I love my Live from Dublin concert disc better than the studio Simplified. It just seems to me these songs in particular are more easily appreciated with the live versions. Maybe I "understand" them more in the live context? And after seeing the Cuba DVD I think that may be the case for me.
All in all~ yes I love it :)

lol alison you`re so funny. its time for a new cd if not soon sometime in near future anyway we been told and you still 'simplify' things lol time to 'amplify' it a bit already innit! ;)
although if you really still wonder- - it`s very dear to me, Simplified. as all things else by the band. coz i am a real fan of theirs. i am.

Yes, I too love that album but I have to agree with Angie that these new versions are live the best. Don't have a live-CD from the last tour but I am lucky enough that I have been to two concerts of that tour. Oh, and I cannot say how many times I watched "Cuba!". :D (haven't got an overdose yet :devil)
For me the album versions are a bit to sterile and perfect if one could say this whereas live everything unpredictable can happen. The band giving there best, the chearing crowd firing the band to give even more... and they do ... I love this sort of climax and am always too disappointed by the abrupt ending of a show :shock: :cry: That's what I miss on Simplified just a lil bit yet it's still a great album :-D

Musicianship supreme.
Material--so-so. Love some tracks, indifferent toward others.
I still like Home better.
And I'll throw in another vote: MUCH BETTER LIVE. The new slow/fast version of "Fairground"??? BRILLIANT!!!!!!!!!
Wish they'd announce that Amsterdam date in June already, I'm dying to book...and British Airways is having an airfare sale through Student Travel Association. $318 RT--how can I let THAT go??? :oops:

I agree with Night Nurse, I love the Simplified cd but I belove more the RAH live.
It remind me too strong the 2 concerts I was, Antwerpen and Paris, Mick and the band are so incredible in gigs :) :clap

SINCE I'VE BEEN LISTENING TO MICK'S OLDER MUSIC FOR OVER TWENTY YEARS, I WAS LOOKING FORWARD TO HEARING SOME NEW TUNES. BUT SIMPLYFIED WAS MOSTLY CUTS OF HIS OLDER MUSIC REDONE. YET WHEN I LISTEN TO THE SONGS, I STILL THINK I'M LISTENING TO THE ORIGINALS. I DO LIKE " SONG FOR YOU" AND THE FAST VERSON OF PERFACT LOVE. IT WASN'T HIS BEST, BUT LOVING HIS VOICE SO MUCH I LISTEN TO IT.
BLUE IS MY FAVORITE AND "MELLOW YOUR" MIND IS MY PICK FOR THAT CD.
THE THING IS MICK COULD SING " MARY HAD A LITTLE LAMB" AND I'D
HAVE MY EAR TO THE SPEAKER. IT'S THE VOICE MORE THEN THE SONG THAT I LOVE.

I prefer the slow version "My Perfect Love" :top love to hear Dee and Sarah on the chorus.

The 2 Perfect Loves are SUCH different songs in every way. I love them equally for their own merits. The fast is sultry, slinky and sexy~ the slow is nastolgic, smooth and comfortable! Both beautiful. And Michi~ you are right , the girls (in both styles) are a great treat for the ears!
