wow this was a crazy night!
It´s Fastnacht in Germany again (pretty early this year) and I went out with the "girls" last night. We went to an event where people have fun and sing and have fun and sing ... LOL ... well, it´s not really fun for me to go to events like this, but I thought it would be good for me to go out again. Although it was a Thursday night the place was crowded ... did we have fun? oh well, it always depends on the people you are with - lol - and we decided that next year we will go out for dinner and then to a bar instead of going to this event again *wink*.
We had some snow Wednesday night and they were calling for lots more for last night, but after it wasn´t snowing all day, I decided to drive. When we left the place to go to a bar it was snowing, snowing, snowing. You could hardly see the street anymore and so we were going very, very slowly and I was thinking about leaving the car on a parking area in town and walk home together with a friend. We had another drink at the bar and my son joined us too. It didn´t stop snowing and when we decided to go home it was already 3 in the morning. There were still a few men at the bar. Maybe some of you remember Jochen - he is the guy from the youth hostile. He was there too talking to a friend and this friend was quite interesting ... lol ... I´ve never seen him before. Well, just in the moment we were getting ready to leave, Jochen called me over and introduced me to his friend. I was like "Great, I´ve been here for like 2 hours now and now that we are leaving I get to meet an interesting man." Awwww ! I´m not going out that often, so how will I get to meet this guy again ... it´s in my horoscope for this month that I will meet a man that will make me happy. LOL So was that him?
Anyway, I would have loved to stay a bit longer but then I had to give my friend a ride back home and I was supposed to be at my doctor´s at 9 this morning (which they cancelled this morning and asked me to come in later). SNOW, SNOW, SNOW outside and I only had an idea of where the road is. I was just hoping that we will get home alright. I´m not such a good driver and we don´t have snow that often ... On our way to my friend´s place there were already trucks stucking in the snow and the police tried to help ... I was really thinking about leaving my car at my friend´s place and walking home, cause the way to my home is kind of hilly and the streets were slippery. I decided to only drive in the first and second gear and made my way home securely. Only a short time after I went to bed my son came home and told me that right after we left the police came to the bar with 8 policemen blocking the door and the restrooms ! They were looking for a guy who attacked a woman that night. They both have been to that bar and they were looking for witnesses. When the police entered the bar my son was on his way to the restroom and they were running after him ... they were holding him back and asked him why he suddenly needed to use the restroom - just the moment when he saw policemen coming. Well, nobody was able to help the police and after that the innkeeper decided to close the bar. Now I´m curious what happened that night and who got attacked, cause this is a small town and somehow we all know each other.
It´s still snowing and after getting only 4 hours of sleep I´m sitting here at the computer cause I was ready to go to my doctor´s appointment and got up at 8 !!!! Damn, if I would have known that they will ask me to come in later I could have slept in. Now I will be tired for the rest of the day. I tried to go back to sleep, but I already had my coffee and got dressed. The plan was to get some more sleep this p.m., but now that I will have to see my doctor at 3 pm this won´t happen. LOL I´ll make it somehow.
It was good to go out with the "girls" again and I was laughing again. Missed it so much! For a few hours I forgot about all the trouble and had some fun. Now I´m longing for more !!! LOL

I'm glad you had fun and made it home in one piece. You were so lucky to get snow - all we got was toronado's - we had 5 go through Louisville Tuesday night.....what a mess some areas had - the university was hit but my building suffered no damage but can't say that for some of the others. A few areas of Lousville look like war zones and some are still without power.

Glad you got to go out Anne!! You really sounded like you need it!! I know just how you feel sometimes. I went to a scrapbooking party (yes- pretty boring I know) on Friday night, and didn't get home until 11:30 at night! We had so much fun, us girls just laughing and having a great time without kids and spouses! :lol:

I really needed it. My sister asked me to go out with her on Saturday too, but we both were kind of bored ... it wasn´t such a good night. We even dared to walk home, although this woman got attacked Thursday night.
Well, the bad thing about it was, that my girls and my sister´s sons spent the night together at my mom´s and the boys and Emma got sick on Sunday night. They all had the same thing: bad body cramps and throwing up slime (only once) - I even had to see the doctor, cause Emma was crying so hard from all the pain she had and I wasn´t for sure if it could be her appendix. Because Emma is so small and skinny I always have to pay attention and make her drink at least. She and the boys are doing better now, but my sister and I are already stressed again. Sometimes I think that if I stay home something like that won´t happen ... :lol: ... the one night you have fun and can relax and the next day you have to pay for it.
We had a big parade going on yesterday and we couldn´t go there. We were supposed to take part with Kindergarten and Emma and Milena were both so disappointed that we couldn´t go. They were looking forward to this for days ... there is always a big party going on afterwards and it´s a lot of fun for the kids to run around dressed up. But this year we had to stay home.

It makes me happy to hear you had some fun and it makes me even happier that Emma is doing ok again.
I spend Fastnacht at home doing homework and learning for school. A friend was so busy with school that she just forgot it was Fastnacht. But it was hardly celebrated here. Of course there were parties in the evening, but usually schools make something for the lower grades. This didn't happen this year, so everything was quiet and nice. :wink:

I know what you mean. Sometimes I feel the same.
When something good happens, before or after something bad happens because of that good thing.

Wow, that certainly sounds like an interesting night! Sorry to hear about the girls getting sick again? Just out of curiosity, when you do go out, do you feel guilty that you are out having fun and expect to be "punished" for it later? Cos I have often thought that you can make things happen just by hoping that it doesn't. Or maybe I am just taking this "The Secret" stuff too seriously *lol*

No, I don´t feel guilty when I go out! It´s not that often that I go out and if I go, then the girls are usually with their dad, so I don´t have to feel guilty at all.
It´s just that I felt so sad about me having fun once in a long time and it made me feel so good - which is good for, cause so many bad things happened in the past and I was so frustrated and was thinking about the sense of life. It´s important for my health to experience good things as well. So I started to feel good and it was good for me that I had no panic attack and I started to feel more secure again too. But then something bad happened again and I was just like "why can´t this happy feeling last longer?" I had some hope that better times will come, I felt stronger again and then I got pushed back - it made me so sad and frustrated again.
