Looking for a 418's RAF sqd crash (Mosquito), we found a small plate on the site with the following numbers and letters :
70H 501212
Any idea welcome !

Hi Stephane,
this is not a typical Mossie part number
A typical Mosquito part number begins with a letter, a dot and some digits (most begins with "98"). Here a example: D.98176
Here a overview of this what the letter indicated:
A
B Fuselage
C
D
E Wings
F
G Undercarriage
J Tail unit
K Flying controls
L Engine installation
N Electrics
P Fuel
R Radio
S Services
Q Hydraulics
Z Misc.
If you have more parts, let me know. I have the Mossie part cataloge ;-)
Regards
Nils

Thank you Nils,
Sadly, we found some small parts from the plane. This is the only one with numbers. Most important one is a plywood made. i'm going to take pics to show to the board.
Sure this is a mosquito site.
Maybe this small plate doesn't come from the plane.

Stef,
perhaps the plate came from an instrument or equipment that was general...not just for Mosquito... then there can be another numbering... I guess.
Nills,
please the alphabetic code you posted above - it was general for all RAF planes, or just fro Mosquito?
Thanks, Jan

@ Jan
The alphabetic code is only for the Mosquito.

Yes Jan, you're (as usual !!!!) right. That's possible. Sadly, it seems the plane exploded and german troops took the most important parts after the crash. As i wrote you before, we could only find small wmall wreckage. I will try to post more soon. :n57:
