    My Civic MA8 96'
:D Well, thought I'd post up some pics of my civic. Ive owned it for over 3 years now, and I bought it from my wife who had it a year. It was completelt standard when I got it, but didn't last long like that!
    So, as I got her.

1st mod was fitting the later style rear lights, as I prefer them without the orange indicators.

Next, I fitted the rear spoiler, and also the rear bumper from the later MB style civic (again just because I prefer the shape/look of it, and to make my future mods easier to fit (more of in a bit  )

The I thought about the interior, and lucky me my wife found on good old Ebay a Brand new/old stock Leather interior for the MA civic!! she got it for my birthday so was well pleased! Only prob was it was the actual kit made by honda, which i had to retrim my seats with myself!! It took me weeks on and off, but was well worth the effort. Interior wise, also changed the head unit, had 2 jvc's in there but finally settled on a pioneer cd/mp3 unit which sounds class! Upgraded speakers to sony all round.

Then I decided on a bit of the JDM look the other honda sites are always on about, and got genuine Honda sunroof wind deflectors for my car and my wifes aerodeck

Next up, a change of rims to 15 inch wolfrace excites, which I like because they look very similar to the Honda alloys found on civic jordans etc, so keeping the oem look.

Then recently, I thought it was about time I colour coded my front bumper, as someone had kindly bumped it for me in a carpark and left a scrape on it. I also had just bought a new gun for my compressor as this had been holding me back getting any paintwork done on her! Whilst the bumper was off, i fitted a new grill too as the chrome was nackered on mine, and also fitted the headlamp washers too. I only finished the painting on Thursday, and really happy with the way it turned out. Gonna be doing a whole load of colour coding to it in the next few weeks, inc the mirrors, bump strips, door handles etc. Im also moddifying my old grill,so that might make a re-appearance! I'd bought some oem front foglamps from an mb6, but they wouldnt fit in my bumper
Anyways, heres a couple of pics of how it turned out. Not got any good ones of it back on the car yet as not had time! Will flatten then polish it next weekend.

Mechanics wise, I've changed the brakes to Balck Diamond grooved/vented front discs with predator pads, removed the resonator box, and fitted a k&n panel filter. I want to go fo induction kit next, and maybe an aftermarket stainless steel exhaust. deff going to be getting it lowered!
    So future mods are...
1Change alloys to rota gt3 with polished lip or rota grid with polished lip
2.Have my present wheels powder coated white and use them for winter wheels
    3.induction kit
    4.lowered
    5.tint windows
    6.poss full respray
    7.fit front wind deflectors
8.find a boss kit to fit my momo steering wheel (ANY HELP LOCATING ONE OR INFO ON WHAT WILL FIT MY CAR MUCHO APPRECIATED!!)
    Comments/opinions welcome :D

    you have a nice interior
how much you pay (or your wife) for the leather seats?

and the rear bumper fit it plag and play on the MA rear?

    Re: My Civic MA8 96'

    crazzzydave - 02.09.2008, 23:13

:D Hi mate and thanks! She got the interior for the rock bottom bargain price of £60 plus p&p......Deff a bargain. Just type leather interior honda on the ebay search thing and see what comes back

Regards the bumper, yeah it's just plug and play, bolts in no probs at all. Just remember (cos I forgot at the time! ) to get the rear mudflaps with it, cos the MA ones wont fit the new bumper. I had to go and buy the MB ones later!! Alls good now tho  I put the later bumper on cos I'm gonna find (hopefully) and fit the rear MB6 VTi-S lip, and it wouldnt fit on the original bumper.

Thanks guys! Im taking the rear bumper off for respraying as the paint is really faded on it, next is a new bonnet and all the colour coding as above. keep thinking about an engine swap to the mb6 1.8, but it's alot of work....wuld be cheaper just buying one but couldnt face selling my MA!!
Any info on what aftermarket steering wheel boss will fit my car would be greatly appreciated! I might also have a mb6 vti front lip for sale soon if anyones interested
Keep up the good work.......excellent site this!

    Hi!

