Where is the stamp R3? I have myself from the same crashsite
two Bomb release mechanism. stamped with MK III, IIA/692, VAD 3145
and MK IIIA, IIA/1349, but I don't found R3. Are this parts not from Lancaster?

Hallo,
On your photos I can't see R3. On my mechanism I found R3 on the
bolts. Is that a pointer to Lancaster.

The oval marking is a inspector´s stamp. The "R3" indicated a inspector of the Avro manufacturing, the digits "595" is the personal id code of the inspector, they has checked this part.
