From a Luftwaffe crash site 25 km south Salerno. Some idea?
Some idea about those parts? Came from a Luftwaffe crash site in south Italy, 25 km sout of Salerno (perhaps crashed 29 sept 1943). As soon as possible I'll post other fragments.

The rating plate is from "Elektronischer Durchladeschaltkasten", a electrical unit which controlled the feed of the ammunition of the machine gun.

Many thanks for all informations. We had find 2 crash site of USA aircraft in this place, Acerno, 25 km south\east from Salerno.

One is B-24 of lt. Prchal, shot down 11 jan. 1943 (see our reportage here http://www.1943salerno.it/ritrovamenti/54-il-consolidated-b-24-liberator.html)

The other is A-36 of lt. Gossett, shot down 27 sept. 1943 (see our reportage here http://www.1943salerno.it/ritrovamenti/58-il-cacciabombardiere-north-american-a-36a-apache-42-83976.html

In the MACR about lt. Gossett we are unable to read reason of crash. However in the report about Prchal shot down we read in the book LIBERANDOS, p. 92, that bombers were attacked by a Me109 tha was shot down after he shot down Prchal and Payne aircraft. Perhaps this can be aircraft we find? Do you have any news about Me109 shot down 11 january 1943? Thanks.

    @ Salerno:

    1.
Unfortunately, I noticed that you are thanking very rarely the help that you get here from the member!
A "Thank you for the help" would be great, and I think more member will help you.
I´m no longer prepared to identify your parts when you're not thanking for the help...

    2.
Please be sure, that the photos you upload have a smaller dimension (pixel)

    3.
On your Facebook site I found just one of my photos (parts of a gyro horizon) I have made and had uploaded here!!
Please remove my photo in your photo album, or write the source under the photo!
It can not be, that you use photos from other member without their permission!

    Regards

    Many thanks Nils.
I put credit to your photo. Please inform me if it is OK.
Thanks also for other informations. So we can to be sure we are on a Bf109 crash site. It is correct? Do you have a list of Bf109 crashed around Salerno in 1943? The period should be january-september 1943.
    Thanks again.
