    Veins - Siblings
Greetings, adventurers! Do you seek exciting travels, entertaining fights and rewarding missions?

Then go elsewhere. This is Siblings, and it is probably the most horrible Quest Gravity has ever invented for RO. Seriously. It is dangerous, has rather mundane rewards, requires an irregular amount of items AND it has a pretty lame story.

However, it is required for Nameless Island, so many of you might be interested in solving it.

    Before you start...
    - Take your time and collect the items beforehand. This quest is annoying enough, believe me.
    - You need to enter Thor's Volcano...multiple times. This is a VERY dangerous and scary place. If you don't have a very (VERY) powerful party to bring you through (few people do ^^), and you have no or little experience with Thor's, see my Guide at the end of the post.
    - Still, you might die. You will get Exp at the end, but you should still prepare yourself to loose some %.
    - It helps if you are masochist...

However, don't be too intimidated. If you prepare right, this really is doable, even with low chars and/or bad equip.

    Required Level: 60+

    Required Quests:
    Lost Child -> Rachel Sanctuary

    Required Items:
    5 Monster's Feed
    1 Unripe Apple
    2 Yellow Potions
1 Steel (you can keep it)
    6 Empty Bottles
    100+ Green Herbs (see below)
    10+ Milk (see below)
    50+ Jellopy (see below)

Note: You will need the Green Herb + Milk + Jellopy set multiple times, probably around 10 times, maybe even more. Don't bother starting the quest until you have at least 1k Herbs and 500 Jellopies.
(I needed around 1,1k Herbs with my first try on Loki. For the second on Chaos, I got lucky and it took me only around 500. This is VERY random.)

    Rewards:
    1,000,000 Base Exp (fixed)
    700,000 Job Exp (fixed)
    1x Old Purple Box

    Quest:
1.: Find the Kid in Veins and talk to him. Accept the mission.

That was the easy part. Now it's getting serious.

    2.: Travel to Thor's Volcano...

    ...make it to 2nd level...

...and find the exit to the secret area.

Note that it can only be reached from the north. If a Guardian or so is in that exact area, you're f*cked. Try later, then.

3.: Once inside, find the little girl and talk to her.

    Wing back to Veins.

4.: Go back to the boy, talk to him. Looks like we need a locksmith.

5.: This guy seems to know something.

6.: Mr. Lockenlock should be able to help us, but he has a bad hangover. Hand him a Yellow Potion and give him a moment to get clear. He can craft a key but he needs an impression of the lock. To make one, we need a special soap.

7.: Ivory the soapmaker is at the market.

She'll ask us to bring her some stuff.

    10x Milk
    100x Green Herb
    50x Jellopy
    5x Empty Bottle

8.: Ivory won't take the items, but she tells us to bring them to Saraman the camel owner.

He will tell us to bring even more items to make an appetizer for the camel.

    1x Unripe Apple
    5x Monster's Feed
    1x Empty Bottle
    1x Yellow Potion

He'll make the appetizer for us and tell us to go to the camels. Only the right one will eat it.

9.: After "talking" to all the camels, we notice that something is wrong. Oh right...the camel we're looking for isn't here. Unexpected twist! Woohoo.

So let's get back to Saraman and ask him. Guess what? Soony the Stupid Camel is lost and WE have to look for her now...

    10.: Let's try the south.

Aww, don't worry, Soony is alright. She's just trapped in an area full of deadly poisonous snakes and psychotic killer birds. Good that this isn't our problem.

Feed Soony the appetizer and the other food. And pray. Pray for good camel dung!

For every set of 10x Milk + 100x Green Herb + 50x Jellopy you get 5 tries. If you succeed, you'll get camel dung. If you fail, you get Sweet Potatoes (WTF?). Try as often as you have to.

Got 5 bottles with dung? Great, you just managed to get past one of the most annoying NPCs in the whole game.
Time to get back to Saraman.

11.: He's grateful that we found his beloved Soony and gives us one Old Violet Box.
Now let's head to Ivory and she'll create this strange soap for us. Take it to Lockenlock.

12.: Time for our second journey to TV (yay!). Enter the volcano, get to second level, enter secret area, find girl, make impression.

13.: Wing back to Veins. Take the impression to Lockenlock (by the way, did I mention how awesomely creative it is to give a LOCKsmith a name like "Lockenlock"?). He'll ask for one Steel to create the key.

14.: After we got him the Steel, he'll say that he recognized the impression and we have no choice but to confess.

Then he'll give us the master key. Cool, eh? He had the key for the WHOLE DAMN TIME. We wouldn't have needed an impression. No soap. No camel. Gaah...
If you don't hate Gravity now, then you are a twisted freak and there is no hope for you.

15.: Well, anyway, let's go to TV for the third time. You know the way. 2nd Level. Secret area. Girl. Unlock the chains and send her home. Then wing back to Veins yourself.

16.: Talk to the boy to get the XP reward and finish the quest.

Congratulations, you did it! Now go ahead and try Volcano Base Quest for even moar Thor's...

