    Q @ A session for Admin
Michi why under some sections of the board i canonly edit, under others - only edit and delete and third ones - do none of the above actions to my posts? i thought being amember i should be left free as to what i find reasonable to do with my post after i have recieved the answers i needed (or no answrs for that matter). i don`t hide my face when i post them. but its my right to have them deleted when i feel like, don`t you think.

    Masha,
It depends on the settings in the particular board. If you want a post deleted that you are not able to delete, let us know and we'll pull it.

Meantime, I'm going to delete the duplicate post to this one, just to keep the board clean, OK?

I'm sure Michi will chip in on this tomorrow. She has a better idea of what settings are in place for each board and why.

ok . then meanwhile please pull the one in the section about meet and greet because i am hanging there all alone, Night Nurse having chosen to leave her reply in a section of her own, alright?

OK...I'll pull that, and then you can go ahead and open up a new reply if you like.

By the way, a fad is something that's currently popular...like Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Coldplay...or some fashion trend or something. :-D

Sorry, maybe it became a bit confusing here yesterday.

The so-called "problem" was that you (masha and night nurse) were quite busy when I was still setting up things. Which is actually not really a problem but pretty cool! I'm glad you all like to post on this board.
I thought it would be nice if every member gets his/her own topic on the Meet & Greet section. So I moved night nurse (Angie) into her own topic. And then I noticed it was rather late already and I was too exhausted to think about your message, Masha.

After all you should be able to edit or delete your own messages wherever and whenever you want. Please let me know if you've still got problems doing it.
Only unregistered users can't edit or delete their messages (at least I think)

Oh, and talking about "fad". Hmmmm, I think I meant something (slightly??) different. Looks like a translating mistake and my dictionary wasn't really helpful at this.
Maybe "spleen" is a better word:?: ... a certain attribute you have that others might think is strange or silly.

i`m sorry now you`ve made it even less clear for me Michi...

Masha and Michi~ I love your translations! You make me smile. I SO wish I spoke another language! I think it is great that you take on English like you do!

Fad~ yes, it is something popular or current at the time. Clothing, etc. like Shannon explained.

"Spleen" in English is an internal organ that lies under your stomach and produces white blood cells :) I can't think of a certain word that means as you said, "a certain attribute you have that others might think is strange or silly". Maybe "quirk" ~ lets see what our college student Shannon can come up with for that one :)

Michi~ thanks for explaining how my information got on it's own thread. I was wondering how it did that~ I had thought I posted it right under Masha's. I thouht maybe I had done something wrong :doh

    simplymichi - 14.01.2006, 15:14

No, you didn't do anything wrong, Angie.

Oh yes, it seems you are right and the word I was searching for is "quirk" (sounds even a bit strange )
It's so difficult to translate words that don't have an exact meaning or more than just one. That's the reason why translation programs like google will never really work.

    Just try this:
Translate this sentence "Simply Red is a soul pop band.< with google to German and you will get this:
"Ist ein Seelenknallband einfach rot." <-- that's not even a sentence.
    and what is a "Seelenknallband"?!?!?
OK, now translate it back to English and there you go! "A soul bang volume is simply red."
That's a pretty funny game, isn't it??? Or am I a lil quirk :alien

must have been i didnt express me clearly with what i meant to say about 'fad'.... since you`ve gone in a direction (with that spleen) i absolutely don`t follow the connection of with my meaning.. i was just wondering at the mere appearance of the word which would mean such a thing as 'fad' means coz it defines a concept which is somehow unnecesary... is it a fad thing to ask questions about one`s fave fad nowadays? or is it fad to have a fad? do i get it right?

    Re: Q @ A session for Admin

    night nurse - 14.01.2006, 17:07

    You've got it Masha :)

"it defines a concept which is somehow unnecesary... is it a fad thing to ask questions about one`s fave fad nowadays? or is it fad to have a fad? do i get it right?"

Yes, it is a bit redundant. And to some FADS are very important. To follow the "in" thing at the moment and do what is popular. For me this has never been the case. I fancy myself as a free spirit who just does what seems REAL to me :)

You will often hear Mick speak of himself as one NOT to follow the fads or fashions of the rest of the music industry. And that is a good thing~ being as the fad these days seems to be "singers" who make one album, sell it big and then are gone. There are few bands/singers with longevity like Mick anymore.

But now that we clarify that Michi meant "quirk" or something piculiar about yourself that makes the question more understandable. And right now off the top of my head the only thing that I think people find "quirky" about me is that I am VERY fond of going for a run at 4 am :) To most that is quite insane :D

Hope you quirky gals have a super day now

That's a nice idea, but I don't know how to realise it here.
I think Chris has a chat on her redmick group, so this could be possible for anybody who likes to chat. You only have to be signed in there.
