor and I want to try to push it back for like another half a year and then see how I and the kids are doing ...
January will be a crazy month for me! I have a few doctor´s appointments with the girls and we will have to see the consultant again. I will also have to turn in all my paperwork to get my unemployment money and I will have to apply for some social support ... so January will be very short - not much time to relax.
Me and the girls had a wonderful Christmas !!! I´m so proud of myself that I made it happen. I was kind of afraid of it, cause Milena was sooooo sad and wanted a peaceful Christmas so bad. The consultant told me not to invite my ex and spend time together - that would be like lying to the girls. They need to see it for a fact - especially on days like this. So I planned on being alone with the girls on Christmas Eve, but then decided to invite my parents (who are living upstairs in the house I´m living) for dinner. My dad is a "Christmas destroyer" so I really didn´t want to spend time with him, but then thought it would be good for Milena to have other family members around. It was a nice evening and the girls even created kind of a performance. Emma was dancing and Milena did kind of a speech telling us how grateful she is for the things she has and that she really enjoyed being with her grandparents. She ended with saying: "but most of all I want to thank my mom! She really is the best !!! She had this great idea of inviting grandma and grandpa and made this Christmas very special to me!" Then she hugged everybody and I was fighting my tears! Yesterday I asked her if she is happy and she smiled at me and said "YES!" - for me this was the first step and I know that everything will work out the best way !!!!
This was a short update on what is going on back here and why I wasn´t online that much. Just give me some time to get back to my usual "online-shape" LOL

I really wish that 2008 will be a better year for you, Anne. And you're right, it can't get worse!
My 2007 was ok. I had happy moments and sad/depressing moments (allthough there were more depressing moments...) and I had a lot of stress, because my final school year started and it's only about 60 days till my Abitur. I have to learn a lot and the last days before christmas holidays were very stressful and I thought it would be better in the holidays, but somehow I haven't find much time to relax and for training somehow.
An event that made me very happy this year was the finishing of my first book. Only a few corrections and I can send a summary to a publisher. But before that I will use my book as my project for art in school (we have to do a project and at first I wanted to build a house, but then I decided to print my own book). Somehow it feels weird to look at my almost finished book. It's some kind of good-bye and it makes me sad and happy at the same time. But it's the first step to being an author and that's what I want to be :wink: I will use this holidays to finish everything with my book and to give it to some people for reading. it's not the best book so I know if it should be published it definitaly wont be a bestseller.
Besides being an author I still don't know what to do when I finished school. So if you have any ideas for me... :wink:
So for me 2007 was ok. Not too bad, but not gooe either. I'm courious what 2008 will bring and what I will be in one year.

Hey Anne,
So glad things are getting better for you. I'm glad Melina is doing well and Emma. Divorce is never easy and it's even harder on the kids - once the final realization that mom and dad are not going to be together anymore. But as long as children know that both parents love them it's good. You are a good mother and don't let anyone tell you different. Mothers are the strongest influence in their children's lives. I feel very confident that 2008 will be a big year for you and am so happy you are going to be able to go back to school. I have to take classes from time to time at U of L and it can help you advance and open up new doors.
I have missed you and the others on this board and now that everything is trying to get back to normal I plan on being more active. I did have to get a new cord for my laptop - seems that was the problem. My hours at JCP have cut back now and that is a wonderful feeling. I almost had a breakdown Christmas Eve from being just totally exhausted, but being off till the 7th will be a big help. Everyone is still in bed except me...but that is ok. Keri is staying on at JCP and it will be good for her. It was just me mom, Keri and my Aunt for Christmas day...then Keri went over to her other grandparents and celebrated Christmas. i didn't even get out of my pj's Christmas day. The weather here as been up and down. We had snow fluries the Sunday before Christmas but it was up on the 50's Christmas day and yesterday. It's rainy again here but no snow yet. sort of makes me sad because snow is always nice around the holidays.
Idril - I'm so happy you finished your first book. And as far as what you want to do after school - let me say - the world is opened to you - you can be whatever you want to be and do whatever you want to do. Since you like to write - becoming a writer might be good.
I'll be helping Keri get ready for college - can't believe she'll graduate highschool this May....seems like she was just starting school. We've got to get senior pictures done and graduation cards made up. She got her hair cut again and this time even shorter than before. She's not short hair since she was 6 years old...but then she is the one who has to wear it and take care of it.
I'm hoping and praying 2008 will be a better year for us all.

great hearing from you. It's great you want to spend more time with your children in this hard times. That's best you can do. i remember my mom just working during and after divorce and I didn't really understand what's going on. So I became little devil. But it's wonderful you girls are better now.

I myself am a bit stressed out though I have christmas holidays. I still have to work at Kaufland (the supermarket) and do a lot for university. I'm looking forward to my real holidays from mid February to end of March. I try to relax on sundays but always think about what I still got to do for uni and preparing my internship abroad. My main problem is what i got to do with my rabbit. My mother is afraid of him and don't want to grap him and put him into his cage. But somebody has to take care of him while I'm in York. I'd like my mother doing it because I don't want him being with somebody I don't know for about 3 months...
And I'm beginning to hate the work at Kaufland... I'm just not made for working in service and with people- They just annoy me. But i try to remind me why I do it, to have a good financial background while I'm in York...
And Anne: your new fotos on your myspace-page are gorgeous. I especially loe the one you are in the "charlie's Angels"-pose^^

I know what you mean about hating where you work. JCP was very trying on me and it's funny but last year it wasn't that bad - or didn't seem to be...but yet money is something one can't do without.
So you have a rabbit? They are cut critters and are much easier to work with than some.

yep - I think I got some kind of peoplephobia xD. No idea, but I don't like the idea of handling so many people in that short time... This is not my world... I'm looking for a job at my university - they always need students to assist them.
Yep, I got 2 rabbits, the Troll and McGyver. McGyver goes on his own into his cage when it's time, but the Troll just lays down onj the floor and waits til I grap him and put him into the cage... I still got some time to find something - but I'd like him to stay in my family..

To the upper north of us they are having snow - lucky.
Troll sounds really laid back - Snoopy is still asleep and so is Cheddar (my doggies) they got up early this am but decided not to go out because of the rain. When it's nice outside they both like to be out there.
As soon as I get my photos off my digital I'll post some of them.

studying biology, but what can I do after I finished it? Becomming a lawyer would be cool, too, just like studying medicine, but I'm not good enough for both. Becoming a teacher in elementary school is another thought, but there are so many people who tell me not to become a teacher... :? And I could work with handicaped people, but I don't know if I'm strong enough to work with them for a long time.

to become a teacher is a good thing to do! I can tell, cause there are good young teachers needed in our schools !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Get all the education you can get for this and become a great teacher !!! If I would have to decide again, I would think about something like that!

I know. I'm still thinking about it, but it's not easy to say: ok, I'll become a teacher! when so many people around you tell you not to become a teacher. My grandma was a teacher, so she likes the idea and so does my mum (she thinks I could handle children... but there is a difference between six to ten children in a vaulting group and 24 in a classroom...). My dad isn't too happy and so are many of my friends and other teachers I asked.

remember I told you about getting a cord for your camera? It makes it way more easy for you to upload pictures and save them on your computer! Think about it.

I also had no idea of what I wanted to do after school. Maybe you should go to the jobcenter and use one of their computers to browse through the different professions. That's what I did. They also tell you professions you didn't think about but are really similar to the ones you were informing about... like "verwandte Berufe"(related professions), you know what I mean?