Nali's Guide to going through Thor's Volcano...and coming back alive.

First, you'll want some Equip. Without, most monsters at TV will most likely kill you with one hit. The goal is to make this 2 or 3 hits. This gives you an extra chance to get away and heal up if you make a mistake.
    - Fire resistance has top priority. Fire armor (or at least water), Jakk Card, Leib Olmai Card, Welding Mask, Fire Resistance Potion, take whatever you can get.
    - Get a shield, even if you don't usually use one. You won't fight anyway (you can switch in case). Alice Card is best, Peno Card is good too, but both are very expensive. Cranial might help against the Guardians, from Hell against the Imps. BUT...you don't want to level here. You just want to survive. Most hits you might take are ranged, so i suggest a Horn Card (yes, it helps against ranged spells, too). It's cheap and easy to get.
    - Otherwise, get as much Def and Mdef as possible.

Note: You don't NEED really good equip to do this...but it helps. You can always lag, overlook an aggro hiding behind a rock or simply teleport into a Fire Pillar.

Second, the important thing about TV is, that only the 1st and 3rd levels are so horrible.

The 2nd, where you need to go for the quests, is still dangerous...but after going through 1st, it feels like Poring Heaven. The real horror is surviving 1st and getting through alive.
For that, you'll just take lots and lots of Fly Wings. DON'T EVEN THINK about using Teleport. It's TOO SLOW. Believe me. You can still use it in Lvl 2 though.
Also, Hide or Cloak WILL NOT WORK. All the aggros here are either demons or have bossflag.
Then get some Butterfly Wings and maybe Pots.

    Save in Veins (important!).

You start upper left corner. You want to the exit in the lower right.

Prepare yourself, enter the Volcano and start to wing like crazy. The target is to end up at the exit as close as possible. Don't try to "run through", even if you have a chance to survive that, you will only pull the monsters closer to the warp and they will block it.
Because there are many idiots on euRO who do exactly this...your best chances are when you try this late in the night or early in the morning.
The most dangerous monsters are the Guardians (especially the sword guys), Kasas (they look funny, but OH THE HORROR...) and Salamanders.
If the exit is swarmed (note that "swarmed" can mean "one Kasa") anyway, don't bother. Retreat, wait some time and try again.

Keep your eyes on the minimap, your hand on your mouse and your mouse cursor on the right half of the screen.
If you run low on FWs, wing back to Veins and get new ones.
Stay calm and don't rush yourself. Remember, FWs are cheap.
As soon as you end up a few cells next to the exit, slip through. Congrats, you did it.

    Start is upper left corner.

The most annoying thing on this map is, you can't rotate your camera freely...not sure what Grav was smoking at this part.
As mentioned, this level is relatively harmless. You still shoudn't walk around too much, but you can use Teleport instead of FWs here. Be careful though, there are still one Guardian of each kind, a Salamander and 10 Imps here. The Knockers and Magmarings are passive (and rather weak), the Kahos are aggro but slow and killable.
If you encounter one of the three big monsters here, flee and try to memorize it's location, so you can avoid it more easily from now on.
If you feel strong and well equipped enough, you can try to take on an Imp (but be careful, they are mean).
And if you want to die a horrible and gruesome death, leave the exit to Level 3 and search for Ifrit.

    That's it for now.

:undecided I am not sure if I really want to go to nameless island...

But sincerely, thanks Nali. So I am a friend of flywings maybe I will make it one day when I feel very very very brave.
 atm you made me feel scared but it seems a good guide :top:

I say it's possible with 60/10 Novi with Knife and Cotton Shirt.

As mentioned, preparation is everything. I did the quest yesterday in under 2 hours while writing the guide and I died only once...and that was my own fault.

Don't be too scared...you can do it! ;)

I beat the quest yesterday and i can tell you guys ONE thing:

Thors Volcano is a deadly deathtrap dungeon of die and despair!

Nice guide Nali, nice big map pics are really useful :)

I got peno valk shiel, flame guard (jakk card) hood and mantle of ifrit (pasana card). Can be used by anyone over level 65 and if anyone wants to borrow for doing the quests in Thor's Volcano let me know.

With them on 3k HP was enough to survive teleporting onto a fire pillar, and I was also able to use tele clip rather than wings (which is useful depending on how many wings you can carry... and you luck with wings...).

The second Volcano quest is considerably easier - only need to go into volcano once - and after doing both of them you can do the Peace For Arunafeltz quest too, which is pretty easy and worth very good XP indeed (it is the reward for risking the volcano 4 times I think :D ).

My first try was surprisingly easy...and somehow fun.

Not half as bad as I expected...

    Holiday - 25.01.2009, 21:46

All depends on luck :), my 1st try was not bad either but my 2nd char went there with no luck, few times 3 or more mobs near entrance to lvl 2, and two times with bow guardian, so no chance to get in there

This quest is bad for my inner peace. I'm trying to solve this crap with my Wizard. Oh, i started at 13 german time. 5 hours later there's still no end in sight.

Don't do this quest if you don't want to know what berserker rage is like...
