Again, for those of you that saw, give opinions on the Simplified run...and some ideas for what to do for the Amplified shows.
The set itself I thought could have been laid out better, it seemed too crowded--where you sat really affected who you could see on the stage. And the lighting/band attire...way too much emphasis on "mood lighting" and a more formal (?) dress code. From my perspective: The Amazing Floating Sadowsky and The Phantom Drums. :wink: Cute, but impractical as hell. If we wanted to just HEAR the band, that's what the CD's are for!!!!!!
I don't figure they'll be using the strings again for Amplified, so that will clear up some of the space issue...not sure if Dave will still have a baby grand up there. But some bright, colorful clothes and lights...maybe a slight return to the Life tour...that would be good. Would keep the crowd energy up and make it easier to see everybody. :-D

I can only judge on the Shepherds Bush concert. Fairly ordinary. But for me it isn't about the stage setting. It is about showing off the band.
Sorry folks, but I'll harp back to the 70's. The best stage setting I have ever seen was Boz Scaggs when he toured Australia. Dates and places all to vague to this memory now. :oops:
He had red velvet which covered everything that could be covered. Platforms, backdrop and a black floor covering. It was very sexy, romantic, yet simple. And given Boz's music, it suited it very well. I have never forgotten that setting.
Neither have I forgotten the laser light shows of the late 70's for ELO at the Sydney Randwick Racecourse. First time I have ever seen anything like it in my life and as for a laser light show, never seen anything that comes close to it. Although, today with all the techno stuff that goes on, I'm sure there is better to be seen. :D

I thought the stage was far too smokey - there were times when it was allmost impossible to see the band at all :-(
I agree that the stage for the Life tour was the best!