Nice car you got there. Never change that leather-interior :D Here in Finland I just met a guy who has JDM-style MA, but I dunno, I like it more aggresive and nice bodykits and paintjob.

Mine is going be really rusty and winter is coming, so I think my project will wait over the winter and in spring I will be really in hondamania

LOL yeah, the shipping probably would cost more than the part!!! I have both nthe vti lip and the vti-s front lip, which is like finding a needle in a hay stack over here!! My wife has kinda hinted she wants the vti-s lip on here aerodeck, and as I have the rear one for it too it kinda seems fair to let her have it on hers! I was gonna try and modify it to fit the MA, but was gonna involve to much chopping/bending/filling to get it to fit and i didnt want to risk ruining it!! Thanks for all the nice comments on my civic guys...............whole load more to come from it  Love the "M's" Ive seen on here too!

Hello mate, love the mods you have done to your MA. I went for the MB1 SR look and decided to colour code the handles and mirrors as well, see my thread. Might be a suggestion for you too. The wash wipe mod looks nice was it easy to fit ?

    Re: My Civic MA8 96'

    crazzzydave - 14.09.2008, 23:27

:D Hi mate and thanks for the comments on my civic. The door handles/mirrors and bump strips are next on the list for colour coding, along with spraying the new bonnet (when i find one!!) Been wanting the colour coding thing done for a while now, and now i've got my new spray gun, should be done soon :)
The h/light washers were a doddle to fit, really easy. Just measure up where you want them (cant remember the exact measurements now!) then measure again to make sure...........then drill! I used a kind of hole maker to do it, then a small file as you have to make a square cut out into the hole aswell to fit them. They go in pointing side-ways, then when you turn them, the square bit on the washer goes under the hole you drilled (sounds complicated, but you'll see what i mean when you look at the base of the washers! ) I was lucky to get all the wiring with mine, but it meant i was going to have to fit the washer bottle from an mb6 too, so I've wired mine up different. I've put a t-peice on the pump for the rear screen washer, and then put the rear washer pipe back onto that along with the h/light washer pipe. My reason for putting it on the rear wash is this...........during the winter, you use the front screen wash alot, so this would mean the water/screen wash would be used up quickly if it was washing the h/lights everytime you cleaned the windscreen, plus the water on the h/lights might freeze up. By putting it to the rear screen, I can clean the lights only when i want them cleaned :D Either way, a very easy mod and one i think makes the MA front stand out! Mines is the onl one i've seen done in the uk, but i have seen another on this site with the same mod........looks class

Just saw your MA in the build thread..............looks spotless mate. Love the ma's in red, they really suit it. I thought yours was a real sr when i saw it!! Looks sweet

SR being the 1.6 125bhp? thats the car i wanted ages ago.

    Re: My Civic MA8 96'

    crazzzydave - 30.11.2008, 23:53

:D Hi guys, not posted here for a while. Been busy recently at work so not spent any time on the civic for a while............until today. I finally got a very good condition second hand bonnet to replace my rusty and already repaired one. Also got some other nice parts for it from the same place I got the bonnet (I've posted a link to the seller incase anyone needs parts) which were proper Honda rear spoiler with LED brake light (my present one doesnt have the light), bump strips from the front bumper (again honda parts) which will make the front tie in nicely with the later style MB rear bumper i already have on it, and lastly, front wind deflectors! been after these for ages!! had a look at them when I was cleaning them, and noticed theyre genuine honda ones.................didnt even know honda made them for the civic 5 door!
So plans are, next weekend, prep and respray the new bonnet, boot spoiler, and also the mirrors (might aswell colour code them while I'm doing the rest) fit the bump strips to my bumper, and fit the wind deflectors. Then give her a good clean and get some photos up :D

Nice one mate looking forward to the pics of the work. Also if it aint too much trouble could you please take some pictures on how you went about installing the spoiler with the third LED brake light as my car never had one either in the factory spoiler but to complete the SR look I bought a complete spoiler with the LED light but still aint installed it yet so any pics you may take in the progress will really help.

:D No problem mate, will take a few pics during painting, and also when fitting. Taking a bit longer than expected due to family commitments, but hopefully get it done soon :o
