Second, third, and fourth that, T. As Knokkak put it after first viewing, "I need this DVD in my LIFE!!!" She now has it and watches it faithfully. :D
"Redeye"--total band throwdown. Percussion duel, Lewinson vs. VandenBossche. Two of the top skins beaters the UK has ever put out. The fireworks are something to behold. :top :top :top
The whole thing is awesome though. She really put together one hell of a band for that tour, and her singing was top form. :D
Next I'd recommend the Eurythmics 'Peacetour' DVD and the Duran Duran 'Live In London' DVD...two recent acquisitions, both smokin' shows, and yes, there's an SR connection to both. :wink:

SAVING IT FOR "GOOD"
collecting anything requires little planning, you want it, you need it, you have it, you save it, you store it..... we may forget about it.....before we even use it or enjoy it.......
looking at boxes of items saved, "save it for special times", wrap it carefully, hide it away in quiet places..."keeping it for good"...."storing it for later".... "saving it for somebody else..."
listening to aunties or parents or neighbors all giving advice to "keep it nice" for the times you want to celebrate, certainly "not for everyday use..." or "You'll be glad when you have it years from now"
remembering the special china, glassware, silverware, linens, that you only saw being used for the Holidays, or Wedding Dinners, or when guests visited...you always knew when times were "special"....
wondering after a while, where these special "decorations in our lives" went, after aunties and parents and neighbors had moved on with their lives, or didn't bring out the "sentimental accessories" anymore. (Were they now tarnished, broken, stained, or lost ?)
watching boxes of items at auctions or sales, sometimes sell so cheaply.... curiosity wins a bid and now am owning a special box of someone's memories, collections, beloved plates and cups that
"signified" gatherings of family and friends, over fancy prepared meals, enjoyed by candlelights.
opening the new treasure, could not believe that many of the items collected were never used...decorative salt shakers.....a silver butter knife.....a set of soft linen dinner napkins wrapped in the original satin ribbon, a cookbook old in age but new and never used, a lacy apron, candle holders without melted wax...."that never enjoyed the warmth of a candle or the flickers of light bouncing off silver bases... table linens....birthday candles....glittery things...."
imagining someone's life through their collection in a box....did they collect special items just to hope they would one day celebrate all those special occasions ? Were they alone without anyone to share a meal ? Did they worry about their "special collected items" getting dirty, or broken or ruined ?
delaying my questions, was it comfortable looking into somebody's soul ?
searching the collection for "something nostalgic" (for an item from childhood times maybe, or something your grandmother used to have in her kitchen)...... interest peeks, finding treasures....giggling a bit....wiping away a tear.
remembering the boxes of sacred items once gathered from presents received over the years and "stashing" things to be "put away for good"... so you have them for "later", for "one day", for "special occasions".. (maybe someday....)
re-evaluating "collections" and re-thinking reasons for "saving it for an occasion" are now thrown out the window...now, going to use these, party now, display them for all ....
seeing lots of opportunities to enjoy ...."Now, this moment in time".....grab them and use them, and "not to worry about breaking or staining or tarnishing them".....they will bring us to a connection, to a place in time... when they WERE USED .....by you...and by others too!
let the next person, finding your special collection, reveal YOUR celebrations of life.....
and may you have many meals, many memories, made spectacular using your "good stuff"...

TRAFFIC STRANGERS
sitting at the intersection, drivers stop like zombies, obeying the little red traffic light.
hoping it changes to green, hating that it is making you late,
dreaming of owning a little remote control device that could change it.
knowing if nobody was looking that you could not drive through it
because you may cause an accident or get a traffic ticket from the police.
adjusting the radio, or changing a CD, or pulling down the mirror over the sun-visor
to look at messed up hair, or call someone on your cell phone...
looking at the person in the next car, wondering what they are doing while waiting like a caged animal at the zoo...
we all can see each other sitting, breathing, smoking, talking on the phone....
reading the newspaper, applying makeup, combing hair,
blowing or picking their noses, squeezing their pimples....
they are not in a private closet, they are in a fish bowl....
do they think they are invisible to us ??
unable to get out of the vehicle to greet each other, afraid to meet eyes not knowing if they are the serial killer,
cannot waive or smile for fear they may follow you....
we all just sit and wait and wait and wait for the green light.
wouldn't it be great if we had printed text messaging visible from all windows of your car, including doors on the sides,
so we could communicate....?
finally, could say hello...or "nice day, huh..", or "nice sports car", or "do you listen to SIMPLY RED'S MUSIC ????"
or "love the sunshine today" or "are you George Clooney ?" or "hey babe"
or "what's your problem?" "you drive like a maniac"
or "did you get your license on e:bay?" or "you just went through a red light" or "get a horse and buggy" or "park it..... now".
Sure beats the international middle-finger-gesture "wave".....

Pulling the scarf close to keep out the wind, earmuffs are tight...
Everyone goes into the little shelter building to get hot chocolate...
The picnic baskets are full of wine and cheese and sausages to grill....
Sitting in front of the huge fireplace for the rest of the afternoon.....
Let the rest of them freeze their cheeks off, my cheeks are nice and warm.
Oh, pour some of that Jagermeiseter into my hot chocolate please....
